Nije lako vjernicima. Ako si kršćanin, moraš biti kreacionist, vjerovati da je Bog stvoritelj svijeta i svega živog. S druge strane, škola i znanost (još uvijek) te podučavaju teoriji evolucije. Kako pomiriti ta dva nesukladna svjetonazora, ostati dosljedan vjernik, a ne okrenuti leđa civilizaciji i znanju, je li takvo što uopće moguće?

Mnogi će reći da jest, ali njihov pomirljivi ton ima klimavo uporište, jer od teorije evolucije uzimaju samo one dijelove koji ne tuku kontru katekizmu, a pritom ne vode računa o činjenici da znanost nije samoposluga iz koje se, po volji, mogu birati samo neke spoznaje koje ti, iz ovog ili onog razloga, pašu.

Zbunjenost dodatno osnažuju disonantni glasovi koji se mogu čuti i u vrhovima Crkve, a kamoli tek u vjerničkom parteru. "Nismo slučajan i besmislen proizvod evolucije", kazao je svojedobno Benedikt XVI. Njegov nasljednik Frane uzvratio je, pak, opaskom da Bog nije stvorio svijet magijom. Pa se ti, dobri vjerniče, misli što ćeš, kako ćeš, čak i kad ćeš, jer možeš biti pragmatičan koliko i ciničan, pa izabrati da si ujutro, na poslu, evolucionist, a popodne, doma i među prijateljima, kreacionist.

To, naravno, nije usamljeni paradoks s kojim se religiozni ljudi moraju hrvati. Što da, recimo, misle o egzorcizmu? Službena crkva na njega gleda kao na legitimnu praksu koja je ne samo potrebna, nego ponekad i neizbježna da bi se pomoglo ljudima koje su žrtve sotonina opsjednuća.

I ne samo to. Ako je opsjednuće krajnji oblik vražjeg djelovanja, a jest, onda na egzorcizam treba gledati kao na krajnji oblik djelovanja u Božje ime. Što će reći da ne možeš biti vjernik, a nijekati potrebu za tako važnom praksom u kritičnim situacijama.

Prema katoličkom nauku, egzorcizam može obavljati samo svećenik koji je dobio posebno odobrenje od mjesnog biskupa, a taj netko mora biti čovjek duboke vjere, odlikovati se pobožnošću, znanjem, razboritošću i neporočnošću života.

Priroda njegova znanja nije detaljnije opisana, barem ne u nekoliko općih, laičkih izvora koje sam kao teološki nevježa konzultirao, pa pretpostavljam da se radi o visokom bogoslovnom, a ne, recimo, medicinskom obrazovanju.

Tu, međutim, počinju problemi s istjerivanjem đavla. Prije nego što se pristupi konkretnom činu egzorcizma, potrebno je ustanoviti radi li se uistinu o opsjednuću ili o nekoj tegobi koja nema veze s djelovanjem sotone, dakle, o bolesti koju treba tretirati stručno zdravstveno osoblje i to ne u župnome dvoru ili stanu, nego u vrhunski opremljenoj specijalističkoj ustanovi.

Nevolja je u tome što se opsjednuće ne može dokazati, jer se radi o "dijagnozi" koja je prije i poslije svega pitanje vjere, dakle, stvar osobnog izbora, a ne neporeciva, znanstveno ovjerena činjenica. Kako je opsjednuće nedokazivo, odluku o provođenju egzorcizma moraju donijeti oboljeli i/ili njegovi bližnji. Da nesretnika nije napao sotona, nego neka sekularna zdravstvena tegoba, liječnici ga ne bi pitali želi li da mu pomognu, nego bi bez oklijevanja pristupili adekvatnom zbrinjavanju pacijenta.

Od opsjednutog se, pak, traži da bude sam svoj dijagnostičar koji će, osim toga, izabrati i terapiju. A njezino provođenje dospjet će u ruke osobe koja naizust zna sve alegorijske pričice iz Biblije i... ništa više, koja umjesto stetoskopa ima raspelo, a umjesto infuzije, dakle esencijalne tekućine bogate elektrolitima, vitaminima i antioksidansima, ima svetu vodicu.

Kad ispod svega podvučemo crtu i sjetimo se onoga što smo naučili u školi, a još uvijek nismo zaboravili, možemo izvesti samo jedan zaključak: da je egzorcizam tek jedan oblik nadriliječništva. Od drugih oblika razlikuje se po tome što nije dio opskurne, podzemne scene, nego se ne samo slobodno, nego i ponosno prakticira, a njegovi istaknuti praktičari čak i u dijelu svjetovnih medija redovito bivaju isticani kao iznimni, moralno i stručno besprijekorni ljudi.

Prije nekoliko dana preminuo je jedan egzorcist koji je, kako možemo čitati, uživao veliko poštovanje vjerničkoga puka. A znamo koliki je naš vjernički puk, da ga ima koliko i ljudi koji u Sjevernoj Koreji glasaju za Kim Jong-una, dakle, cirka 108 posto.

Bila je to lijepa prilika da se neka, bilo koja, liječnička udruga oglasi priopćenjem u kojemu će apelirati na građane da ubuduće ne nasjedaju šupljim pričama te da eventualne ozbiljne tegobe ne pokušavaju riješiti osloncem na šarlatane zaklonjene autoritetom vječne crkve, jer se time mogu izložiti ozbiljnim zdravstvenim rizicima. To se, međutim, nije dogodilo, a slutim da ni neće, barem u nekoj doglednoj budućnosti.

Nije lako vjernicima. Ako si kršćanin, moraš biti kreacionist, vjerovati da je Bog stvoritelj svijeta i svega živog. S druge strane, škola i znanost (još uvijek) te podučavaju teoriji evolucije. Kako pomiriti ta dva nesukladna svjetonazora, ostati dosljedan vjernik, a ne okrenuti leđa civilizaciji i znanju, je li takvo što uopće moguće?

Mnogi će reći da jest, ali njihov pomirljivi ton ima klimavo uporište, jer od teorije evolucije uzimaju samo one dijelove koji ne tuku kontru katekizmu, a pritom ne vode računa o činjenici da znanost nije samoposluga iz koje se, po volji, mogu birati samo neke spoznaje koje ti, iz ovog ili onog razloga, pašu.

Zbunjenost dodatno osnažuju disonantni glasovi koji se mogu čuti i u vrhovima Crkve, a kamoli tek u vjerničkom parteru. "Nismo slučajan i besmislen proizvod evolucije", kazao je svojedobno Benedikt XVI. Njegov nasljednik Frane uzvratio je, pak, opaskom da Bog nije stvorio svijet magijom. Pa se ti, dobri vjerniče, misli što ćeš, kako ćeš, čak i kad ćeš, jer možeš biti pragmatičan koliko i ciničan, pa izabrati da si ujutro, na poslu, evolucionist, a popodne, doma i među prijateljima, kreacionist.

To, naravno, nije usamljeni paradoks s kojim se religiozni ljudi moraju hrvati. Što da, recimo, misle o egzorcizmu? Službena crkva na njega gleda kao na legitimnu praksu koja je ne samo potrebna, nego ponekad i neizbježna da bi se pomoglo ljudima koje su žrtve sotonina opsjednuća.

I ne samo to. Ako je opsjednuće krajnji oblik vražjeg djelovanja, a jest, onda na egzorcizam treba gledati kao na krajnji oblik djelovanja u Božje ime. Što će reći da ne možeš biti vjernik, a nijekati potrebu za tako važnom praksom u kritičnim situacijama.

Prema katoličkom nauku, egzorcizam može obavljati samo svećenik koji je dobio posebno odobrenje od mjesnog biskupa, a taj netko mora biti čovjek duboke vjere, odlikovati se pobožnošću, znanjem, razboritošću i neporočnošću života.

Priroda njegova znanja nije detaljnije opisana, barem ne u nekoliko općih, laičkih izvora koje sam kao teološki nevježa konzultirao, pa pretpostavljam da se radi o visokom bogoslovnom, a ne, recimo, medicinskom obrazovanju.

Tu, međutim, počinju problemi s istjerivanjem đavla. Prije nego što se pristupi konkretnom činu egzorcizma, potrebno je ustanoviti radi li se uistinu o opsjednuću ili o nekoj tegobi koja nema veze s djelovanjem sotone, dakle, o bolesti koju treba tretirati stručno zdravstveno osoblje i to ne u župnome dvoru ili stanu, nego u vrhunski opremljenoj specijalističkoj ustanovi.

Nevolja je u tome što se opsjednuće ne može dokazati, jer se radi o "dijagnozi" koja je prije i poslije svega pitanje vjere, dakle, stvar osobnog izbora, a ne neporeciva, znanstveno ovjerena činjenica. Kako je opsjednuće nedokazivo, odluku o provođenju egzorcizma moraju donijeti oboljeli i/ili njegovi bližnji. Da nesretnika nije napao sotona, nego neka sekularna zdravstvena tegoba, liječnici ga ne bi pitali želi li da mu pomognu, nego bi bez oklijevanja pristupili adekvatnom zbrinjavanju pacijenta.

Od opsjednutog se, pak, traži da bude sam svoj dijagnostičar koji će, osim toga, izabrati i terapiju. A njezino provođenje dospjet će u ruke osobe koja naizust zna sve alegorijske pričice iz Biblije i... ništa više, koja umjesto stetoskopa ima raspelo, a umjesto infuzije, dakle esencijalne tekućine bogate elektrolitima, vitaminima i antioksidansima, ima svetu vodicu.

Kad ispod svega podvučemo crtu i sjetimo se onoga što smo naučili u školi, a još uvijek nismo zaboravili, možemo izvesti samo jedan zaključak: da je egzorcizam tek jedan oblik nadriliječništva. Od drugih oblika razlikuje se po tome što nije dio opskurne, podzemne scene, nego se ne samo slobodno, nego i ponosno prakticira, a njegovi istaknuti praktičari čak i u dijelu svjetovnih medija redovito bivaju isticani kao iznimni, moralno i stručno besprijekorni ljudi.

Prije nekoliko dana preminuo je jedan egzorcist koji je, kako možemo čitati, uživao veliko poštovanje vjerničkoga puka. A znamo koliki je naš vjernički puk, da ga ima koliko i ljudi koji u Sjevernoj Koreji glasaju za Kim Jong-una, dakle, cirka 108 posto.

Bila je to lijepa prilika da se neka, bilo koja, liječnička udruga oglasi priopćenjem u kojemu će apelirati na građane da ubuduće ne nasjedaju šupljim pričama te da eventualne ozbiljne tegobe ne pokušavaju riješiti osloncem na šarlatane zaklonjene autoritetom vječne crkve, jer se time mogu izložiti ozbiljnim zdravstvenim rizicima. To se, međutim, nije dogodilo, a slutim da ni neće, barem u nekoj doglednoj budućnosti.
