Europske i azijske države u petak su postrožile restrikcije putovanja nakon što je u Južnoafričkoj Republici (JAR) otkrivena nova varijanta koronavirusa s najvećim brojem mutacija dosad, no za koju se još ne zna je li opasnija od dosadašnjih sojeva.

Velika Britanija zabranila je letove iz JAR-a i susjednih zemalja te je od britanskih turista koji tamo borave zatražila da odu u karantenu nakon povratka. Čelnica Europske komisije Ursula von der Leyen rekla je da će EU vjerojatno također zaustaviti letove iz te regije.

Znanstvenici i dalje istražuju novu varijantu B.1.1.529 koja bi na sastanku Svjetske zdravstvene organizacije u petak mogla dobiti i svoje grčko slovno ime, poput alfa, beta i delta soja. 

Istraživači su zabrinuti jer ova varijanta ima najveći broj mutacija dosad te se radikalno razlikuje od originalnog koronavirusa otkrivenog u kineskom Wuhanu, piše BBC, no dodaje da to ne znači da je nužno gora od onih dosadašnjih.

Britanski medij piše da se još uvijek ne zna širi li se varijanta iz JAR-a brže od delta soja, izaziva li teže oblike bolesti te može li zaobići imunosni odgovor postignut cjepivom. JAR je u četvrtak imao 2465 novih slučajeva, sa 114 smrtnih slučajeva. U toj zemlji s gotovo 60 milijuna ljudi cijepljeno je 23,8 posto stanovništva. 

Prekasno za postroživanje mjera?

Ipak, zabrinutost oko nove varijante utjecala je na svjetska tržišta zbog straha od utjecaja na pandemijom već pogođene ekonomije Afrike. 

Dosad je prijavljeno gotovo 100 sekvenci varijante, a rane analize pokazuju da „veliki broj mutacija“ zahtijeva dodatna istraživanja, rekao je glasnogovornik Svjetske zdravstvene organizacije Christian Lindmeier. 

Jedan epidemiolog naglasio je da je možda prekasno da se postrože mjere putovanja. 

„Mislim da moramo priznati da je ovaj virus već i na drugim mjestima. Pa ako zatvorimo vrata sada, svejedno će biti vjerojatno prekasno“, rekao je Ben Cowling sa sveučilišta u Hong Kongu, gdje se također pojavila južnoafrička varijanta, kao i u Bocvani.
Indija je svim pokrajinama naredila da testiraju i nadziru putnike s juga Afrike nakon što je ranije ovaj mjesec ublažila dio ograničenja putovanja. Ministarstvo zdravstva Singapura također je najavilo restrikcije. Italija je zabranila ulazak ljudima koji su posjetili države južne Afrike u zadnjih 14 dana, a mjere najavljuje i Njemačka. 

Japan je postrožio granične kontrole za posjetitelje iz JAR-a i još pet afričkih zemalja, a Tajvan će putnike iz tih područja stavljati u karantenu. 

Nova varijanta pojavljuje se uoči početka zime u Europi i SAD-u, kad ljudi više borave u zatvorenim prostorima, što je okruženje u kojem se bolje širi virus. 

Europske zemlje već su krenule s davanjem dodatnih, 'booster' doza cjepiva te uvode nove restriktivne mjere zbog četvrtog vala pandemije. Mnoge države obaraju rekordne dnevne brojeve novozaraženih.

Europske i azijske države u petak su postrožile restrikcije putovanja nakon što je u Južnoafričkoj Republici (JAR) otkrivena nova varijanta koronavirusa s najvećim brojem mutacija dosad, no za koju se još ne zna je li opasnija od dosadašnjih sojeva.

Velika Britanija zabranila je letove iz JAR-a i susjednih zemalja te je od britanskih turista koji tamo borave zatražila da odu u karantenu nakon povratka. Čelnica Europske komisije Ursula von der Leyen rekla je da će EU vjerojatno također zaustaviti letove iz te regije.

Znanstvenici i dalje istražuju novu varijantu B.1.1.529 koja bi na sastanku Svjetske zdravstvene organizacije u petak mogla dobiti i svoje grčko slovno ime, poput alfa, beta i delta soja. 

Istraživači su zabrinuti jer ova varijanta ima najveći broj mutacija dosad te se radikalno razlikuje od originalnog koronavirusa otkrivenog u kineskom Wuhanu, piše BBC, no dodaje da to ne znači da je nužno gora od onih dosadašnjih.

Britanski medij piše da se još uvijek ne zna širi li se varijanta iz JAR-a brže od delta soja, izaziva li teže oblike bolesti te može li zaobići imunosni odgovor postignut cjepivom. JAR je u četvrtak imao 2465 novih slučajeva, sa 114 smrtnih slučajeva. U toj zemlji s gotovo 60 milijuna ljudi cijepljeno je 23,8 posto stanovništva. 

Prekasno za postroživanje mjera?

Ipak, zabrinutost oko nove varijante utjecala je na svjetska tržišta zbog straha od utjecaja na pandemijom već pogođene ekonomije Afrike. 

Dosad je prijavljeno gotovo 100 sekvenci varijante, a rane analize pokazuju da „veliki broj mutacija“ zahtijeva dodatna istraživanja, rekao je glasnogovornik Svjetske zdravstvene organizacije Christian Lindmeier. 

Jedan epidemiolog naglasio je da je možda prekasno da se postrože mjere putovanja. 

„Mislim da moramo priznati da je ovaj virus već i na drugim mjestima. Pa ako zatvorimo vrata sada, svejedno će biti vjerojatno prekasno“, rekao je Ben Cowling sa sveučilišta u Hong Kongu, gdje se također pojavila južnoafrička varijanta, kao i u Bocvani.
Indija je svim pokrajinama naredila da testiraju i nadziru putnike s juga Afrike nakon što je ranije ovaj mjesec ublažila dio ograničenja putovanja. Ministarstvo zdravstva Singapura također je najavilo restrikcije. Italija je zabranila ulazak ljudima koji su posjetili države južne Afrike u zadnjih 14 dana, a mjere najavljuje i Njemačka. 

Japan je postrožio granične kontrole za posjetitelje iz JAR-a i još pet afričkih zemalja, a Tajvan će putnike iz tih područja stavljati u karantenu. 

Nova varijanta pojavljuje se uoči početka zime u Europi i SAD-u, kad ljudi više borave u zatvorenim prostorima, što je okruženje u kojem se bolje širi virus. 

Europske zemlje već su krenule s davanjem dodatnih, 'booster' doza cjepiva te uvode nove restriktivne mjere zbog četvrtog vala pandemije. Mnoge države obaraju rekordne dnevne brojeve novozaraženih.

Europske i azijske države u petak su postrožile restrikcije putovanja nakon što je u Južnoafričkoj Republici (JAR) otkrivena nova varijanta koronavirusa s najvećim brojem mutacija dosad, no za koju se još ne zna je li opasnija od dosadašnjih sojeva.

Velika Britanija zabranila je letove iz JAR-a i susjednih zemalja te je od britanskih turista koji tamo borave zatražila da odu u karantenu nakon povratka. Čelnica Europske komisije Ursula von der Leyen rekla je da će EU vjerojatno također zaustaviti letove iz te regije.

Znanstvenici i dalje istražuju novu varijantu B.1.1.529 koja bi na sastanku Svjetske zdravstvene organizacije u petak mogla dobiti i svoje grčko slovno ime, poput alfa, beta i delta soja. 

Istraživači su zabrinuti jer ova varijanta ima najveći broj mutacija...
