Sve učestalije su infekcije novim sojem omikron koronavirusa, podvrstom BA.5. Svjetska zdravstvena organizacija (WHO) je tu podvrstu soja omikron već označila kao "zabrinjavajuću". Njemački Institut Roberta Kocha (RKI) računa s tim da će se podvrsta BA.5, kao i druge podvrste soja omikron, brzo širiti jer one se lakše prenose nego recimo soj delta. Institut upozorava na opasnost porasta broja infekcija već tijekom ljeta, prenosi DW.

"Trenutno najveći rast pokazuju podvrste BA.4 i BA.5", objavio je RKI 9. lipnja. Institut iz toga izvodi zaključak da bi ove dvije podvrste soja omikron vrlo brzo mogle uzrokovati većinu novih infekcija. Već sad na podvrstu BA.5 otpada deset posto infekcija. To je dvostruko više nego početkom lipnja.

BA.5 se najprije pojavio u Južnoafričkoj Republici

Već početkom svibnja je podvrsta BA.5 izazvala zabrinutost u Južnoafričkoj Republici. Val je, međutim, bio slabiji nego prethodne podvrste i već je na izmaku. U Portugalu je, međutim, nova podvrsta BA.5 odgovorna za 80 posto novih infekcija. Ta dosad nepoznata podvrsta je zaraznija od prethodnih podvrsta soja omikron. Nju neutralizirajuća antitijela ne prepoznaju tako dobro i zato se ona brže širi. Ali, tijek bolesti je blaži nego kod soja delta.

Štiti li booster-cjepivo od infekcije podvrstama soja omikron?

Zaštita cjepivom protiv koronavirusa s vremenom popušta jer se smanjuje količina antitijela. Isto vrijedi za osobe koje su preboljele koronu. Tako ni cijepljeni ni oni koji su preboljeli koronu nemaju optimalnu zaštitu protiv podvrsta soja omikron i mogu se inficirati. Podvrsta BA.5 već se proširila u brojnim zemljama, primjerice u Portugalu, gdje je u novije vrijeme naglo porastao broj novih infekcija.

Nove infekcije podvrstama soja omikron su dakle moguće unatoč cijepljenju ili preboljenoj koroni i pojavljuju se češće nego infekcije sojem delta.

Ali ima manje smrtnih slučajeva i manje osoba mora na bolničko liječenje. Stručnjaci smatraju da je razlog tomu činjenica što su brojni ljudi već cijepljeni i imaju antitijela, iako se njihova količina s vremenom smanjuje. Opća imunost je veća nego na početku pandemije. Ipak, Institut Roberta Kocha preporučuje rizičnim skupinama i starijim ljudima ponovno cijepljenje booster-dozom, kako bi se povećala količina antitijela, piše DW.

Sve učestalije su infekcije novim sojem omikron koronavirusa, podvrstom BA.5. Svjetska zdravstvena organizacija (WHO) je tu podvrstu soja omikron već označila kao "zabrinjavajuću". Njemački Institut Roberta Kocha (RKI) računa s tim da će se podvrsta BA.5, kao i druge podvrste soja omikron, brzo širiti jer one se lakše prenose nego recimo soj delta. Institut upozorava na opasnost porasta broja infekcija već tijekom ljeta, prenosi DW.

"Trenutno najveći rast pokazuju podvrste BA.4 i BA.5", objavio je RKI 9. lipnja. Institut iz toga izvodi zaključak da bi ove dvije podvrste soja omikron vrlo brzo mogle uzrokovati većinu novih infekcija. Već sad na podvrstu BA.5 otpada deset posto infekcija. To je dvostruko više nego početkom lipnja.

BA.5 se najprije pojavio u Južnoafričkoj Republici

Već početkom svibnja je podvrsta BA.5 izazvala zabrinutost u Južnoafričkoj Republici. Val je, međutim, bio slabiji nego prethodne podvrste i već je na izmaku. U Portugalu je, međutim, nova podvrsta BA.5 odgovorna za 80 posto novih infekcija. Ta dosad nepoznata podvrsta je zaraznija od prethodnih podvrsta soja omikron. Nju neutralizirajuća antitijela ne prepoznaju tako dobro i zato se ona brže širi. Ali, tijek bolesti je blaži nego kod soja delta.

Štiti li booster-cjepivo od infekcije podvrstama soja omikron?

Zaštita cjepivom protiv koronavirusa s vremenom popušta jer se smanjuje količina antitijela. Isto vrijedi za osobe koje su preboljele koronu. Tako ni cijepljeni ni oni koji su preboljeli koronu nemaju optimalnu zaštitu protiv podvrsta soja omikron i mogu se inficirati. Podvrsta BA.5 već se proširila u brojnim zemljama, primjerice u Portugalu, gdje je u novije vrijeme naglo porastao broj novih infekcija.

Nove infekcije podvrstama soja omikron su dakle moguće unatoč cijepljenju ili preboljenoj koroni i pojavljuju se češće nego infekcije sojem delta.

Ali ima manje smrtnih slučajeva i manje osoba mora na bolničko liječenje. Stručnjaci smatraju da je razlog tomu činjenica što su brojni ljudi već cijepljeni i imaju antitijela, iako se njihova količina s vremenom smanjuje. Opća imunost je veća nego na početku pandemije. Ipak, Institut Roberta Kocha preporučuje rizičnim skupinama i starijim ljudima ponovno cijepljenje booster-dozom, kako bi se povećala količina antitijela, piše DW.

Sve učestalije su infekcije novim sojem omikron koronavirusa, podvrstom BA.5. Svjetska zdravstvena organizacija (WHO) je tu podvrstu soja omikron već označila kao "zabrinjavajuću". Njemački Institut Roberta Kocha (RKI) računa s tim da će se podvrsta BA.5, kao i druge podvrste soja omikron, brzo širiti jer one se lakše prenose nego recimo soj delta. Institut upozorava na opasnost porasta broja infekcija već tijekom ljeta, prenosi DW.

"Trenutno najveći rast pokazuju podvrste BA.4 i BA.5", objavio je RKI 9. lipnja. Institut iz toga izvodi zaključak da bi ove dvije podvrste soja omikron vrlo brzo mogle uzrokovati većinu novih infekcija. Već sad na podvrstu BA.5 otpada deset posto infekcija. To je dvostruko više nego početkom lipnja.
