Islandski dužnosnik opisao je erupciju vulkana kao "najgori mogući scenarij" unatoč mjesecima priprema.

Direktor civilne obrane, Vidir Reynisson, rekao je da su barijere izgrađene sjeverno od Grindavika prije prve erupcije u prosincu. No, glavni tok lave izašao je iz tih barijera, a nova pukotina koja se pojavila unutar njih je “najgori mogući scenarij”.

Jedna od opcija koja se razmatra je upotreba pumpi za hlađenje lave morskom vodom kako bi se ograničila šteta, prenosi SkyNews.

Grindavik, grad od 3800 ljudi, nalazi se oko 50 km jugozapadno od Reykjavika, glavnog grada Islanda. Kako prenosi BBC, lava u tom gradu guta kuće i zgrade nakon što su se otvorile dvije pukotine.

Cijelo stanovništvo je evakuirano iz grada. Islandski meteorološki ured (IMO) priopćio je da je probijanje barijera na nekim mjestima omogućilo da lava dođe do grada, nakon čega su se neke kuće i zgrade zapalile.

Znanstveni novinar i vulkanolog Robin Andrews rekao je da je ova erupcija “ekstremno opasna i štetna situacija”, osobito sada kada je lava prodrla u grad.

Za BBC je kazao da izlijevanje lave ne pokazuje “nikakav znak usporavanja”, a dodao je da trenutno nije moguće procijeniti razmjere štete.

Upozorio je da bi se posljedice erupcije mogle pokazati “prilično problematičnim” za ljude s već postojećim respiratornim problemima, jer vulkanska aktivnost oslobađa plinove poput sumpornog dioksida, koji je iritira kožu, oči, nos i grlo.

“Danas je crni dan za Grindavik i danas je crni dan za cijeli Island, ali sunce će ponovno izaći”, rekla je premijerka Katrín Jakobsdóttir koja je najavila da će se vlada sastati u ponedjeljak kako bi se dogovorili o mjerama za građane koji su evakuirani.

Islandski dužnosnik opisao je erupciju vulkana kao "najgori mogući scenarij" unatoč mjesecima priprema.

Direktor civilne obrane, Vidir Reynisson, rekao je da su barijere izgrađene sjeverno od Grindavika prije prve erupcije u prosincu. No, glavni tok lave izašao je iz tih barijera, a nova pukotina koja se pojavila unutar njih je “najgori mogući scenarij”.

Jedna od opcija koja se razmatra je upotreba pumpi za hlađenje lave morskom vodom kako bi se ograničila šteta, prenosi SkyNews.

Grindavik, grad od 3800 ljudi, nalazi se oko 50 km jugozapadno od Reykjavika, glavnog grada Islanda. Kako prenosi BBC, lava u tom gradu guta kuće i zgrade nakon što su se otvorile dvije pukotine.

Cijelo stanovništvo je evakuirano iz grada. Islandski meteorološki ured (IMO) priopćio je da je probijanje barijera na nekim mjestima omogućilo da lava dođe do grada, nakon čega su se neke kuće i zgrade zapalile.

Znanstveni novinar i vulkanolog Robin Andrews rekao je da je ova erupcija “ekstremno opasna i štetna situacija”, osobito sada kada je lava prodrla u grad.

Za BBC je kazao da izlijevanje lave ne pokazuje “nikakav znak usporavanja”, a dodao je da trenutno nije moguće procijeniti razmjere štete.

Upozorio je da bi se posljedice erupcije mogle pokazati “prilično problematičnim” za ljude s već postojećim respiratornim problemima, jer vulkanska aktivnost oslobađa plinove poput sumpornog dioksida, koji je iritira kožu, oči, nos i grlo.

“Danas je crni dan za Grindavik i danas je crni dan za cijeli Island, ali sunce će ponovno izaći”, rekla je premijerka Katrín Jakobsdóttir koja je najavila da će se vlada sastati u ponedjeljak kako bi se dogovorili o mjerama za građane koji su evakuirani.

Dramatične scene s Islanda: otvorile se pukotine, lava prodrla u grad, guta kuće i zgrade

Islandski dužnosnik opisao je erupciju vulkana kao "najgori mogući scenarij" unatoč mjesecima priprema.

Direktor civilne obrane, Vidir Reynisson, rekao je da su barijere izgrađene sjeverno od Grindavika prije prve erupcije u prosincu. No, glavni tok lave izašao je iz tih barijera, a nova pukotina koja se pojavila unutar njih je “najgori mogući scenarij”.

Jedna od opcija koja se razmatra je upotreba pumpi za hlađenje lave morskom vodom kako bi se ograničila šteta, prenosi SkyNews.

Grindavik, grad od 3800 ljudi, nalazi se oko 50 km jugozapadno od Reykjavika, glavnog grada Islanda. Kako prenosi BBC, lava u tom gradu guta kuće i zgrade nakon što su se otvorile dvije pukotine.

Cijelo stanovništvo je evakuirano iz grada. Islandski meteorološki ured (IMO) priopćio je da je probijanje barijera na nekim mjestima omogućilo da lava dođe do grada, nakon čega su se neke kuće i zgrade zapalile.

Znanstveni novinar i vulkanolog Robin Andrews rekao je da je ova erupcija “ekstremno opasna i štetna situacija”, osobito sada kada je lava prodrla u grad.

Za BBC je kazao da izlijevanje lave ne pokazuje “nikakav znak usporavanja”, a dodao je da trenutno nije moguće procijeniti razmjere štete.

Upozorio je da bi se posljedice erupcije mogle pokazati “prilično problematičnim” za ljude s već postojećim respiratornim problemima, jer vulkanska aktivnost oslobađa plinove poput sumpornog dioksida, koji je iritira kožu, oči, nos i grlo.

“Danas je crni dan za Grindavik i danas je crni dan za cijeli Island, ali sunce će ponovno izaći”, rekla je premijerka Katrín Jakobsdóttir koja je najavila da će se vlada sastati u ponedjeljak kako bi se dogovorili o mjerama za građane koji su evakuirani.
