U Velikoj Britaniji su otkriveni prvi slučajevi britanske varijante koronavirusa, koji u sebi nose dodatnu genetsku promjenu južnoafričke virusne linije. To je veoma zabrinjavajuće jer bi moglo doći do kombiniranja dvije negativne osobine. Britanska varijanta B.1.17 je virus već učinila znatno zaraznijim. Za razliku od britanskog mutanta, južnoafrička varijanta korone 501Y.V2 također u sebi nosi mutaciju E484K. Ista mutacija E484K nalazi se i u brazilskoj varijanti B.1.1.33 i B.1.1.28., javio je Deutsche Welle.

Istovremeno, u Njemačkoj je prvi put na jednom mjestu zabilježeno više zaraženih osoba novim sojem koronavirusa. Riječ je o berlinskoj bolnici koja je zbog toga sada cijela stavljena u karantenu.

Klinika Humboldt koja pripada lancu klinika koncerna Vivantes u potpunoj je karanteni. To je jedinstveni slučaj u Njemačkoj. Na kardiologiji te bolnice više pacijenata i medicinskih radnika su zaraženi "engleskim virusom", sojem koronavirusa B.1.1.7. koji je otkriven u Velikoj Britaniji.

Njemački glavni grad, koji je prošle jeseni bio jedno od žarišta zaraze, upravo je počeo bilježiti uspjehe pri izlasku iz drugog vala epidemije. Broj novozaraženih stalno je padao. Trenutno je incidencija u sedmodnevnom razdoblju pala na ispod 100, a to je i njemački prosjek. Također opada broj težih slučajeva u bolnicama.

A onda je uslijedio ovaj šok. Od 51 slučaja zaraze novim sojem virusa čak 24 ih je otkriveno u Berlinu. Podatke je 25. siječnja objavio Institut Robert Koch. Istovremeno je koncern Vivantes na konferenciji za medije priopćio da su prvi slučajevi bili poznati još prošli tjedan.

Kada je evidentirano učestalo izbijanje bolesti, bolnica je uvela karantenu. To je učinjeno u suradnji s Institutom Robert Koch, saveznom pokrajinom Berlin, nadležnim zdravstvenim zavodom i berlinskom klinikom Charite koja je centar kompetencije za covid-19. Cilj je da se otkriju svi kontakti koje su imali zaraženi.

Zabrinjava i brazilska varijanta, kod koje postoji mogućnost da više nije dovoljna imunost nastala nakon što je osoba preboljela zarazu koronavirusom ili je cijepljena. Najprije se pojavila u Manausu, glavnom gradu savezne države Amazone, u kojem se prošle godine novim koronavirusom već zarazilo tri četvrtine stanovništva. To je trebalo dovesti do stvaranja imunosti kod većine stanovnika, no ondje je nedavno ponovo naglo porastao broj zaraženih. To bi moglo značiti da imunost nastala prebolijevanjem bolesti ili cijepljenjem nije dovoljna, jer ju nova varijanta uspijeva izbjeći. Drugim riječima - i osobe koje su preboljele koronu kao i one koje su cijepljene mogu se ponovo zaraziti, izvjestio je DW.

Dugo vremena se uopće nije analiziralo od kojeg soja koronavirusa su pacijenti stvarno oboljeli. Pojedine zemlje su tek intenziviranom analizom sekvencija SARS-CoV-2 genoma otkrile koje se mutacije virusa šire upravo na njihovom području: britanska varijanta ili južnoafrička varijanta. Te države po kojima su novi sojevi virusa dobili ime nisu krive za njihov nastanak – one su samo posebno intenzivno istražile virus i pri tome bile prve koje su uočile njegove mutacije.

Tako je otkriveno da se varijanta B.1.1.7, koja se prošlog prosinca proširila najprije u Velikoj Britaniji, a potom i u Danskoj, i do 70 posto brže širi nego dotada poznata varijanta virusa. U međuvremenu je ta mutacija pronađena i kod zaraženih u drugim zemljama, pa i u Njemačkoj.

Mutacije virusa nisu ništa neobično, u prosjeku se svakog mjeseca kod virusa pojavljuju dvije nove varijante. No kod britanske varijante, čiji je genom u međuvremenu u potpunosti dešifriran, već je pronađeno 17 mutacija, što je začudilo virologe.

Razlog bržeg širenja može biti mala promjena na proteinu spike na površini virusa. Zahvaljujući njoj se virus može brže razmnožavati, prenositi ili lakše izbjeći imunosni sustav nego što je to slučaj kod izvornog koronavirusa. Time nastaje velika vjerojatnost da ta učinkovitija varijanta virusa prevlada lokalno ili regionalno.

Do sada još nije dovoljno istraženo djeluju li i ako da u kojoj mjeri mRNK-cjepiva i kod tih mutacija. Jer, ako se promijeni markantni dio virusa važan za njegovo prepoznavanje, antitijela koja stvara ljudski organizam mogla bi možda teže prepoznavati, pa time i slabije neutralizirati koronavirus. Onda bi cjepivo izgubilo na učinkovitosti.

Prema dosadašnjim spoznajama, cjepiva proizvođača BioNTecha/Pfizera i Moderne djeluju i protiv britanske varijante, jer ta mRNK-cjepiva se vežu baš na pogođenom proteinu spike. Daljnja istraživanja bi trebala pokazati u kojoj mjeri postojeća cjepiva djeluju protiv već poznatih mutacija i mogućih novih varijanti.

Ako bi virus pak tako jako mutirao da cjepivo više ne bi dobro djelovalo, mora se mijenjati sastav cjepiva. To, kažu iz BioNTecha i Pfizera, nije teško. Naime, genetski kod virusa sadržan u cjepivu može se promijeniti relativno lako u roku nekoliko tjedana, izvjestio je Deutsche Welle.

No testiranje i izdavanje dopuštenja za korištenje cjepiva, kao i njegova proizvodnja i isporuka, kao što je poznato, mogu potrajati. Već sada mnogi centri za cijepljenje željno iščekuju cjepivo čija je primjena već dopuštena.

U Velikoj Britaniji su otkriveni prvi slučajevi britanske varijante koronavirusa, koji u sebi nose dodatnu genetsku promjenu južnoafričke virusne linije. To je veoma zabrinjavajuće jer bi moglo doći do kombiniranja dvije negativne osobine. Britanska varijanta B.1.17 je virus već učinila znatno zaraznijim. Za razliku od britanskog mutanta, južnoafrička varijanta korone 501Y.V2 također u sebi nosi mutaciju E484K. Ista mutacija E484K nalazi se i u brazilskoj varijanti B.1.1.33 i B.1.1.28., javio je Deutsche Welle.

Istovremeno, u Njemačkoj je prvi put na jednom mjestu zabilježeno više zaraženih osoba novim sojem koronavirusa. Riječ je o berlinskoj bolnici koja je zbog toga sada cijela stavljena u karantenu.

Klinika Humboldt koja pripada lancu klinika koncerna Vivantes u potpunoj je karanteni. To je jedinstveni slučaj u Njemačkoj. Na kardiologiji te bolnice više pacijenata i medicinskih radnika su zaraženi "engleskim virusom", sojem koronavirusa B.1.1.7. koji je otkriven u Velikoj Britaniji.

Njemački glavni grad, koji je prošle jeseni bio jedno od žarišta zaraze, upravo je počeo bilježiti uspjehe pri izlasku iz drugog vala epidemije. Broj novozaraženih stalno je padao. Trenutno je incidencija u sedmodnevnom razdoblju pala na ispod 100, a to je i njemački prosjek. Također opada broj težih slučajeva u bolnicama.

A onda je uslijedio ovaj šok. Od 51 slučaja zaraze novim sojem virusa čak 24 ih je otkriveno u Berlinu. Podatke je 25. siječnja objavio Institut Robert Koch. Istovremeno je koncern Vivantes na konferenciji za medije priopćio da su prvi slučajevi bili poznati još prošli tjedan.

Kada je evidentirano učestalo izbijanje bolesti, bolnica je uvela karantenu. To je učinjeno u suradnji s Institutom Robert Koch, saveznom pokrajinom Berlin, nadležnim zdravstvenim zavodom i berlinskom klinikom Charite koja je centar kompetencije za covid-19. Cilj je da se otkriju svi kontakti koje su imali zaraženi.

Zabrinjava i brazilska varijanta, kod koje postoji mogućnost da više nije dovoljna imunost nastala nakon što je osoba preboljela zarazu koronavirusom ili je cijepljena. Najprije se pojavila u Manausu, glavnom gradu savezne države Amazone, u kojem se prošle godine novim koronavirusom već zarazilo tri četvrtine stanovništva. To je trebalo dovesti do stvaranja imunosti kod većine stanovnika, no ondje je nedavno ponovo naglo porastao broj zaraženih. To bi moglo značiti da imunost nastala prebolijevanjem bolesti ili cijepljenjem nije dovoljna, jer ju nova varijanta uspijeva izbjeći. Drugim riječima - i osobe koje su preboljele koronu kao i one koje su cijepljene mogu se ponovo zaraziti, izvjestio je DW.

Dugo vremena se uopće nije analiziralo od kojeg soja koronavirusa su pacijenti stvarno oboljeli. Pojedine zemlje su tek intenziviranom analizom sekvencija SARS-CoV-2 genoma otkrile koje se mutacije virusa šire upravo na njihovom području: britanska varijanta ili južnoafrička varijanta. Te države po kojima su novi sojevi virusa dobili ime nisu krive za njihov nastanak – one su samo posebno intenzivno istražile virus i pri tome bile prve koje su uočile njegove mutacije.

Tako je otkriveno da se varijanta B.1.1.7, koja se prošlog prosinca proširila najprije u Velikoj Britaniji, a potom i u Danskoj, i do 70 posto brže širi nego dotada poznata varijanta virusa. U međuvremenu je ta mutacija pronađena i kod zaraženih u drugim zemljama, pa i u Njemačkoj.

Mutacije virusa nisu ništa neobično, u prosjeku se svakog mjeseca kod virusa pojavljuju dvije nove varijante. No kod britanske varijante, čiji je genom u međuvremenu u potpunosti dešifriran, već je pronađeno 17 mutacija, što je začudilo virologe.

Razlog bržeg širenja može biti mala promjena na proteinu spike na površini virusa. Zahvaljujući njoj se virus može brže razmnožavati, prenositi ili lakše izbjeći imunosni sustav nego što je to slučaj kod izvornog koronavirusa. Time nastaje velika vjerojatnost da ta učinkovitija varijanta virusa prevlada lokalno ili regionalno.

Do sada još nije dovoljno istraženo djeluju li i ako da u kojoj mjeri mRNK-cjepiva i kod tih mutacija. Jer, ako se promijeni markantni dio virusa važan za njegovo prepoznavanje, antitijela koja stvara ljudski organizam mogla bi možda teže prepoznavati, pa time i slabije neutralizirati koronavirus. Onda bi cjepivo izgubilo na učinkovitosti.

Prema dosadašnjim spoznajama, cjepiva proizvođača BioNTecha/Pfizera i Moderne djeluju i protiv britanske varijante, jer ta mRNK-cjepiva se vežu baš na pogođenom proteinu spike. Daljnja istraživanja bi trebala pokazati u kojoj mjeri postojeća cjepiva djeluju protiv već poznatih mutacija i mogućih novih varijanti.

Ako bi virus pak tako jako mutirao da cjepivo više ne bi dobro djelovalo, mora se mijenjati sastav cjepiva. To, kažu iz BioNTecha i Pfizera, nije teško. Naime, genetski kod virusa sadržan u cjepivu može se promijeniti relativno lako u roku nekoliko tjedana, izvjestio je Deutsche Welle.

No testiranje i izdavanje dopuštenja za korištenje cjepiva, kao i njegova proizvodnja i isporuka, kao što je poznato, mogu potrajati. Već sada mnogi centri za cijepljenje željno iščekuju cjepivo čija je primjena već dopuštena.

U Velikoj Britaniji su otkriveni prvi slučajevi britanske varijante koronavirusa, koji u sebi nose dodatnu genetsku promjenu južnoafričke virusne linije. To je veoma zabrinjavajuće jer bi moglo doći do kombiniranja dvije negativne osobine. Britanska varijanta B.1.17 je virus već učinila znatno zaraznijim. Za razliku od britanskog mutanta, južnoafrička varijanta korone 501Y.V2 također u sebi nosi mutaciju E484K. Ista mutacija E484K nalazi se i u brazilskoj varijanti B.1.1.33 i B.1.1.28., javio je Deutsche Welle.

Istovremeno, u Njemačkoj je prvi put na jednom mjestu zabilježeno više zaraženih osoba novim sojem koronavirusa. Riječ je o berlinskoj bolnici koja je zbog toga sada cijela stavljena u karantenu.
