Prošle je godine registrirano 136.000 novozaraženih, što je 80 posto više nego u 2004., priopćili su Europski centar za prevenciju i kontrolu bolesti (ECDC) u Stockholmu i europski ured Svjetske zdravstvene organizacije (WHO) u Kopenhagenu.

U 28 država članica EU-a te Norveškoj, Islandu i Lihtenštajnu (EU/EEA) zabilježeno je 28.000 novih slučajeva, dok ih je u Rusiji otkriveno 80.000, kažu agencije.

"Naši podaci jasno govore da najrizičnije populacije nisu učinkovito pokrivene, osobito muškarci koji imaju spolne odnose s muškarcima", rekao je direktor ECDC-a Marc Sprenger.

Podaci pokazuju da su u bloku država EU/EEA 42 posto novozaraženih homoseksualci. U usporedbi s 2004., broj inficiranih HIV-om porastao je 33 posto.

"Zbog toga bi prevencija i kontrola HIV-a među gay populacijom trebala biti kamen temeljac nacionalnih programa borbe protiv HIV-a diljem Europe", dodao je Sprenger.

Kasna dijagnoza HIV-a ostaje veliki problem, upozorila je regionalna direktorica WHO-a za Europu Zsuzsanna Jakab.

"U istočnoj Europi, na koju se odnosi 77 posto novih slučajeva, dvije trećine među narkomanima otkrivene su kasno", rekla je.

"To znači da će dalje prenositi bolest, da je njihovo liječenje skuplje i da će vjerojatno umrijeti", istaknula je Jakab.

Agencije pozivaju da se ulože veći napori u savjetovanja i lakši pristup testiranju najriskantnijih skupina kako bi se osigurali ranija dijagnoza i liječenje.

Europski ured UN-a pokriva 53 europske zemlje, a podaci za Uzbekistan i Turkmenistan nisu bili dostupni.

Prošle je godine registrirano 136.000 novozaraženih, što je 80 posto više nego u 2004., priopćili su Europski centar za prevenciju i kontrolu bolesti (ECDC) u Stockholmu i europski ured Svjetske zdravstvene organizacije (WHO) u Kopenhagenu.

U 28 država članica EU-a te Norveškoj, Islandu i Lihtenštajnu (EU/EEA) zabilježeno je 28.000 novih slučajeva, dok ih je u Rusiji otkriveno 80.000, kažu agencije.

"Naši podaci jasno govore da najrizičnije populacije nisu učinkovito pokrivene, osobito muškarci koji imaju spolne odnose s muškarcima", rekao je direktor ECDC-a Marc Sprenger.

Podaci pokazuju da su u bloku država EU/EEA 42 posto novozaraženih homoseksualci. U usporedbi s 2004., broj inficiranih HIV-om porastao je 33 posto.

"Zbog toga bi prevencija i kontrola HIV-a među gay populacijom trebala biti kamen temeljac nacionalnih programa borbe protiv HIV-a diljem Europe", dodao je Sprenger.

Kasna dijagnoza HIV-a ostaje veliki problem, upozorila je regionalna direktorica WHO-a za Europu Zsuzsanna Jakab.

"U istočnoj Europi, na koju se odnosi 77 posto novih slučajeva, dvije trećine među narkomanima otkrivene su kasno", rekla je.

"To znači da će dalje prenositi bolest, da je njihovo liječenje skuplje i da će vjerojatno umrijeti", istaknula je Jakab.

Agencije pozivaju da se ulože veći napori u savjetovanja i lakši pristup testiranju najriskantnijih skupina kako bi se osigurali ranija dijagnoza i liječenje.

Europski ured UN-a pokriva 53 europske zemlje, a podaci za Uzbekistan i Turkmenistan nisu bili dostupni.
