Vlasti grčkog otoka Rodosa evakuirale su do nedjelje ujutro stanovništvo i turiste iz mjesta na tom otoku u Egejskom moru, njih oko 30.000, zbog šumskih požara koji haraju već pet dana.

Vjetrovi i devet kilometara duga požarna fronta od središta otoka prema istočnim  plažama  stvorili su ekstremne uvjete, rekao je glasnogovornik vatrogasne službe Vasilis Vartakojanis.

"Ovo nije požar koji će biti ugašen sutra ili prekosutra. Imat ćemo s njim posla danima", dodao je Vartakojanis.

Zamjenik gradonačelnika Konstantinos Taraslias je pojasnio da se vjetar jutros okrenuo za 180 stupnjeva te je požar ojačao, protežući se kilometrima prema turističkom području.

Ministarstvo vanjskih poslova je priopćilo da je aktiviran krizni menadžment kako bi se evakuirali strani državljani.

George Hadjimarkos, regionalni guverner, rekao je da je operacija, koja je u tijeku, usporena zbog požara koji su se odsjekli neke cestovne pravce.

"Cilj nam je zaštititi ljudske živote", rekao je guverner.

Turisti i neki mještani su premješteni u sportske dvorane, škole i konferencijske centre na otoku i tamo će ostati tijekom noći, dok se vatrogasci nastavljaju boriti s vatrenom stihijom. Evakuirani turisti su smješteni i na tri trajekta usidrena u luci na Rodosu. U evakuaciji sudjeluju lokalne vlasti, obalna straža i vojska.

U gašenju požara na Rodosu sudjeluje oko 200 vatrogasaca i pet helikoptera.

Trenutno se vodi bitka da se ugase požari kod Laermona i Lardosa. U unutrašnjosti otoka požar je stigao do mjestaa Laerma, gdje gore kuće i crkva.

Vlasti grčkog otoka Rodosa evakuirale su do nedjelje ujutro stanovništvo i turiste iz mjesta na tom otoku u Egejskom moru, njih oko 30.000, zbog šumskih požara koji haraju već pet dana.

Vjetrovi i devet kilometara duga požarna fronta od središta otoka prema istočnim  plažama  stvorili su ekstremne uvjete, rekao je glasnogovornik vatrogasne službe Vasilis Vartakojanis.

"Ovo nije požar koji će biti ugašen sutra ili prekosutra. Imat ćemo s njim posla danima", dodao je Vartakojanis.

Zamjenik gradonačelnika Konstantinos Taraslias je pojasnio da se vjetar jutros okrenuo za 180 stupnjeva te je požar ojačao, protežući se kilometrima prema turističkom području.

Ministarstvo vanjskih poslova je priopćilo da je aktiviran krizni menadžment kako bi se evakuirali strani državljani.

George Hadjimarkos, regionalni guverner, rekao je da je operacija, koja je u tijeku, usporena zbog požara koji su se odsjekli neke cestovne pravce.

"Cilj nam je zaštititi ljudske živote", rekao je guverner.

Turisti i neki mještani su premješteni u sportske dvorane, škole i konferencijske centre na otoku i tamo će ostati tijekom noći, dok se vatrogasci nastavljaju boriti s vatrenom stihijom. Evakuirani turisti su smješteni i na tri trajekta usidrena u luci na Rodosu. U evakuaciji sudjeluju lokalne vlasti, obalna straža i vojska.

U gašenju požara na Rodosu sudjeluje oko 200 vatrogasaca i pet helikoptera.

Trenutno se vodi bitka da se ugase požari kod Laermona i Lardosa. U unutrašnjosti otoka požar je stigao do mjestaa Laerma, gdje gore kuće i crkva.

Golemi požar hara grčkim otokom: evakuirano 30.000 ljudi, ceste odsječene, a vjetar divlja. ‘Cilj je spasiti živote‘

Vlasti grčkog otoka Rodosa evakuirale su do nedjelje ujutro stanovništvo i turiste iz mjesta na tom otoku u Egejskom moru, njih oko 30.000, zbog šumskih požara koji haraju već pet dana.

Vjetrovi i devet kilometara duga požarna fronta od središta otoka prema istočnim  plažama  stvorili su ekstremne uvjete, rekao je glasnogovornik vatrogasne službe Vasilis Vartakojanis.

"Ovo nije požar koji će biti ugašen sutra ili prekosutra. Imat ćemo s njim posla danima", dodao je Vartakojanis.

Zamjenik gradonačelnika Konstantinos Taraslias je pojasnio da se vjetar jutros okrenuo za 180 stupnjeva te je požar ojačao, protežući se kilometrima prema turističkom području.

Ministarstvo vanjskih poslova je priopćilo da je aktiviran krizni menadžment kako bi se evakuirali strani državljani.

George Hadjimarkos, regionalni guverner, rekao je da je operacija, koja je u tijeku, usporena zbog požara koji su se odsjekli neke cestovne pravce.

"Cilj nam je zaštititi ljudske živote", rekao je guverner.

Turisti i neki mještani su premješteni u sportske dvorane, škole i konferencijske centre na otoku i tamo će ostati tijekom noći, dok se vatrogasci nastavljaju boriti s vatrenom stihijom. Evakuirani turisti su smješteni i na tri trajekta usidrena u luci na Rodosu. U evakuaciji sudjeluju lokalne vlasti, obalna straža i vojska.

U gašenju požara na Rodosu sudjeluje oko 200 vatrogasaca i pet helikoptera.

Trenutno se vodi bitka da se ugase požari kod Laermona i Lardosa. U unutrašnjosti otoka požar je stigao do mjestaa Laerma, gdje gore kuće i crkva.
