Iran je 2017. godine imao 50 geparda na svom tlu, a danas ih ima samo 12, upozorile su tamošnje vlasti koje su situaciju prozvale "veoma kritičnom" jer tamošnjoj najbržoj životinji prijeti izumiranje. "Trenutno imamo samo devet mužjaka i tri ženke naspram 100 koliko ih je bilo 2010. godine, i njihova situacija je izuzetno kritična", izvjestio je Hasan Akbari, zamjenik voditelja iranskog prirodnog okoliša i biološke raznolikosti.

Broj geparda se smanjio zbog suše, lovaca ili automobilskih nesreća, koje se događaju posebno u pustinji u centralnom dijelu Irana gdje se ove životinje obično nalaze, rekao je Akbari. Međunarodna unija za očuvanje prirode je klasificirala podvrstu geparda "acinonyx jubatus venaticus", koji je poznat kao azijski gepard, kao kritično ugroženu životinjsku vrstu. "Mjere koje smo poduzeli na povećanju zaštite i reprodukcije te postavljanje putokaza nisu bili dovoljni za spas ove vrste", dodao je iranski službenik.

Iran, jedna od posljednjih zemalja na svijetu kojoj gepardi žive u divljini, uz pomoć UN-a 2001. godine započeo je program zaštite ovih divljih mačaka. Geparda ima u velikom broju i na jugu Afrike, ali su iznimno rijetki sjeveru tog kontinenta i u Aziji, piše National Geographic. Gepard se smatra najbržom kopnenom životinjom na svijetu koja može dostići brzinu do 120 kilometara na sat.

Iran je 2017. godine imao 50 geparda na svom tlu, a danas ih ima samo 12, upozorile su tamošnje vlasti koje su situaciju prozvale "veoma kritičnom" jer tamošnjoj najbržoj životinji prijeti izumiranje. "Trenutno imamo samo devet mužjaka i tri ženke naspram 100 koliko ih je bilo 2010. godine, i njihova situacija je izuzetno kritična", izvjestio je Hasan Akbari, zamjenik voditelja iranskog prirodnog okoliša i biološke raznolikosti.

Broj geparda se smanjio zbog suše, lovaca ili automobilskih nesreća, koje se događaju posebno u pustinji u centralnom dijelu Irana gdje se ove životinje obično nalaze, rekao je Akbari. Međunarodna unija za očuvanje prirode je klasificirala podvrstu geparda "acinonyx jubatus venaticus", koji je poznat kao azijski gepard, kao kritično ugroženu životinjsku vrstu. "Mjere koje smo poduzeli na povećanju zaštite i reprodukcije te postavljanje putokaza nisu bili dovoljni za spas ove vrste", dodao je iranski službenik.

Iran, jedna od posljednjih zemalja na svijetu kojoj gepardi žive u divljini, uz pomoć UN-a 2001. godine započeo je program zaštite ovih divljih mačaka. Geparda ima u velikom broju i na jugu Afrike, ali su iznimno rijetki sjeveru tog kontinenta i u Aziji, piše National Geographic. Gepard se smatra najbržom kopnenom životinjom na svijetu koja može dostići brzinu do 120 kilometara na sat.

Iran je 2017. godine imao 50 geparda na svom tlu, a danas ih ima samo 12, upozorile su tamošnje vlasti koje su situaciju prozvale "veoma kritičnom" jer tamošnjoj najbržoj životinji prijeti izumiranje. "Trenutno imamo samo devet mužjaka i tri ženke naspram 100 koliko ih je bilo 2010. godine, i njihova situacija je izuzetno kritična", izvjestio je Hasan Akbari, zamjenik voditelja iranskog prirodnog okoliša i biološke raznolikosti.

Broj geparda se smanjio zbog suše, lovaca ili automobilskih nesreća, koje se događaju posebno u pustinji u centralnom dijelu Irana gdje se ove životinje obično nalaze, rekao je Akbari. Međunarodna unija za očuvanje prirode je klasificirala podvrstu geparda "acinonyx jubatus venaticus", koji je poznat kao azijski gepard, kao kritično...
