Tri istraživačka tima uz podršku globalne koalicije uspostavljene za borbu protiv epidemija, započet će rad na razvijanju potencijalnih cjepiva protiv novog koronavirusa koji je identificiran u Kini.

Proces razvijanja novog cjepiva uobičajeno je trajao do desetljeće, ali Koalicija za epidemiološke inovacije u stanjima pripravnosti (CEPI), koja financira dva projekta, a sufinancira treći, kazala je kako je cilj puno brže razviti cjepivo.

Plan je CEPI-a imati barem jedno potencijalno cjepivo u fazi kliničkih ispitivanja do lipnja, što bi značilo da bi cjepivo moglo biti u potpunosti razvijeno i odobreno kroz godinu dana.

Istraživanje provodi farmaceutska tvrtka Moderna u suradnji s Nacionalnim institutom alergijskih i zaraznih bolesti SAD-a, američkom tvrtkom Inovio Pharma te s timom znanstvenika s australskog Sveučilišta u Queenslandu.

Svaki od tri projekta koristit će različit znanstveni pristup razvoju cjepiva.

Novi koronavirus, poznat pod nazivom nCoV-2019, prvotno je zabilježen u kineskom gradu Wuhanu, ali su do sada prijavljeni slučajevi zaraze u više zemalja.

Najmanje je 17 osoba umrlo, a 600 ih je zaraženo virusom koji uzrokuje slične simptome kao SARS ili MERS.

Svaki od tri projekta koristit će različit znanstveni pristup razvoju cjepiva. Strah od epidemije se širi, jer će milijuni Kineza ovog tjedna putovati svojim kućama na subotnju proslavu Nove godine.

Slučajevi zaraze ovim virusom identificirani su i izvan Kine, u Tajvanu, Filipinima, Tajlandu, Japanu, Južnoj Koreji, a u utorak je potvrđen i prvi slučaj u SAD-u.

Novi virus pripada skupini virusa koji je uzrokovao SARS, bolest od koje je prije 17 godina umrlo 800 ljudi širom svijeta, a također se počela širiti iz Kine.

Tri istraživačka tima uz podršku globalne koalicije uspostavljene za borbu protiv epidemija, započet će rad na razvijanju potencijalnih cjepiva protiv novog koronavirusa koji je identificiran u Kini.

Proces razvijanja novog cjepiva uobičajeno je trajao do desetljeće, ali Koalicija za epidemiološke inovacije u stanjima pripravnosti (CEPI), koja financira dva projekta, a sufinancira treći, kazala je kako je cilj puno brže razviti cjepivo.

Plan je CEPI-a imati barem jedno potencijalno cjepivo u fazi kliničkih ispitivanja do lipnja, što bi značilo da bi cjepivo moglo biti u potpunosti razvijeno i odobreno kroz godinu dana.

Istraživanje provodi farmaceutska tvrtka Moderna u suradnji s Nacionalnim institutom alergijskih i zaraznih bolesti SAD-a, američkom tvrtkom Inovio Pharma te s timom znanstvenika s australskog Sveučilišta u Queenslandu.

Svaki od tri projekta koristit će različit znanstveni pristup razvoju cjepiva.

Novi koronavirus, poznat pod nazivom nCoV-2019, prvotno je zabilježen u kineskom gradu Wuhanu, ali su do sada prijavljeni slučajevi zaraze u više zemalja.

Najmanje je 17 osoba umrlo, a 600 ih je zaraženo virusom koji uzrokuje slične simptome kao SARS ili MERS.

Svaki od tri projekta koristit će različit znanstveni pristup razvoju cjepiva. Strah od epidemije se širi, jer će milijuni Kineza ovog tjedna putovati svojim kućama na subotnju proslavu Nove godine.

Slučajevi zaraze ovim virusom identificirani su i izvan Kine, u Tajvanu, Filipinima, Tajlandu, Japanu, Južnoj Koreji, a u utorak je potvrđen i prvi slučaj u SAD-u.

Novi virus pripada skupini virusa koji je uzrokovao SARS, bolest od koje je prije 17 godina umrlo 800 ljudi širom svijeta, a također se počela širiti iz Kine.
