Novinarka Laura Italiano dala je ostavku u New York Postu, nakon što je tvrdila da je bila prisiljena napisati netočnu priču o djeci migrantima i potpredsjednici Kamali Harris koja im je navodno pokušala uvaliti svoje knjige i na tome zaraditi. 

S tom pričom se nastojalo naštetiti potpredsjednici, navodeći čitatelje na zaključak da je Harris "zaradila" na posjetu, a što se kasnije pokazalo kao klasičan "fake news" plasiran od stane Trumpovih pristaša. 

Priču je kasnije preuzeo i notorni Fox News. 

New York Post objavio je 23. travnja priču s naslovom "Kam on in", u kojoj tvrdi da su djeci migrantima uručivani primjerci Harrisine knjige iz 2019. “Superheroji su svugdje“, kao dio kompleta dobrodošlice u Los Angelesu.

Naima, Kamala je, prije nego je postala potpredsjednica u administraciji Joea Bidena, bila senatorica i to za državu Kaliformiju u kojoj je Los Angeles najveći grad. Sacramento je, pak, glavni grad.

Italiano koja je zaslužna za pisanje spomenutog članka, u utorak je na Twitteru objavila da joj je rečeno da napiše "netočnu priču" zbog pritiska nadležnih u tabloidu.

"Danas sam predala ostavku svojim urednicima u New York Postu", rekla je novinarka. “Priča o Kamali Harris – netočna je priča koja mi je naređena i koju nisam uspila dovoljno snažno odgurnuti – ovaj čin bila je moja prijelomna točka nakon koje nisam mogla dalje.“ stoji u objavi na Twitteru.

“Bila mi je čast pokriti grad New York za njegov najživlji, najduhovitiji tabloid - list ispunjen novinarima i urednicima kojima se duboko divim i držim ih prijateljima. Tužna sam što odlazim. " kazala je Italiano za Guardian.

Cijela priča se temeljila na jednoj fotografiji knjige snimljene u kongresnom centru Long Beach u južnoj Kaliforniji.

"Izvorna verzija ovog članka govorila je da su djeca migranti dobivala Harrisovu knjigu u kompletu za dobrodošlicu, ali je istina da je samo jedno dijete dobilo primjerak knjige", navodi bivša novinarka New York Posta za Guardian.

Istraga Washington Posta otkrila je da se jedan primjerak knjige pojavio u objektu Long Beach kao dio knjiga i igračaka koje se planiraju donirati za djecu migrante.

“Grad Long Beach, u partnerstvu s kongresnim uredom i uredom za posjetitelje Long Beacha, ima gradski pogon knjiga i igračaka koji kontinuirano pruža podršku djeci migrantima koja privremeno borave u Long Beachu pri američkom Ministarstvu zdravstva i ljudskih prava Sklonište za usluge. Novinarka Laura Italiano dala je ostavku u New York Postu, nakon što je tvrdila da je bila prisiljena napisati netočnu priču o djeci migrantima i potpredsjednici Kamali Harris koja im je navodno pokušala uvaliti svoje knjige i na tome zaraditi. 

S tom pričom se nastojalo naštetiti potpredsjednici, navodeći čitatelje na zaključak da je Harris "zaradila" na posjetu, a što se kasnije pokazalo kao klasičan "fake news" plasiran od stane Trumpovih pristaša. 

Priču je kasnije preuzeo i notorni Fox News. 

New York Post objavio je 23. travnja priču s naslovom "Kam on in", u kojoj tvrdi da su djeci migrantima uručivani primjerci Harrisine knjige iz 2019. “Superheroji su svugdje“, kao dio kompleta dobrodošlice u Los Angelesu.

Naima, Kamala je, prije nego je postala potpredsjednica u administraciji Joea Bidena, bila senatorica i to za državu Kaliformiju u kojoj je Los Angeles najveći grad. Sacramento je, pak, glavni grad.

Italiano koja je zaslužna za pisanje spomenutog članka, u utorak je na Twitteru objavila da joj je rečeno da napiše "netočnu priču" zbog pritiska nadležnih u tabloidu.

"Danas sam predala ostavku svojim urednicima u New York Postu", rekla je novinarka. “Priča o Kamali Harris – netočna je priča koja mi je naređena i koju nisam uspila dovoljno snažno odgurnuti – ovaj čin bila je moja prijelomna točka nakon koje nisam mogla dalje.“ stoji u objavi na Twitteru.

“Bila mi je čast pokriti grad New York za njegov najživlji, najduhovitiji tabloid - list ispunjen novinarima i urednicima kojima se duboko divim i držim ih prijateljima. Tužna sam što odlazim. " kazala je Italiano za Guardian.

Cijela priča se temeljila na jednoj fotografiji knjige snimljene u kongresnom centru Long Beach u južnoj Kaliforniji.

"Izvorna verzija ovog članka govorila je da su djeca migranti dobivala Harrisovu knjigu u kompletu za dobrodošlicu, ali je istina da je samo jedno dijete dobilo primjerak knjige", navodi bivša novinarka New York Posta za Guardian.

Istraga Washington Posta otkrila je da se jedan primjerak knjige pojavio u objektu Long Beach kao dio knjiga i igračaka koje se planiraju donirati za djecu migrante.

“Grad Long Beach, u partnerstvu s kongresnim uredom i uredom za posjetitelje Long Beacha, ima gradski pogon knjiga i igračaka koji kontinuirano pruža podršku djeci migrantima koja privremeno borave u Long Beachu pri američkom Ministarstvu zdravstva i ljudskih prava Sklonište za usluge. Knjiga na koju se pozivate jedna je od stotina knjiga koje su već donirane. Knjigu nisu kupili HHS ili Grad. ”, rekao je Kevin Lee, glasnogovornik grada, za Washington Post.
