Barcelona je pretrpjela velike gubitke zbog izostanka turista tijekom pandemije. Lokalna politika ulaže mnogo napora da se brojke vrate na pretpandemijsku razinu, a kritičare masovnog turizma nitko ne sluša, piše portal DW.

U pretpandemijskim vremenima zbog gužve je bilo gotovo nemoguće fotografirati katedralu Sagrada Familia, možda najpoznatiju građevinu u Barceloni. Sada jedva da i koji turist stoji ispred ove građevine poznatog katalonskog arhitekta Antonija Gaudija. Čak je i karte za ulaz moguće kupiti isti dan, što inače nije slučaj, otkrio je prodavač karata.

14 milijuna turista u rekordnoj 2019.

Prije pandemije, samo ovu građevinu je godišnje posjećivalo preko pet milijuna turista. Broj posjetitelja Barcelone kontinuirano se povećavao u prošlom desetljeću, a rekordne 2019. je dosegao brojku od 14 milijuna turista. U istom razdoblju se broj putnika koji su prošli kroz zračnu luku gotovo udvostručio, s 30 na 53 milijuna godišnje.

S porastom broja posjetitelja raslo je i nezadovoljstvo lokalnog stanovništva. Sve češće je dolazilo do prosvjeda zbog nekontroliranog bujanja masovnog turizma.

Prosvjedovali nisu i oni koji žive od turizma, poput ugostitelja Josea Lorenza koji baš preko puta Sagrade Familie ima mali restoran.

U normalnim vremenima njegov bi objekt bio prepun gostiju. Sada samo jedan gost za šankom ispija pivo.

- Što ima loše u tome da mnogi ljudi dolaze. To znači da im se ovdje sviđa - rekao je ugostitelj za DW.

Povratak masovnom turizmu?

Nešto dalje, u poznatoj Gotičkoj četvrti slična slika - na ulici vrlo malo turista. Mnoge trgovine ovdje su tijekom pandemije bankrotirale.

- Situacija je nakon tolikih mjeseci mirovanja kritična - rekao je za DW Manel Casals, direktor Hotelskog saveza Barcelone.

Još uvijek je u potpunosti zatvoreno preko 40 posto hotela.

Ranije bi u ljetnim mjesecima preko 60.000 osoba prenoći u gradu, a ove godine ih je bilo 13.000. Hotelska branša je nagomilala 2,7 milijardi gubitaka tijekom pandemije. Casals je uvjeren: "Mi se moramo što je brže moguće vratiti starim brojkama."

Njegovo mišljenje dijele i u gradskoj vijećnici. Xavier Marcé, voditelj odjela za turizam pri gradskoj upravi, smatra da je rasprava oko previše turista pretjerana.

- Mi nemamo problem s brojem turista nego s njihovom raspodjelom. U Barceloni su sve znamenitosti zbijene na vrlo malom prostoru - rekao je Marcé. To dovodi do sukoba s lokalnim stanovništvom iz čijih četvrti nestaju tradicionalne trgovine za svakodnevne potrebe.

U nekim četvrtima gotovo više nema trgovina s namirnicama, nego isključivo trgovine namijenjene turistima poput suvenirnica.

- Ono što nam je potrebno je decentralizacija turizma - zaključio je gradski odbornik za turizam.

Zato je pokrenuto nekoliko projekata poput aplikacije pomoću koje turisti mogu vidjeti koliki su redovi ispred pojedinih atrakcija što bi trebalo pridonijeti smanjenju gužvi. Turistički autobusi sada ne prolaze samo kroz turističke četvrti nego i kroz relativno nepoznate predjele grada poput nekadašnje industrijske četvrti Poblenou koja je u međuvremenu postala okupljalište kreativne scene.

Slabi podrška aktivistima

Ovdje živi i Pere Mariné, jedan od najžešćih kritičara masovnog turizma i član Udruge stanara Barcelone, koja je organizirala brojne prosvjede protiv navale posjetitelja.

No, prosvjedi su tijekom pandemije prosvjedi posustali, ne samo zbog mjera, nego i zbog bolne spoznaje da turizam čini 13 posto prihoda ovog lučkoga grada.

- Svatko zna nekoga tko je bankrotirao ili ostao bez posla zbog pomanjkanja turista - rekao je Mariné. Najavljeni prosvjed u poznatom Parku Güell je morao biti otkazan zbog pomanjkanja zainteresiranih.

No aktivist ostaje pri svom uvjerenju kako treba smanjiti broj turista nakon pandemije. I ne vjeruje da je uopće moguća nekakva decentralizacija turizma. "Turisti žele vidjeti Sagradu Familiu ili stadion Camp Nou", kaže Mariné. On se zalaže za smanjenje kapaciteta u hotelima i da se neki hoteli pretvore u zgrade za stanovanje čime bi se trebao ublažiti problem s preskupim i nedostatnim brojem stanova u Barceloni.

No na smanjenje kapaciteta nitko ni ne pomišlja.

Grad je doduše pooštrio pravila o otvaranju novih smještajnih kapaciteta, ali smanjenje broja kreveta nije planirano. Dapače, u nekim rubnim četvrtima je planirano i otvaranje novih hotela i smještaja. 

Cilj je također podizanje kategorije smještaja, čime bi bilo moguće održati razinu zarade uz smanjenje broja turista.

Ni Manel Casals iz hotelske udruge ne želi ni čuti za zatvaranja hotela i smanjenje kapaciteta. I on smatra da se treba više usredotočiti na poslovni i kongresni turizam.

- Ovi gosti troše više novca i ne blokiraju ulice u starom gradu - smatra Casals.

Turisti iz cijelog svijeta će i dalje dolaziti kako bi vidjeli Sagradu Familiu, građevinu koja ni nakon gotovo 100 godina od smrti njezinog arhitekta još nije dovršena. S obzirom na to da se gradnja financira od prodaje karata, pandemija je i ovaj proces usporila. Prvobitno je bilo planirano da katedrala bude gotova do 2026., godišnjice Gaudijeve smrti, ali se u međuvremenu odustalo od ovog datuma, piše DW.

Barcelona je pretrpjela velike gubitke zbog izostanka turista tijekom pandemije. Lokalna politika ulaže mnogo napora da se brojke vrate na pretpandemijsku razinu, a kritičare masovnog turizma nitko ne sluša, piše portal DW.

U pretpandemijskim vremenima zbog gužve je bilo gotovo nemoguće fotografirati katedralu Sagrada Familia, možda najpoznatiju građevinu u Barceloni. Sada jedva da i koji turist stoji ispred ove građevine poznatog katalonskog arhitekta Antonija Gaudija. Čak je i karte za ulaz moguće kupiti isti dan, što inače nije slučaj, otkrio je prodavač karata.

14 milijuna turista u rekordnoj 2019.

Prije pandemije, samo ovu građevinu je godišnje posjećivalo preko pet milijuna turista. Broj posjetitelja Barcelone kontinuirano se povećavao u prošlom desetljeću, a rekordne 2019. je dosegao brojku od 14 milijuna turista. U istom razdoblju se broj putnika koji su prošli kroz zračnu luku gotovo udvostručio, s 30 na 53 milijuna godišnje.

S porastom broja posjetitelja raslo je i nezadovoljstvo lokalnog stanovništva. Sve češće je dolazilo do prosvjeda zbog nekontroliranog bujanja masovnog turizma.

Prosvjedovali nisu i oni koji žive od turizma, poput ugostitelja Josea Lorenza koji baš preko puta Sagrade Familie ima mali restoran.

U normalnim vremenima njegov bi objekt bio prepun gostiju. Sada samo jedan gost za šankom ispija pivo.

- Što ima loše u tome da mnogi ljudi dolaze. To znači da im se ovdje sviđa - rekao je ugostitelj za DW.

Povratak masovnom turizmu?

Nešto dalje, u poznatoj Gotičkoj četvrti slična slika - na ulici vrlo malo turista. Mnoge trgovine ovdje su tijekom pandemije bankrotirale.

- Situacija je nakon tolikih mjeseci mirovanja kritična - rekao je za DW Manel Casals, direktor Hotelskog saveza Barcelone.

Još uvijek je u potpunosti zatvoreno preko 40 posto hotela.

Ranije bi u ljetnim mjesecima preko 60.000 osoba prenoći u gradu, a ove godine ih je bilo 13.000. Hotelska branša je nagomilala 2,7 milijardi gubitaka tijekom pandemije. Casals je uvjeren: "Mi se moramo što je brže moguće vratiti starim brojkama."

Njegovo mišljenje dijele i u gradskoj vijećnici. Xavier Marcé, voditelj odjela za turizam pri gradskoj upravi, smatra da je rasprava oko previše turista pretjerana.

- Mi nemamo problem s brojem turista nego s njihovom raspodjelom. U Barceloni su sve znamenitosti zbijene na vrlo malom prostoru - rekao je Marcé. To dovodi do sukoba s lokalnim stanovništvom iz čijih četvrti nestaju tradicionalne trgovine za svakodnevne potrebe.

U nekim četvrtima gotovo više nema trgovina s namirnicama, nego isključivo trgovine namijenjene turistima poput suvenirnica.

- Ono što nam je potrebno je decentralizacija turizma - zaključio je gradski odbornik za turizam.

Zato je pokrenuto nekoliko projekata poput aplikacije pomoću koje turisti mogu vidjeti koliki su redovi ispred pojedinih atrakcija što bi trebalo pridonijeti smanjenju gužvi. Turistički autobusi sada ne prolaze samo kroz turističke četvrti nego i kroz relativno nepoznate predjele grada poput nekadašnje industrijske četvrti Poblenou koja je u međuvremenu postala okupljalište kreativne scene.

Slabi podrška aktivistima

Ovdje živi i Pere Mariné, jedan od najžešćih kritičara masovnog turizma i član Udruge stanara Barcelone, koja je organizirala brojne prosvjede protiv navale posjetitelja.

No, prosvjedi su tijekom pandemije prosvjedi posustali, ne samo zbog mjera, nego i zbog bolne spoznaje da turizam čini 13 posto prihoda ovog lučkoga grada.

- Svatko zna nekoga tko je bankrotirao ili ostao bez posla zbog pomanjkanja turista - rekao je Mariné. Najavljeni prosvjed u poznatom Parku Güell je morao biti otkazan zbog pomanjkanja zainteresiranih.

No aktivist ostaje pri svom uvjerenju kako treba smanjiti broj turista nakon pandemije. I ne vjeruje da je uopće moguća nekakva decentralizacija turizma. "Turisti žele vidjeti Sagradu Familiu ili stadion Camp Nou", kaže Mariné. On se zalaže za smanjenje kapaciteta u hotelima i da se neki hoteli pretvore u zgrade za stanovanje čime bi se trebao ublažiti problem s preskupim i nedostatnim brojem stanova u Barceloni.

No na smanjenje kapaciteta nitko ni ne pomišlja.

Grad je doduše pooštrio pravila o otvaranju novih smještajnih kapaciteta, ali smanjenje broja kreveta nije planirano. Dapače, u nekim rubnim četvrtima je planirano i otvaranje novih hotela i smještaja. 

Cilj je također podizanje kategorije smještaja, čime bi bilo moguće održati razinu zarade uz smanjenje broja turista.

Ni Manel Casals iz hotelske udruge ne želi ni čuti za zatvaranja hotela i smanjenje kapaciteta. I on smatra da se treba više usredotočiti na poslovni i kongresni turizam.

- Ovi gosti troše više novca i ne blokiraju ulice u starom gradu - smatra Casals.

Turisti iz cijelog svijeta će i dalje dolaziti kako bi vidjeli Sagradu Familiu, građevinu koja ni nakon gotovo 100 godina od smrti njezinog arhitekta još nije dovršena. S obzirom na to da se gradnja financira od prodaje karata, pandemija je i ovaj proces usporila. Prvobitno je bilo planirano da katedrala bude gotova do 2026., godišnjice Gaudijeve smrti, ali se u međuvremenu odustalo od ovog datuma, piše DW.
