Veći je rizik od pojave krvnih ugrušaka u mozgu od zaraze koronavirusom nego od cjepiva protiv te bolesti, objavili su britanski znanstvenici u četvrtak nakon što su izvještaji o pojavi krvnih ugrušaka ugrozili kampanje cijepljenja u brojnim zemljama.
Izvještaji o vrlo rijetkoj cerebralnoj venskoj sinusnoj trombozi (CVST) povezani su s primanjem cjepiva AstraZenece i Johnson & Johnsona.
Sjedinjene Države stoga su ovaj tjedan na kraće vrijeme obustavile uporabu cjepiva J&J dok se ne istraži veza s krvnim ugrušcima, dok je Danska prestala cijepiti AstraZenecom.
Britanski i europski regulatori istaknuli su da koristi cjepiva premašuju rizike.
Istraživanje provedeno na 500.000 covid pacijenata otkrilo je da se CVST pojavio kod 39 osoba na milijun zaraženih, naveli su znanstvenici.
Rezultate su usporedili s podacima Europske agencije za lijekove (EMA) prema kojima je pet osoba na milijun ljudi prijavilo CVST nakon primanja cjepiva AstraZenece.
Znanstvenici su naveli da je rizik od CVST-a osam do 10 puta veći nakon zaraze koronavirusom nego od postojećih cjepiva protiv covida-19.
"Čini se da je rizik od pojave (CVST) nakon covida-19 bitno i znatno veći nego što je bio nakon primanja cjepiva Oxforda-AstraZenece", rekao je novinarima Maxime Taquet s Oxforda.
Taquet je rekao da je stopa smrtnosti od CVST-a iznosila oko 20 posto bez obzira je li se dogodila nakon zaraze koronavirusom ili primanja cjepiva, što ukazuje da su ugrušci glavni faktor rizika.
Znanstvenici su istaknuli da je covid-19 više povezan s moždanim udarima nego s CVST-om i da je aktualna rasprava o cjepivima ispustila iz vida mogućnost pojave težeg oblika bolesti.
"Važnost ovog otkrića je što vraća na činjenicu da je ovo zaista užasna bolest, uz čitav niz pojava uključujući povećani rizik od CVST-a", rekao je John Geddes, direktor istraživačkog centra NIHR.
Istraživački tim s Oxforda naveo je da su radili neovisno od drugog tima s Oxforda koji je razvio cjepivo AstraZenece.

Veći je rizik od pojave krvnih ugrušaka u mozgu od zaraze koronavirusom nego od cjepiva protiv te bolesti, objavili su britanski znanstvenici u četvrtak nakon što su izvještaji o pojavi krvnih ugrušaka ugrozili kampanje cijepljenja u brojnim zemljama.
Izvještaji o vrlo rijetkoj cerebralnoj venskoj sinusnoj trombozi (CVST) povezani su s primanjem cjepiva AstraZenece i Johnson & Johnsona.
Sjedinjene Države stoga su ovaj tjedan na kraće vrijeme obustavile uporabu cjepiva J&J dok se ne istraži veza s krvnim ugrušcima, dok je Danska prestala cijepiti AstraZenecom.
Britanski i europski regulatori istaknuli su da koristi cjepiva premašuju rizike.
Istraživanje provedeno na 500.000 covid pacijenata otkrilo je da se CVST pojavio kod 39 osoba na milijun zaraženih, naveli su znanstvenici.
Rezultate su usporedili s podacima Europske agencije za lijekove (EMA) prema kojima je pet osoba na milijun ljudi prijavilo CVST nakon primanja cjepiva AstraZenece.
Znanstvenici su naveli da je rizik od CVST-a osam do 10 puta veći nakon zaraze koronavirusom nego od postojećih cjepiva protiv covida-19.
"Čini se da je rizik od pojave (CVST) nakon covida-19 bitno i znatno veći nego što je bio nakon primanja cjepiva Oxforda-AstraZenece", rekao je novinarima Maxime Taquet s Oxforda.
Taquet je rekao da je stopa smrtnosti od CVST-a iznosila oko 20 posto bez obzira je li se dogodila nakon zaraze koronavirusom ili primanja cjepiva, što ukazuje da su ugrušci glavni faktor rizika.
Znanstvenici su istaknuli da je covid-19 više povezan s moždanim udarima nego s CVST-om i da je aktualna rasprava o cjepivima ispustila iz vida mogućnost pojave težeg oblika bolesti.
