Turska nije pomogla u rješavanju spora oko resursa prirodnog plina u istočnom Sredozemlju pa je predsjednik Europskog vijeća Charles Michel istaknuo spremnost EU-a da uvede sankcije toj zemlji. 

Na prošlom samitu EU-a, održanom u listopadu, od Turske se tražilo da odustane od provokacija u istočnom Sredozemlju, gdje istražuje plin i naftu. Grčka i Cipar smatraju, naime, da Turska ugrožava njihovu sigurnost pa sporna bušenja u potrazi za plinom u istočnom Sredozemlju treba ograničiti na svoje teritorijalno more. Šefovi diplomacija zemalja Europske unije koji su radili na procjeni osnova za ekonomske sankcije nakon dva mjeseca konstatirali su kako je Turska dodatno pogoršala tenzije kada je Unija najavila mogućnost sankcija.

Turski predsjednik Recep Tayyip Erdogan već prije je poručio kako njegova zemlja neće popustiti pred prijetnjama i ucjenama, ali je izrazio spremnost na pregovore o sporu oko prava na korištenje resursa u istočnom Sredozemlju.

Prema analizi Međunarodnog instituta IFIMES iz Ljubljane, istočni Mediteran doživljava novi ciklus političke napetosti između Turske i Grčke, članica sjevernoatlantskog saveza NATO, a premda se spor vrti oko prirodnih resursa poput plina, zapravo je razbuktavanje starog povijesnog neprijateljstva što proizlazi iz sporazuma u kojem su zacrtane današnje granice Turske nakon raspada Osmanskoga Carstva. Povijesno pamćenje i dalje ostavlja svoj trag na sadašnjost pa Institut navodi kako napetosti između Turske i Grčke nisu samo pitanje prirodnih bogatstava, otkrivenih posljednjih nekoliko godina, nego imaju korijene u povijesnim nesuglasicama, koje datiraju gotovo cijelo stoljeće, a turska vlada želi ispraviti tu povijesnu (ne)pravdu.

Kako Grčka i Cipar smatraju da Turska ugrožava njihovu sigurnost, još sredinom srpnja tražile su da se EU pozabavi sankcijama protiv Ankare, a prijepor i dalje eskalira. DW podsjeća kako su u međuvremenu održane vojne vježbe, a govorilo se i o razlogu za rat, pa su ministri vanjskih poslova EU-a krajem kolovoza dali nalog za izradu popisa mogućih konkretnih sankcija.

Prema procjeni politologa Vedrana Obućine, europske sankcije najviše bi mogle ciljati pojedince i tvrtke koje su povezane s energetikom.

– No, u konačnici mislim da će to biti više simboličan potez Europske unije jer koliko god, s jedne strane, turska politika šteti interesima Grčke i Cipra, toliko je Ankara važna za druge energetske tokove, prije svega TAP ili Transjadranski plinovod, koji kaspijski plin preko Turske dovodi Grčkoj, Albaniji i Italiji, a tu su i drugi energetski pravci prema Balkanu – podsjetio je specijalist za Bliski istok.

Naš sugovornik kaže kako je moguće da će Turska opet reagirati prijetnjama vezanim uz oko tri milijuna izbjeglica koji se nalaze u toj zemlji, kao i daljnjim pokušajima prevladavanja na Mediteranu kroz kontrapolitiku Francuskoj, ali i Izraelu i Egiptu, koji su, također, europski saveznici.

– Mislim da su se politike sankcija pokazale poprilično neučinkovitima pa je pitanje hoće li ovaj potez imati neke konkretne ciljeve ili je to tek spašavanje obraza pred očitim nejedinstvom europskih država oko tog pitanja – zaključio je Obućina.

Turska nije pomogla u rješavanju spora oko resursa prirodnog plina u istočnom Sredozemlju pa je predsjednik Europskog vijeća Charles Michel istaknuo spremnost EU-a da uvede sankcije toj zemlji. 

Na prošlom samitu EU-a, održanom u listopadu, od Turske se tražilo da odustane od provokacija u istočnom Sredozemlju, gdje istražuje plin i naftu. Grčka i Cipar smatraju, naime, da Turska ugrožava njihovu sigurnost pa sporna bušenja u potrazi za plinom u istočnom Sredozemlju treba ograničiti na svoje teritorijalno more. Šefovi diplomacija zemalja Europske unije koji su radili na procjeni osnova za ekonomske sankcije nakon dva mjeseca konstatirali su kako je Turska dodatno pogoršala tenzije kada je Unija najavila mogućnost sankcija.

Turski predsjednik Recep Tayyip Erdogan već prije je poručio kako njegova zemlja neće popustiti pred prijetnjama i ucjenama, ali je izrazio spremnost na pregovore o sporu oko prava na korištenje resursa u istočnom Sredozemlju.

Prema analizi Međunarodnog instituta IFIMES iz Ljubljane, istočni Mediteran doživljava novi ciklus političke napetosti između Turske i Grčke, članica sjevernoatlantskog saveza NATO, a premda se spor vrti oko prirodnih resursa poput plina, zapravo je razbuktavanje starog povijesnog neprijateljstva što proizlazi iz sporazuma u kojem su zacrtane današnje granice Turske nakon raspada Osmanskoga Carstva. Povijesno pamćenje i dalje ostavlja svoj trag na sadašnjost pa Institut navodi kako napetosti između Turske i Grčke nisu samo pitanje prirodnih bogatstava, otkrivenih posljednjih nekoliko godina, nego imaju korijene u povijesnim nesuglasicama, koje datiraju gotovo cijelo stoljeće, a turska vlada želi ispraviti tu povijesnu (ne)pravdu.

Kako Grčka i Cipar smatraju da Turska ugrožava njihovu sigurnost, još sredinom srpnja tražile su da se EU pozabavi sankcijama protiv Ankare, a prijepor i dalje eskalira. DW podsjeća kako su u međuvremenu održane vojne vježbe, a govorilo se i o razlogu za rat, pa su ministri vanjskih poslova EU-a krajem kolovoza dali nalog za izradu popisa mogućih konkretnih sankcija.

Prema procjeni politologa Vedrana Obućine, europske sankcije najviše bi mogle ciljati pojedince i tvrtke koje su povezane s energetikom.

– No, u konačnici mislim da će to biti više simboličan potez Europske unije jer koliko god, s jedne strane, turska politika šteti interesima Grčke i Cipra, toliko je Ankara važna za druge energetske tokove, prije svega TAP ili Transjadranski plinovod, koji kaspijski plin preko Turske dovodi Grčkoj, Albaniji i Italiji, a tu su i drugi energetski pravci prema Balkanu – podsjetio je specijalist za Bliski istok.

Naš sugovornik kaže kako je moguće da će Turska opet reagirati prijetnjama vezanim uz oko tri milijuna izbjeglica koji se nalaze u toj zemlji, kao i daljnjim pokušajima prevladavanja na Mediteranu kroz kontrapolitiku Francuskoj, ali i Izraelu i Egiptu, koji su, također, europski saveznici.

– Mislim da su se politike sankcija pokazale poprilično neučinkovitima pa je pitanje hoće li ovaj potez imati neke konkretne ciljeve ili je to tek spašavanje obraza pred očitim nejedinstvom europskih država oko tog pitanja – zaključio je Obućina.

Europska unija i dalje prijeti sankcijama Turskoj, ali Erdogana to ne brine: Nećemo popustiti pred prijetnjama i ucjenama

Turska nije pomogla u rješavanju spora oko resursa prirodnog plina u istočnom Sredozemlju pa je predsjednik Europskog vijeća Charles Michel istaknuo spremnost EU-a da uvede sankcije toj zemlji. 

Na prošlom samitu EU-a, održanom u listopadu, od Turske se tražilo da odustane od provokacija u istočnom Sredozemlju, gdje istražuje plin i naftu. Grčka i Cipar smatraju, naime, da Turska ugrožava njihovu sigurnost pa sporna bušenja u potrazi za plinom u istočnom Sredozemlju treba ograničiti na svoje teritorijalno more. Šefovi diplomacija zemalja Europske unije koji su radili na procjeni osnova za ekonomske sankcije nakon dva mjeseca konstatirali su kako je Turska dodatno pogoršala tenzije kada je Unija najavila mogućnost sankcija.
