- O zaraznosti novog soja ne znamo ništa. Znamo da je novi soj znatno mutirao što upućuje na veći evolucijski skok. To nam govori da bi taj soj mogao imati različita svojstva ali ne znamo kakva će ta svojstva biti, rekao je za Dnevnik NoveTV Luka Čičin Šain, virusni imunolog, centar za infektološka istraživanja Helmholtz.

Imunolog Čičin Šain podsjeća da cjepiva smanjuju i rizik od zaraze i širenja virusa. Prije cjepiva imali smo i škotski i britanski soj i nebrojeno mutacija.

- Mimo tih sojeva imali smo jedan velik broj manje važnih varijanti koje su bile od nekog interesa, a za koje su praćenjem znanstvenici WHO utvrdili da sojevi ne postaju dominantniji, rekao je Čičin Šain.

Zbog tolikog broja mutacija virus svakako treba pratiti s oprezom, smatra i profesor Kristian Vlahoviček s PMF-a. Jer može nam donijeti veću zaraznost, lakše širenje, ali možda i dobre vijesti.

- Lako može značiti i to da je to jedna od mutacija koja će biti slijepo crijevo za virus, evolucijsko slijepo crijevo možda je sad žarište u Južnoj Africi, ali će zamrijeti jer se pokazuje da takav virus nije dovoljno kompetitivan s virusima koji kolaju u populaciji, rekao je Vlahovček.

Svjetska zdravstvena organizacija novi soj nazvala je prema grčkom slovu - omikron. Poručuju da preliminarni podaci pokazuju kako ovaj soj predstavlja veći rizik od ponovne zaraze. Europska unija predlaže zemaljama članicama potpunu zabranu letova prema jugu Afrike do daljnjega, dok bi putnici koji stižu iz tog područja morali u strogu karantenu. Takva ograničenja sve više uvode ostale zemlje.

- O zaraznosti novog soja ne znamo ništa. Znamo da je novi soj znatno mutirao što upućuje na veći evolucijski skok. To nam govori da bi taj soj mogao imati različita svojstva ali ne znamo kakva će ta svojstva biti, rekao je za Dnevnik NoveTV Luka Čičin Šain, virusni imunolog, centar za infektološka istraživanja Helmholtz.

Imunolog Čičin Šain podsjeća da cjepiva smanjuju i rizik od zaraze i širenja virusa. Prije cjepiva imali smo i škotski i britanski soj i nebrojeno mutacija.

- Mimo tih sojeva imali smo jedan velik broj manje važnih varijanti koje su bile od nekog interesa, a za koje su praćenjem znanstvenici WHO utvrdili da sojevi ne postaju dominantniji, rekao je Čičin Šain.

Zbog tolikog broja mutacija virus svakako treba pratiti s oprezom, smatra i profesor Kristian Vlahoviček s PMF-a. Jer može nam donijeti veću zaraznost, lakše širenje, ali možda i dobre vijesti.

- Lako može značiti i to da je to jedna od mutacija koja će biti slijepo crijevo za virus, evolucijsko slijepo crijevo možda je sad žarište u Južnoj Africi, ali će zamrijeti jer se pokazuje da takav virus nije dovoljno kompetitivan s virusima koji kolaju u populaciji, rekao je Vlahovček.

Svjetska zdravstvena organizacija novi soj nazvala je prema grčkom slovu - omikron. Poručuju da preliminarni podaci pokazuju kako ovaj soj predstavlja veći rizik od ponovne zaraze. Europska unija predlaže zemaljama članicama potpunu zabranu letova prema jugu Afrike do daljnjega, dok bi putnici koji stižu iz tog područja morali u strogu karantenu. Takva ograničenja sve više uvode ostale zemlje.

- O zaraznosti novog soja ne znamo ništa. Znamo da je novi soj znatno mutirao što upućuje na veći evolucijski skok. To nam govori da bi taj soj mogao imati različita svojstva ali ne znamo kakva će ta svojstva biti, rekao je za Dnevnik NoveTV Luka Čičin Šain, virusni imunolog, centar za infektološka istraživanja Helmholtz.

Imunolog Čičin Šain podsjeća da cjepiva smanjuju i rizik od zaraze i širenja virusa. Prije cjepiva imali smo i škotski i britanski soj i nebrojeno mutacija.

- Mimo tih sojeva imali smo jedan velik broj manje važnih varijanti koje su bile od nekog interesa, a za koje su praćenjem znanstvenici WHO utvrdili da sojevi ne postaju dominantniji, rekao je Čičin Šain.
