Joseph Joe Biden i službeno je nominiran za izazivača Donaldu Trumpu na predsjedničkim izborima u studenome.
Na započetoj virtualnoj konvenciji Demokratske stranke u Milwaukeeju javno je demonstrirao široku koaliciju otpora "pogrešnome predsjedniku“ u kojoj su se našli brojni uglednici: od bivše prve dame Michelle Obama, preko donedavnog Bidenova unutarstranačkog rivala Berniea Sandersa pa sve do istaknutog republikanca i Trumpova kritičara Johna Kasicha.
- Americi treba empatija, umjesto kaosa, podjela i emocionalne tuposti - poručila je tom prigodom Michelle Obama, kazavši sunarodnjacima da svi trebaju glasati za Joea Bidena kao da im o tome ovise životi.
- Joe nije savršen, nema savršenog predsjednika, no njegova poniznost i zrelost je ono za čime toliko nas trenutačno žudi. Joe Biden čitav svoj život služio je ovoj naciji a da pritom nije izgubio iz vida tko je on niti tko smo svi mi - istaknula je bivša prva dama u svom emocionalnom govoru.
Analitičari i američka javnost među najveće Bidenove izborne terete najčešće uvrštavaju njegove godine i dugogodišnju pripadnost političkom establishmentu. Bude li izabran u Bijelu kuću, s punih 78 godina bit će najstariji američki predsjednik u povijesti u svom prvom mandatu.
Na mladima svijet ostaje
Ovih su dana mediji u široj regiji kao zoran dokaz njegove vremešnosti izvukli Bidenovo svojedobno druženje s jugoslavenskim predsjednikom Titom. Kao senator iz Delawarea, naime, aktualni je Trumpov rival bio član delegacije bivšeg američkog predsjednika Jimmyja Cartera, koja je na čelu s čuvenim diplomatom Averellom Harrimanom 1979. doputovala na pogreb ideologa jugoslavenskog samoupravnog sistema Edvarda Kardelja.
Tom se prilikom Biden uspio upoznati s Titom te je zajedno s Averellom Harrimanom s njime razgovarao oko dva sata. Tito i Harriman govorili su o Drugom svjetskom ratu i razmjenjivali stavove o komunizmu i Staljinu, prisjećao se poslije Biden, a s vremena na vrijeme Harriman bi dobacio: "Reci mu što mladi o svemu misle, Joe!"
Neki srbijanski tabloidi ovaj su povijesni susret ovih dana prezentirali u svjetlu umobolno-urotničkih konstrukcija po kojima su Tito i Biden još tada, davne 1979., kovali svoje globalne planove protiv Srba.
Nije tajna da mediji pod Vučićevom kontrolom otvoreno navijaju za Bidenova konkurenta Trumpa i da mu priželjkuju još jedan mandat, premda je (ili baš zato) demokratski predsjednički kandidat izniman poznavatelj stanja i odnosa u našoj regiji, kao i čitavoj istočnoj Europi.
Biden je diplomatski veteran koji je naše krajeve pohodio na desetke puta, još u Titovu i kasnijem Tuđmanovu predsjedničkom mandatu. Zadnji put u Hrvatskoj je bio 2015., kao američki potpredsjednik i posebni gost predsjedničkog samita inicijative Brdo-Brijuni.
Prednost pred Trumpom
Najnovije ankete pred američke predsjedničke izbore govore da se prednost Joea Baidena pred Donaldom Trumpom postupno topi u usporedbi sa srpnjem: prema istraživanju instituta SSRS, koje prenosi CNN, ta je razlika pala s devet na čak četiri posto. Hoće li Biden uz potporu crne zamjenice Kamale Harris u uvjetima virtualne kampanje i otkazanih izbornih skupova uspjeti zadržati pristaše, uvjeriti neodlučne i motivirati umorne pitanje je za puno više od milijun dolara.
Mnogi marketinški stručnjaci su skeptični, jer je Trumpov rival za mnoge utjelovljenje dugogodišnjeg političkog statusa quo. Njegova figura ne reprezentira brojne nade crnoputih građana, Latinoamerikanaca, žena, mladih i progresivnih na način kao što to, primjerice, čini Alexandria Ocasio Cortez. Može li iskusni politički veteran, s diplomatskim počecima u Titovoj eri, američkom snu u 21. stoljeću udahnuti novu budućnost?

Joseph Joe Biden i službeno je nominiran za izazivača Donaldu Trumpu na predsjedničkim izborima u studenome.
Na započetoj virtualnoj konvenciji Demokratske stranke u Milwaukeeju javno je demonstrirao široku koaliciju otpora "pogrešnome predsjedniku“ u kojoj su se našli brojni uglednici: od bivše prve dame Michelle Obama, preko donedavnog Bidenova unutarstranačkog rivala Berniea Sandersa pa sve do istaknutog republikanca i Trumpova kritičara Johna Kasicha.
- Americi treba empatija, umjesto kaosa, podjela i emocionalne tuposti - poručila je tom prigodom Michelle Obama, kazavši sunarodnjacima da svi trebaju glasati za Joea Bidena kao da im o tome ovise životi.
- Joe nije savršen, nema savršenog predsjednika, no njegova poniznost i zrelost je ono za čime toliko nas trenutačno žudi. Joe Biden čitav svoj život služio je ovoj naciji a da pritom nije izgubio iz vida tko je on niti tko smo svi mi - istaknula je bivša prva dama u svom emocionalnom govoru.
Analitičari i američka javnost među najveće Bidenove izborne terete najčešće uvrštavaju njegove godine i dugogodišnju pripadnost političkom establishmentu. Bude li izabran u Bijelu kuću, s punih 78 godina bit će najstariji američki predsjednik u povijesti u svom prvom mandatu.
Na mladima svijet ostaje
Ovih su dana mediji u široj regiji kao zoran dokaz njegove vremešnosti izvukli Bidenovo svojedobno druženje s jugoslavenskim predsjednikom Titom. Kao senator iz Delawarea, naime, aktualni je Trumpov rival bio član delegacije bivšeg američkog predsjednika Jimmyja Cartera, koja je na čelu s čuvenim diplomatom Averellom Harrimanom 1979. doputovala na pogreb ideologa jugoslavenskog samoupravnog sistema Edvarda Kardelja.
Tom se prilikom Biden uspio upoznati s Titom te je zajedno s Averellom Harrimanom s njime razgovarao oko dva sata. Tito i Harriman govorili su o Drugom svjetskom ratu i razmjenjivali stavove o komunizmu i Staljinu, prisjećao se poslije Biden, a s vremena na vrijeme Harriman bi dobacio: "Reci mu što mladi o svemu misle, Joe!"
Neki srbijanski tabloidi ovaj su povijesni susret ovih dana prezentirali u svjetlu umobolno-urotničkih konstrukcija po kojima su Tito i Biden još tada, davne 1979., kovali svoje globalne planove protiv Srba.
Nije tajna da mediji pod Vučićevom kontrolom otvoreno navijaju za Bidenova konkurenta Trumpa i da mu priželjkuju još jedan mandat, premda je (ili baš zato) demokratski predsjednički kandidat izniman poznavatelj stanja i odnosa u našoj regiji, kao i čitavoj istočnoj Europi.
Biden je diplomatski veteran koji je naše krajeve pohodio na desetke puta, još u Titovu i kasnijem Tuđmanovu predsjedničkom mandatu. Zadnji put u Hrvatskoj je bio 2015., kao američki potpredsjednik i posebni gost predsjedničkog samita inicijative Brdo-Brijuni.
Prednost pred Trumpom
Najnovije ankete pred američke predsjedničke izbore govore da se prednost Joea Baidena pred Donaldom Trumpom postupno topi u usporedbi sa srpnjem: prema istraživanju instituta SSRS, koje prenosi CNN, ta je razlika pala s devet na čak četiri posto. Hoće li Biden uz potporu crne zamjenice Kamale Harris u uvjetima virtualne kampanje i otkazanih izbornih skupova uspjeti zadržati pristaše, uvjeriti neodlučne i motivirati umorne pitanje je za puno više od milijun dolara.
Mnogi marketinški stručnjaci su skeptični, jer je Trumpov rival za mnoge utjelovljenje dugogodišnjeg političkog statusa quo. Njegova figura ne reprezentira brojne nade crnoputih građana, Latinoamerikanaca, žena, mladih i progresivnih na način kao što to, primjerice, čini Alexandria Ocasio Cortez. Može li iskusni politički veteran, s diplomatskim počecima u Titovoj eri, američkom snu u 21. stoljeću udahnuti novu budućnost?
