Egipatska uprava Sueskog kanala zahtijeva gotovo milijardu dolara odštete od kompanije vlasnice broda Ever Given, koji ga je nasukavanjem nedavno blokirao.

 Svota od 916 milijuna dolara će donekle namiriti račun koji je nastao zbog šest dana blokade, smatraju Egipćani, kad se s obje strane kanala u koloni nagomilalo više od četiri stotine brodova. Čak trećina ovog računa je, prema egipatskim izračunima, namijenjena troškovima krajnje kompliciranog odsukavanja zaglavljenog diva. Svotu bi trebale platiti japanska kompanija Shoei Kisen i njezina firma-kćer iz Paname Luster Maritime. Oko konačne bilance bi, po svemu sudeći, moglo biti još dosta natezanja, pošto agencija Reuters javlja da su vlasnici broda kao odštetu ponudili samo sto milijuna dolara.

 No, promućurni Egipćani su unaprijed na vezu zadržali golemi kontejnerski brod Ever Given kao hipoteku, zajedno s privremeno zaplijenjenom robom. Posada koju mahom čine Indijci je praktički zarobljena na palubi, i nitko ne smije na kopno: iznimka su samo dvije osobe koje su puštene zbog zdravstvenih tegoba. U hamburškoj brodskoj kompaniji BSM, koja se bavi upravljanjem brodskim prometom, odluku da se plovilo i posada zadrže nazivaju ekstremnom i pomalo razočaravajućom. Oni drže da incidentom nije nastala nikakva šteta po okoliš, a i firma kojoj pripada Ever Given uredno surađuje s istražiteljima. U dosadašnjoj istrazi navodno nije pronađen nikakav tehnički uzrok nasukavanja.

 Zasad se dominantno smatra kako je prejak vjetar poremetio kurs broda kad se nasukao u kanalu. Veličina ogromnog kontejnerskog plovila, kao i njihova visina po vertikali, djelovali su poput jedra koje je učinak vjetra umnogostručilo. Službena istraga, međutim, još nije okončana jer se Egipćani i Japanci i ne mogu sporazumjeti o realnom uzroku havarije. Egipćani su zapljenom broda izvršili snažan pritisak na kompaniju-vlasnicu, jer im time nabijaju troškove pravodobne dostave robe koja se nalazi u kontejnerima, a također im do daljnjega izvan operativne flote drže cijeli brod.

 Osiguravajuća tvrtka koja zastupa brodarsku kompaniju objavila je da pravdu zbog zaplijene broda traže pred sudom u gradu Ismailiji, najbližem lokaciji na kojoj je brod na prisilnom vezu. Prvo je ročište zakazano početkom svibnja, no mali su izgledi da će egipatski sud odlučiti protiv zahtjeva egipatske državne firme koja upravlja Sueskim kanalom.

Egipatska uprava Sueskog kanala zahtijeva gotovo milijardu dolara odštete od kompanije vlasnice broda Ever Given, koji ga je nasukavanjem nedavno blokirao.

 Svota od 916 milijuna dolara će donekle namiriti račun koji je nastao zbog šest dana blokade, smatraju Egipćani, kad se s obje strane kanala u koloni nagomilalo više od četiri stotine brodova. Čak trećina ovog računa je, prema egipatskim izračunima, namijenjena troškovima krajnje kompliciranog odsukavanja zaglavljenog diva. Svotu bi trebale platiti japanska kompanija Shoei Kisen i njezina firma-kćer iz Paname Luster Maritime. Oko konačne bilance bi, po svemu sudeći, moglo biti još dosta natezanja, pošto agencija Reuters javlja da su vlasnici broda kao odštetu ponudili samo sto milijuna dolara.

 No, promućurni Egipćani su unaprijed na vezu zadržali golemi kontejnerski brod Ever Given kao hipoteku, zajedno s privremeno zaplijenjenom robom. Posada koju mahom čine Indijci je praktički zarobljena na palubi, i nitko ne smije na kopno: iznimka su samo dvije osobe koje su puštene zbog zdravstvenih tegoba. U hamburškoj brodskoj kompaniji BSM, koja se bavi upravljanjem brodskim prometom, odluku da se plovilo i posada zadrže nazivaju ekstremnom i pomalo razočaravajućom. Oni drže da incidentom nije nastala nikakva šteta po okoliš, a i firma kojoj pripada Ever Given uredno surađuje s istražiteljima. U dosadašnjoj istrazi navodno nije pronađen nikakav tehnički uzrok nasukavanja.

 Zasad se dominantno smatra kako je prejak vjetar poremetio kurs broda kad se nasukao u kanalu. Veličina ogromnog kontejnerskog plovila, kao i njihova visina po vertikali, djelovali su poput jedra koje je učinak vjetra umnogostručilo. Službena istraga, međutim, još nije okončana jer se Egipćani i Japanci i ne mogu sporazumjeti o realnom uzroku havarije. Egipćani su zapljenom broda izvršili snažan pritisak na kompaniju-vlasnicu, jer im time nabijaju troškove pravodobne dostave robe koja se nalazi u kontejnerima, a također im do daljnjega izvan operativne flote drže cijeli brod.

 Osiguravajuća tvrtka koja zastupa brodarsku kompaniju objavila je da pravdu zbog zaplijene broda traže pred sudom u gradu Ismailiji, najbližem lokaciji na kojoj je brod na prisilnom vezu. Prvo je ročište zakazano početkom svibnja, no mali su izgledi da će egipatski sud odlučiti protiv zahtjeva egipatske državne firme koja upravlja Sueskim kanalom.

Egipatska uprava Sueskog kanala zahtijeva gotovo milijardu dolara odštete od kompanije vlasnice broda Ever Given, koji ga je nasukavanjem nedavno blokirao.

 Svota od 916 milijuna dolara će donekle namiriti račun koji je nastao zbog šest dana blokade, smatraju Egipćani, kad se s obje strane kanala u koloni nagomilalo više od četiri stotine brodova. Čak trećina ovog računa je, prema egipatskim izračunima, namijenjena troškovima krajnje kompliciranog odsukavanja zaglavljenog diva. Svotu bi trebale platiti japanska kompanija Shoei Kisen i njezina firma-kćer iz Paname Luster Maritime. Oko konačne bilance bi, po svemu sudeći, moglo biti još dosta natezanja, pošto agencija Reuters javlja da su vlasnici broda kao odštetu ponudili samo sto milijuna dolara.
