Američki predsjednik Joe Biden u subotu je pokolj počinjen u doba Osmanskog Carstva nad Armencima 2015. službeno nazvao genocidom i ta povijesna deklaracija mogla bi razbjesniti Tursku i potencijalno dodatno naštetiti nestabilnom odnosu dvaju saveznika NATO-a. 

Armenska dijaspora u Sjedinjenim Državama proslavit će simboličan potez američkog predsjednika u razdoblju u kojem se Ankara i Washington ne slažu u nizu političkih pitanja. 

"Američki narod poštuje sve one Armence koji su poginuli u genocidu prije 106 godina", rekao je Biden u izjavi.

"Armenijski imigranti su tijekom dugog niza godina obogatili Sjedinjene Države na nebrojene načine, ali nikada nisu zaboravili tragičnu povijest. (...) Poštujemo njihovu povijest. Vidimo tu bol. Potvrđujemo povijest. Ne činimo to  zato da bismo nekoga krivili, već da se takvo što nikada ne ponovi ", izjavio je. 

Zbog zabrinutosti za odnose s Turskom i intenzivnog lobiranja Ankare, američki Kongres i američki predsjednici desetljećima su se suzdržavali od priznavanja pokolja nad Armencima kao genocida te su pomno birali izraze za taj pokolj kako ne bi uvrijedili službenu Ankaru. 

Turska prihvaća da su mnogi Armenci koji su živjeli u Osmanskom carstvu ubijeni u sukobima s osmanskim snagama tijekom Prvog svjetskog rata, međutim, osporava brojke i poriče da su ubojstva sustavno organizirana i da je riječ o genocidu.

Erdogan osudio "politiziranje" u raspravi o genocidu nad Armencima

Sjedinjene Države trebale bi sagledati vlastitu prošlost i sadašnjost, odgovorila je Ankara Washingtonu koji je u u subotu turski pokolj nad Armencima iz 2015. službeno priznao za genocid što Turska naziva političkim oportunizmom i populizmom. 

Američki predsjednik Joe Biden izjavio je u subotu da američki narod poštuje sve one Armence koji su poginuli u genocidu prije 106 godina čime je odstupio od tradicije duge desetljećima u kojima je Washington pomno birao izraze za pokolj kako kako ne bi uvrijedio službenu Ankaru. 

"Snažno osuđujemo i odbacujemo izjave američkog predsjednika koje samo ponavljaju optužbe onih kojima je jedina agenda neprijateljstvo prema našoj zemlji", napisao je na Twitteru glasnogovornik turskog predsjedništva Ibrahim Kalin. 

"Savjetujemo američkog predsjedniku da sagleda prošlost i sadašnjost vlastite zemlje", dodaje Kalin, kako prenosi Reuters. 

Predsjednik Recep Tayyip Erdogan osudio je upletanje u unutarnja pitanja Turske, javlja agencija France presse. 

"Nikome ne koristi to što rasprave - kojima bi se trebali baviti povjesničari - politiziraju treće strane služeći se njima kao instrumentom za upletanje u u našu zemlju", izjavio je Erdogan u poruci upućenoj armenskom patrijarhu u Istanbulu. 

Tursko ministarstvo vanjskih poslova objavilo je da američka odluka ne počiva na pravnoj osnovi i "otvorit će duboku ranu" u bilateralnim odnosima.

"Ova izjava SAD-a koja iskrivljuje povijesne činjenice, nikada neće biti prihvaćena u savjesti turskog naroda i otvorit će duboku ranu koja će naštetiti međusobnom povjerenju i prijateljstvu, navodi ministarstvo.

Turski ministar vanjskih poslova Mevlut Cavusoglu reagirao je samo nekoliko minuta nakon objave Bijele kuće. 

“Riječi ne mogu promijeniti ili ponovno ispisati povijest. Ni od koga i ni o čemu nećemo učiti o vlastitoj prošlosti. Politički oportunizam je najveća izdaja mira i pravde", ustvrdio je Cavusoglu i poručio da "potpuno odbacuje izjavu koja se temelji samo na populizmu".

Američki predsjednik Joe Biden u subotu je pokolj počinjen u doba Osmanskog Carstva nad Armencima 2015. službeno nazvao genocidom i ta povijesna deklaracija mogla bi razbjesniti Tursku i potencijalno dodatno naštetiti nestabilnom odnosu dvaju saveznika NATO-a. 

Armenska dijaspora u Sjedinjenim Državama proslavit će simboličan potez američkog predsjednika u razdoblju u kojem se Ankara i Washington ne slažu u nizu političkih pitanja. 

"Američki narod poštuje sve one Armence koji su poginuli u genocidu prije 106 godina", rekao je Biden u izjavi.

"Armenijski imigranti su tijekom dugog niza godina obogatili Sjedinjene Države na nebrojene načine, ali nikada nisu zaboravili tragičnu povijest. (...) Poštujemo njihovu povijest. Vidimo tu bol. Potvrđujemo povijest. Ne činimo to  zato da bismo nekoga krivili, već da se takvo što nikada ne ponovi ", izjavio je. 

Zbog zabrinutosti za odnose s Turskom i intenzivnog lobiranja Ankare, američki Kongres i američki predsjednici desetljećima su se suzdržavali od priznavanja pokolja nad Armencima kao genocida te su pomno birali izraze za taj pokolj kako ne bi uvrijedili službenu Ankaru. 

Turska prihvaća da su mnogi Armenci koji su živjeli u Osmanskom carstvu ubijeni u sukobima s osmanskim snagama tijekom Prvog svjetskog rata, međutim, osporava brojke i poriče da su ubojstva sustavno organizirana i da je riječ o genocidu.

Erdogan osudio "politiziranje" u raspravi o genocidu nad Armencima

Sjedinjene Države trebale bi sagledati vlastitu prošlost i sadašnjost, odgovorila je Ankara Washingtonu koji je u u subotu turski pokolj nad Armencima iz 2015. službeno priznao za genocid što Turska naziva političkim oportunizmom i populizmom. 

Američki predsjednik Joe Biden izjavio je u subotu da američki narod poštuje sve one Armence koji su poginuli u genocidu prije 106 godina čime je odstupio od tradicije duge desetljećima u kojima je Washington pomno birao izraze za pokolj kako kako ne bi uvrijedio službenu Ankaru. 

"Snažno osuđujemo i odbacujemo izjave američkog predsjednika koje samo ponavljaju optužbe onih kojima je jedina agenda neprijateljstvo prema našoj zemlji", napisao je na Twitteru glasnogovornik turskog predsjedništva Ibrahim Kalin. 

"Savjetujemo američkog predsjedniku da sagleda prošlost i sadašnjost vlastite zemlje", dodaje Kalin, kako prenosi Reuters. 

Predsjednik Recep Tayyip Erdogan osudio je upletanje u unutarnja pitanja Turske, javlja agencija France presse. 

"Nikome ne koristi to što rasprave - kojima bi se trebali baviti povjesničari - politiziraju treće strane služeći se njima kao instrumentom za upletanje u u našu zemlju", izjavio je Erdogan u poruci upućenoj armenskom patrijarhu u Istanbulu. 

Tursko ministarstvo vanjskih poslova objavilo je da američka odluka ne počiva na pravnoj osnovi i "otvorit će duboku ranu" u bilateralnim odnosima.

"Ova izjava SAD-a koja iskrivljuje povijesne činjenice, nikada neće biti prihvaćena u savjesti turskog naroda i otvorit će duboku ranu koja će naštetiti međusobnom povjerenju i prijateljstvu, navodi ministarstvo.

Turski ministar vanjskih poslova Mevlut Cavusoglu reagirao je samo nekoliko minuta nakon objave Bijele kuće. 

“Riječi ne mogu promijeniti ili ponovno ispisati povijest. Ni od koga i ni o čemu nećemo učiti o vlastitoj prošlosti. Politički oportunizam je najveća izdaja mira i pravde", ustvrdio je Cavusoglu i poručio da "potpuno odbacuje izjavu koja se temelji samo na populizmu".

Američki predsjednik Joe Biden u subotu je pokolj počinjen u doba Osmanskog Carstva nad Armencima 2015. službeno nazvao genocidom i ta povijesna deklaracija mogla bi razbjesniti Tursku i potencijalno dodatno naštetiti nestabilnom odnosu dvaju saveznika NATO-a. 

Armenska dijaspora u Sjedinjenim Državama proslavit će simboličan potez američkog predsjednika u razdoblju u kojem se Ankara i Washington ne slažu u nizu političkih pitanja. 

"Američki narod poštuje sve one Armence koji su poginuli u genocidu prije 106 godina", rekao je Biden u izjavi.

"Armenijski imigranti su tijekom dugog niza godina obogatili Sjedinjene Države na nebrojene načine, ali nikada nisu zaboravili tragičnu povijest. (...) Poštujemo njihovu povijest. Vidimo tu bol. Potvrđujemo povijest. Ne...
