Aktualni rektor Sveučilišta u Zagrebu Damir Boras ponovno je izabran na tu dužnost te će najveće hrvatsko sveučilište na kojemu danas studira 75 tisuća studenata voditi u četverogodišnjemu mandatnom razdoblju od 1. listopada 2018. do 1. listopada 2022.

Senat zagrebačkoga Sveučilišta izabrao je rektora tajnim glasovanjem u prvom izbornom krugu.

Od 70 članova Senata Boras je, prema neslužbenim informacijama, dobio 54 glasa, a njegov protukandidat Damir Bakić dobio je 15 glasova dok je jedan listić bio nevažeći.

Tako je Sveučilište u Zagrebu, utemeljeno u drugoj polovini 17. stoljeća, i najstarije je sveučilište s neprekidnim djelovanjem u Hrvatskoj i među najstarijima u Europi, dobilo novoga rektora. Samo jednom u njegovoj dugoj povijesti na čelu toga sveučilišta bila je žena - prof. dr. Jasna Helena Mencer i to u razdoblju od 2002. do 2006.

Izvanredna sjednica Senata na kojoj je izabran novi rektor održana je iza zatvorenih vrata, usprkos apelu novinara iz 21 medijske redakcije koji su tražili da izborna sjednica bude otvorena za medije zbog velikoga zanimanja ne samo akademske, već i šire javnosti, za izbore koji su, po sudu mnogih, važni za hrvatsko društvo u cjelini.

Aktualni rektor Sveučilišta u Zagrebu Damir Boras ponovno je izabran na tu dužnost te će najveće hrvatsko sveučilište na kojemu danas studira 75 tisuća studenata voditi u četverogodišnjemu mandatnom razdoblju od 1. listopada 2018. do 1. listopada 2022.

Senat zagrebačkoga Sveučilišta izabrao je rektora tajnim glasovanjem u prvom izbornom krugu.

Od 70 članova Senata Boras je, prema neslužbenim informacijama, dobio 54 glasa, a njegov protukandidat Damir Bakić dobio je 15 glasova dok je jedan listić bio nevažeći.

Tako je Sveučilište u Zagrebu, utemeljeno u drugoj polovini 17. stoljeća, i najstarije je sveučilište s neprekidnim djelovanjem u Hrvatskoj i među najstarijima u Europi, dobilo novoga rektora. Samo jednom u njegovoj dugoj povijesti na čelu toga sveučilišta bila je žena - prof. dr. Jasna Helena Mencer i to u razdoblju od 2002. do 2006.

Izvanredna sjednica Senata na kojoj je izabran novi rektor održana je iza zatvorenih vrata, usprkos apelu novinara iz 21 medijske redakcije koji su tražili da izborna sjednica bude otvorena za medije zbog velikoga zanimanja ne samo akademske, već i šire javnosti, za izbore koji su, po sudu mnogih, važni za hrvatsko društvo u cjelini.
