Svijet očito više ne može živjeti u izvanrednom stanju zbog pandemije koronavirusa. Jedna po jedna zemlja odustaju od COVID mjera; Velika Britanija, Danska, Francuska..., vraćaju se normalnom životu. Inflacija se rasplamsala. Nitko više ne može dopustiti luksuz privremenog zatvaranja tvrtki i obrti zbog sprječavanja širenja zaraze.
I obvezno nošenje maski diljem Europe iz dana u dan postaje stvar prošlosti, a tako je i s COVID potvrdama. Iako su ova ograničenja kod nas i dalje na snazi, svjesni smo da ih dobar dio ljudi potpuno ignorira. Hrvatska, dakle, nije daleko od situacije u kojoj će nesmetano dopustiti cirkuliranje virusa u populaciji, a da bi se u konačnici postigao tzv. imunitet krda. Tada se zaraza više ne bi smjela nekontrolirano širiti.
Bude li ovako, ispada da bi nakon dvije godine pandemije, karantena i drugih nepopularnih mjera kojima se nastojalo izolirati virus, moglo početi normalno živjeti s ovom bolešću, baš kao i sa svakom drugom. Koronavirus bi postao poput gripe, koja je, dok ju se nije stavilo pod kontrolu, uzela desetke milijune života.
Španjolska gripa ili kako su je naši stari zvali "španjolica", harala je svijetom od 1918. do 1920. godine i nije se puno razlikovala od "obične", sezonske. Nastala je kao rezultat virusa influence H1N1 koji je prije toga bio zabilježen samo kod ptica, jednako kao i koronavirus za kojeg danas postoje čvrsti dokazi da se s životinje, a najčešće se spominje šišmiš, prenio na čovjeka.
Nedavno je objavljeno da je koronavirus s čovjeka prešao na svinju, a upravo taj "transfer" je gripu "španjolicu" učinio tako opasnom da je na koncu zarazila, pretpostavlja se, oko sto milijuna ljudi, a umrlo ih je između dvadeset i pedeset milijuna.
Virus influence H1N1 prvo je, dakle, s ptica "preletio" na ljude, a onda na svinje, pa se razbuktao na sve strane svijeta i postao globalni problem broj jedan u godinama nakon Prvog svjetskog rata.
Postoje i druge sličnosti između Španjolske gripe i koronavirusa. I jedna i druga bolest pacijenta bi najčešće stajali života nakon upale pluća koja je često bila posljedica infekcije ovim virusima. Također, gripu i koronavirus nerijetko prate visoke temperature, opća slabost organizma, bol u kostima i mišićima te nagle promjene zdravstvenog stanja.
U trenutku se čini da je bolest nadvladana, a onda u samo nekoliko sati pacijent stigne do bolničkog odjela intenzivne njege i završi na respiratoru. Svemu tome, u oba slučaja, nerijetko prethodi snažan kašalj koji potpuno iscrpi bolesnika.
Od Španjolske gripe razboljelo se 27 posto svjetske populacije. Nakon toga, bolest je posustala. Hoće li tako biti i s koronavirusom kad smrt uzme svoj danak? Je li omikron posljednji soj Covida-19 koji će nam zadavati muke? Na ta pitanja znanost još nema odgovora, no nadati se da je korona konačno otplesala svoj krvavi pir. U Hrvatskoj se oko milijun ljudi zarazilo koronom, pa i to budi nadu da ćemo skoro steći imunitet krda.
Između Španjolske gripe i koronavirusa postoji jedna bitna razlika. Dok je opaka "španjolica" najviše pogađala populaciju između dvadeset i pedeset godina, danas od Covida-19 umiru mahom stariji ljudi s kroničnim bolestima. Treba imati na umu i to da je Španjolska gripa pogodila svijet nakon rata, pa su joj pogodovali opće siromaštvo i loši higijenski uvjeti.
Do sada je od korone u svijetu preminulo gotovo šest milijuna ljudi, a Hrvatska je posljednjih dana rekorder po smrtnosti u odnosu na broj stanovnika. Ohrabruje podatak da broj zaraženih, ipak, pada. Svjedočimo li zaista početku kraja?

Svijet očito više ne može živjeti u izvanrednom stanju zbog pandemije koronavirusa. Jedna po jedna zemlja odustaju od COVID mjera; Velika Britanija, Danska, Francuska..., vraćaju se normalnom životu. Inflacija se rasplamsala. Nitko više ne može dopustiti luksuz privremenog zatvaranja tvrtki i obrti zbog sprječavanja širenja zaraze.
I obvezno nošenje maski diljem Europe iz dana u dan postaje stvar prošlosti, a tako je i s COVID potvrdama. Iako su ova ograničenja kod nas i dalje na snazi, svjesni smo da ih dobar dio ljudi potpuno ignorira. Hrvatska, dakle, nije daleko od situacije u kojoj će nesmetano dopustiti cirkuliranje virusa u populaciji, a da bi se u konačnici postigao tzv. imunitet krda. Tada se zaraza više ne bi smjela nekontrolirano širiti.
Bude li ovako, ispada da bi nakon dvije godine pandemije, karantena i drugih nepopularnih mjera kojima se nastojalo izolirati virus, moglo početi normalno živjeti s ovom bolešću, baš kao i sa svakom drugom. Koronavirus bi postao poput gripe, koja je, dok ju se nije stavilo pod kontrolu, uzela desetke milijune života.
Španjolska gripa ili kako su je naši stari zvali "španjolica", harala je svijetom od 1918. do 1920. godine i nije se puno razlikovala od "obične", sezonske. Nastala je kao rezultat virusa influence H1N1 koji je prije toga bio zabilježen samo kod ptica, jednako kao i koronavirus za kojeg danas postoje čvrsti dokazi da se s životinje, a najčešće se spominje šišmiš, prenio na čovjeka.
Nedavno je objavljeno da je koronavirus s čovjeka prešao na svinju, a upravo taj "transfer" je gripu "španjolicu" učinio tako opasnom da je na koncu zarazila, pretpostavlja se, oko sto milijuna ljudi, a umrlo ih je između dvadeset i pedeset milijuna.
Virus influence H1N1 prvo je, dakle, s ptica "preletio" na ljude, a onda na svinje, pa se razbuktao na sve strane svijeta i postao globalni problem broj jedan u godinama nakon Prvog svjetskog rata.
Postoje i druge sličnosti između Španjolske gripe i koronavirusa. I jedna i druga bolest pacijenta bi najčešće stajali života nakon upale pluća koja je često bila posljedica infekcije ovim virusima. Također, gripu i koronavirus nerijetko prate visoke temperature, opća slabost organizma, bol u kostima i mišićima te nagle promjene zdravstvenog stanja.
U trenutku se čini da je bolest nadvladana, a onda u samo nekoliko sati pacijent stigne do bolničkog odjela intenzivne njege i završi na respiratoru. Svemu tome, u oba slučaja, nerijetko prethodi snažan kašalj koji potpuno iscrpi bolesnika.
Od Španjolske gripe razboljelo se 27 posto svjetske populacije. Nakon toga, bolest je posustala. Hoće li tako biti i s koronavirusom kad smrt uzme svoj danak? Je li omikron posljednji soj Covida-19 koji će nam zadavati muke? Na ta pitanja znanost još nema odgovora, no nadati se da je korona konačno otplesala svoj krvavi pir. U Hrvatskoj se oko milijun ljudi zarazilo koronom, pa i to budi nadu da ćemo skoro steći imunitet krda.
Između Španjolske gripe i koronavirusa postoji jedna bitna razlika. Dok je opaka "španjolica" najviše pogađala populaciju između dvadeset i pedeset godina, danas od Covida-19 umiru mahom stariji ljudi s kroničnim bolestima. Treba imati na umu i to da je Španjolska gripa pogodila svijet nakon rata, pa su joj pogodovali opće siromaštvo i loši higijenski uvjeti.
Do sada je od korone u svijetu preminulo gotovo šest milijuna ljudi, a Hrvatska je posljednjih dana rekorder po smrtnosti u odnosu na broj stanovnika. Ohrabruje podatak da broj zaraženih, ipak, pada. Svjedočimo li zaista početku kraja?
