Prosvjednici u Mjanmaru u ponedjeljak i dalje traže oslobađanje svrgnute čelnice Aung San Suu Kyi i kraj vojne vladavine, nepokolebani potezom vojne hunte koja je u nekim dijelovima zemlje rasporedila borbena vozila i na ulice poslala dodatan broj vojnika.

Suu Kyi, pritvorena od vojnog puča 1. veljače, danas se trebala pojaviti na sudu kako bi se izjasnila o optužnici za ilegalan uvoz šest 'walkie'talkie' radio prijemnika, no sudac je rekao da njezin pritvor traje do srijede, objasnio je odvjetnik dobitnice Nobelove nagrade za mir Khin Maung Zaw.

Vojska je preuzela vlast u zemlji nakon optužbi da su parlamentarni izbori održani 8. studenoga, na kojima je stranka Suu Kyi pobijedila, kao i na izborima 2015., bili obilježeni neregularnostima i prevarom.

No, pritvaranje izabrane čelnice i drugih dužnosnika izazvalo je najveće prosvjede u Mjanmaru unazad desetak godina, sa stotinama tisuća ljudi na ulicama koji osuđuju vojni udar i pokušaj vojske da spriječi prijelaz zemlje u demokraciju.

"Ovo je borba za našu budućnost, budućnost naše zemlje", rekla je mlada prosvjednica Esther Ze Naw.

"Ne želimo živjeti pod vojnom diktaturom. Želimo uspostaviti stvarnu federalnu uniju u kojoj bi svi građani i etničke skupine bile jednako tretirane", dodala je.

Među prosvjednicima u glavnom gradu Naypyitawu su bili i novinari koji su nosili sliku Suu Kyi uz poruku: "Želimo našu čelnicu".

Uz prosvjede u brojnim gradovima i mjestima, vojska se suočava i sa štrajkom javnih djelatnika i radnika u vladinim institucijama kao dijela pokreta građanskog neposluha.

U nedjelju su oklopna borbena vozila raspoređena u Yangonu, sjevernom gradu Myitkyina i gradu Sittwe na zapadu zemlje.

Policiji je na ulicama kao pojačanje stigla i vojska kako bi lakše kontrolirala velike skupine, uključujući i pripadnike 77. lake pješadijske bojne, mobilne postrojbe poznate zbog brutalnog gušenja pobuna etničkih manjina.

Udruga političkih zatvorenika je objavila da je od državnog udara vojska uhitila najmanje 400 ljudi.

Prosvjednici u Mjanmaru u ponedjeljak i dalje traže oslobađanje svrgnute čelnice Aung San Suu Kyi i kraj vojne vladavine, nepokolebani potezom vojne hunte koja je u nekim dijelovima zemlje rasporedila borbena vozila i na ulice poslala dodatan broj vojnika.

Suu Kyi, pritvorena od vojnog puča 1. veljače, danas se trebala pojaviti na sudu kako bi se izjasnila o optužnici za ilegalan uvoz šest 'walkie'talkie' radio prijemnika, no sudac je rekao da njezin pritvor traje do srijede, objasnio je odvjetnik dobitnice Nobelove nagrade za mir Khin Maung Zaw.

Vojska je preuzela vlast u zemlji nakon optužbi da su parlamentarni izbori održani 8. studenoga, na kojima je stranka Suu Kyi pobijedila, kao i na izborima 2015., bili obilježeni neregularnostima i prevarom.

No, pritvaranje izabrane čelnice i drugih dužnosnika izazvalo je najveće prosvjede u Mjanmaru unazad desetak godina, sa stotinama tisuća ljudi na ulicama koji osuđuju vojni udar i pokušaj vojske da spriječi prijelaz zemlje u demokraciju.

"Ovo je borba za našu budućnost, budućnost naše zemlje", rekla je mlada prosvjednica Esther Ze Naw.

"Ne želimo živjeti pod vojnom diktaturom. Želimo uspostaviti stvarnu federalnu uniju u kojoj bi svi građani i etničke skupine bile jednako tretirane", dodala je.

Među prosvjednicima u glavnom gradu Naypyitawu su bili i novinari koji su nosili sliku Suu Kyi uz poruku: "Želimo našu čelnicu".

Uz prosvjede u brojnim gradovima i mjestima, vojska se suočava i sa štrajkom javnih djelatnika i radnika u vladinim institucijama kao dijela pokreta građanskog neposluha.

U nedjelju su oklopna borbena vozila raspoređena u Yangonu, sjevernom gradu Myitkyina i gradu Sittwe na zapadu zemlje.

Policiji je na ulicama kao pojačanje stigla i vojska kako bi lakše kontrolirala velike skupine, uključujući i pripadnike 77. lake pješadijske bojne, mobilne postrojbe poznate zbog brutalnog gušenja pobuna etničkih manjina.

Udruga političkih zatvorenika je objavila da je od državnog udara vojska uhitila najmanje 400 ljudi.

Prosvjednici u Mjanmaru u ponedjeljak i dalje traže oslobađanje svrgnute čelnice Aung San Suu Kyi i kraj vojne vladavine, nepokolebani potezom vojne hunte koja je u nekim dijelovima zemlje rasporedila borbena vozila i na ulice poslala dodatan broj vojnika.

Suu Kyi, pritvorena od vojnog puča 1. veljače, danas se trebala pojaviti na sudu kako bi se izjasnila o optužnici za ilegalan uvoz šest 'walkie'talkie' radio prijemnika, no sudac je rekao da njezin pritvor traje do srijede, objasnio je odvjetnik dobitnice Nobelove nagrade za mir Khin Maung Zaw.

Vojska je preuzela vlast u zemlji nakon optužbi da su parlamentarni izbori održani 8. studenoga, na kojima je stranka Suu Kyi pobijedila, kao i na izborima 2015., bili obilježeni neregularnostima i prevarom.
