Kiša je gotovo prestala padati u nedjelju u Južnoafričkoj Republici, gdje su obalu pogodile poplave u kojima su poginule 443 osobe, pokazuju novi podatci, a desetci ljudi se još vode kao nestali.

Većina žrtava su stanovnici okolice Durbana, lučkog grada s 3,5 milijuna stanovnika u pokrajini KwaZulu Natal koja izlazi na Indijski ocean i gdje već tjedan dana pada jaka kiša koja uzrokuje odrone u kojima ima žrtava.

"Broj mrtvih popeo se na 443", rekao je ministar te pokrajine Sihle Zikalala na tiskovnoj konferenciji. Oko 60 ljudi se još vode kao nestali.

Kiša još pada na nekim mjestima, ali puno manje nego prethodnih dana. "Opasnost od poplave je danas mala u KwaZulu Natalu", rekao je za AFP meteorolog Puseletso Mofokeng iz Državnog meteorološkog zavoda. "Oborine će do srijede potpuno prestati", dodao je.

Ovih dana ministri i plemenski starješine, poglavica Zulua Misuzulu Zulu i predsjednik Cyril Ramaphosa koji je odgodio putovanje u inozemstvo, obišli su stradala područja kako bi procijenili razmjere štete i poduprli unesrećene.

Neke su obitelji u nekoliko sekunda ostale bez više članova. Djeca i novorođenčad su gubila život utapanjem i u blatnim bujicama.

Na Uskrs su s vjerskih okupljanja upućeni pozivi na molitvu za žrtve ove katastrofe.

"Ovo je tragedija strašnih razmjera", rekao je Thabo Makgoba, nadbiskup Cape Towna i nasljednik Desmonda Tutua, ocijenivši da je riječ o "stresu i bolnom događaju" za zajednicu.

Kiša je gotovo prestala padati u nedjelju u Južnoafričkoj Republici, gdje su obalu pogodile poplave u kojima su poginule 443 osobe, pokazuju novi podatci, a desetci ljudi se još vode kao nestali.

Većina žrtava su stanovnici okolice Durbana, lučkog grada s 3,5 milijuna stanovnika u pokrajini KwaZulu Natal koja izlazi na Indijski ocean i gdje već tjedan dana pada jaka kiša koja uzrokuje odrone u kojima ima žrtava.

"Broj mrtvih popeo se na 443", rekao je ministar te pokrajine Sihle Zikalala na tiskovnoj konferenciji. Oko 60 ljudi se još vode kao nestali.

Kiša još pada na nekim mjestima, ali puno manje nego prethodnih dana. "Opasnost od poplave je danas mala u KwaZulu Natalu", rekao je za AFP meteorolog Puseletso Mofokeng iz Državnog meteorološkog zavoda. "Oborine će do srijede potpuno prestati", dodao je.

Ovih dana ministri i plemenski starješine, poglavica Zulua Misuzulu Zulu i predsjednik Cyril Ramaphosa koji je odgodio putovanje u inozemstvo, obišli su stradala područja kako bi procijenili razmjere štete i poduprli unesrećene.

Neke su obitelji u nekoliko sekunda ostale bez više članova. Djeca i novorođenčad su gubila život utapanjem i u blatnim bujicama.

Na Uskrs su s vjerskih okupljanja upućeni pozivi na molitvu za žrtve ove katastrofe.

"Ovo je tragedija strašnih razmjera", rekao je Thabo Makgoba, nadbiskup Cape Towna i nasljednik Desmonda Tutua, ocijenivši da je riječ o "stresu i bolnom događaju" za zajednicu.

U poplavama u Južnoafričkoj Republici poginule 443 osobe, kiša polako prestaje padati

Kiša je gotovo prestala padati u nedjelju u Južnoafričkoj Republici, gdje su obalu pogodile poplave u kojima su poginule 443 osobe, pokazuju novi podatci, a desetci ljudi se još vode kao nestali.

Većina žrtava su stanovnici okolice Durbana, lučkog grada s 3,5 milijuna stanovnika u pokrajini KwaZulu Natal koja izlazi na Indijski ocean i gdje već tjedan dana pada jaka kiša koja uzrokuje odrone u kojima ima žrtava.

"Broj mrtvih popeo se na 443", rekao je ministar te pokrajine Sihle Zikalala na tiskovnoj konferenciji. Oko 60 ljudi se još vode kao nestali.

Kiša još pada na nekim mjestima, ali puno manje nego prethodnih dana. "Opasnost od poplave je danas mala u KwaZulu Natalu", rekao je za AFP meteorolog Puseletso Mofokeng iz Državnog meteorološkog zavoda. "Oborine će do...
