Kapetan nogometne reprezentacije BiH Edin Džeko gostovao je u emisiji "(Ne)uspjeh prvaka" s Mariom Stanićem na kanalu Arena Sport. Džeko se u razgovoru dotakao svojih prvih nogometnih koraka, razdoblja provedenog u Želji, Češkoj, Njemačkoj, Engleskoj, Italiji, o reprezentaciji...
- Ljudi gledaju gotov produkt, odnosno ono što vide na televiziji. Poslije rata s nekih devet godina sam počeo trenirati. To je bilo u sali u školi, još uvijek su bile barikade na cestama. Tata me odveo u Želju, tad nam je bio trener Jusuf Šehović, koji više nije nažalost sa nama - kazao je Džeko.
Prisjetio se svojih početaka i rekao kako ga je Amar Osim sa 16-17 godina doveo u prvu momčad.
- Sjećam se, otac i ja smo bili u supermarktu. Zove me tadašnji trener iz kadeta i kaže spremi se sutra ideš na pripreme u Međugorje sa prvom momčadi. Bila su drugačija vremena, tada nije bilo lagano igrati u Želji. Na pripreme smo išli autima, neki od starijih igrača pokupe nas mlađe. Debitirao sam u Žepču, gubili smo. Ja sam se zagrijavao, zove me Amar i kaže zabij dva gola. Tad je za Želju bilo igrati jako teško, nogomet nije samo igra na terenu, glava pravi razliku - rekao je Džeko.
Odlaskom iz BiH, kaže, napravio je iskorak.
- Svi vidimo nogomet drugačije, bilo je nekih koji se nisu složili. Samim odlaskom iz BiH sam napravio iskorak, bio sam kod trenera koji je gledao da mi pomogne. Kada sam otišao tamo stavi me na „desetku“, kaže trebaš više trčati, pomažeš obrani. Tada sam postigao osam golova za polusezonu, te nakon toga odem u Teplice - rekao je Džeko.
Ipak, za Džeku život u Češkoj u početku nije bio tako bajan.
- Imao sam sreću da je tamo bio jedan momak iz Mostara - Samir Merzić, to mi je najviše pomoglo. Živjeli smo zajedno, igrali smo zajedno. Imao sam plaću 500 eura. Daleko od kuće bez roditelja, sam, plati stan. Nisam imao auto, događalo se da zadnjih sedam dana nemamo što jesti. Nazovem svoje i kažem nemam ništa za jesti, zamisli kako je njima. Tad nije bilo društvenih mreža, bile su obične poruke. Morao si kupiti kredit da bi imao za poslati poruku. Odemo na govornicu i tako smo pričali sa svojima - kazao je Džeko.
Dotakao se prvog nastupa u A reprezentacije BiH i potpisa u Wolsfburg.
- Za reprezentaciju sam debitirao protiv Turske kod izbornika Fuada Muzurovića i postigao gol. Poslije tri dana smo igrali protiv Malte, upišem asistenciju, ali sam se i ozlijedio. A nakon toga sam trebao u Zagreb na dogovor sa Wolsfburgom.
- Ja sam u Zagrebu potpisao za Wolsfburg. Za par tjedana odem na pripreme s novom momčadi. Nisam odmah igrao svaku utakmicu, a kada sam počeo igrati bio sam standardan. Imao sam trenera koji ima takav personality, jednostavno samo šutiš i radiš. Vjerujem da ne bismo osvojili ligu da nije bio trener Magath - dodao je Džeko.
Nakon sjajnih nastupa u Wolsfburgu uslijedio je transfer u Manchester City.
- Ja sam bio tri i po godine u Wolsfburgu. Bilo je tu puno nekih priča, ali htio sam vidjeti na kojoj sam razini, mogu li igrati s najboljim igračima na svijetu. Samo u Premier ligi sam mogao dobiti odgovor na to pitanje. Mancini je tada bio trener, osvojio sam 5,6 trofeja - kazao je.
Džeko je poslije četiri i po godine napustio Manchester i potpisao za Romu.
- Bio sam četiri i po godine u Cityju, potpisao sam novi ugovor, a godinu nakon toga sam otišao u Romu. Nisam imao najbolji odnos sa Pellegrinijem (tadašnji trener Cityja), a Italija mi je uvijek bila san. Najbolji igrači su igrali tamo, san mi je bio da naučim talijanski jezik. Kada sam stigao na aerodrom dočekalo me pet tisuća ljudi, nije bilo teško navići se. Tu je bio i Pjanić, bilo mi je lakše prilagoditi se - kazao je Džeko.
Danas Džeko igra u Interu u koji je stigao prije dvije godine.

Kapetan nogometne reprezentacije BiH Edin Džeko gostovao je u emisiji "(Ne)uspjeh prvaka" s Mariom Stanićem na kanalu Arena Sport. Džeko se u razgovoru dotakao svojih prvih nogometnih koraka, razdoblja provedenog u Želji, Češkoj, Njemačkoj, Engleskoj, Italiji, o reprezentaciji...
- Ljudi gledaju gotov produkt, odnosno ono što vide na televiziji. Poslije rata s nekih devet godina sam počeo trenirati. To je bilo u sali u školi, još uvijek su bile barikade na cestama. Tata me odveo u Želju, tad nam je bio trener Jusuf Šehović, koji više nije nažalost sa nama - kazao je Džeko.
Prisjetio se svojih početaka i rekao kako ga je Amar Osim sa 16-17 godina doveo u prvu momčad.
- Sjećam se, otac i ja smo bili u supermarktu. Zove me tadašnji trener iz kadeta i kaže spremi se sutra ideš na pripreme u Međugorje sa prvom momčadi. Bila su drugačija vremena, tada nije bilo lagano igrati u Želji. Na pripreme smo išli autima, neki od starijih igrača pokupe nas mlađe. Debitirao sam u Žepču, gubili smo. Ja sam se zagrijavao, zove me Amar i kaže zabij dva gola. Tad je za Želju bilo igrati jako teško, nogomet nije samo igra na terenu, glava pravi razliku - rekao je Džeko.
Odlaskom iz BiH, kaže, napravio je iskorak.
- Svi vidimo nogomet drugačije, bilo je nekih koji se nisu složili. Samim odlaskom iz BiH sam napravio iskorak, bio sam kod trenera koji je gledao da mi pomogne. Kada sam otišao tamo stavi me na „desetku“, kaže trebaš više trčati, pomažeš obrani. Tada sam postigao osam golova za polusezonu, te nakon toga odem u Teplice - rekao je Džeko.
Ipak, za Džeku život u Češkoj u početku nije bio tako bajan.
- Imao sam sreću da je tamo bio jedan momak iz Mostara - Samir Merzić, to mi je najviše pomoglo. Živjeli smo zajedno, igrali smo zajedno. Imao sam plaću 500 eura. Daleko od kuće bez roditelja, sam, plati stan. Nisam imao auto, događalo se da zadnjih sedam dana nemamo što jesti. Nazovem svoje i kažem nemam ništa za jesti, zamisli kako je njima. Tad nije bilo društvenih mreža, bile su obične poruke. Morao si kupiti kredit da bi imao za poslati poruku. Odemo na govornicu i tako smo pričali sa svojima - kazao je Džeko.
Dotakao se prvog nastupa u A reprezentacije BiH i potpisa u Wolsfburg.
- Za reprezentaciju sam debitirao protiv Turske kod izbornika Fuada Muzurovića i postigao gol. Poslije tri dana smo igrali protiv Malte, upišem asistenciju, ali sam se i ozlijedio. A nakon toga sam trebao u Zagreb na dogovor sa Wolsfburgom.
- Ja sam u Zagrebu potpisao za Wolsfburg. Za par tjedana odem na pripreme s novom momčadi. Nisam odmah igrao svaku utakmicu, a kada sam počeo igrati bio sam standardan. Imao sam trenera koji ima takav personality, jednostavno samo šutiš i radiš. Vjerujem da ne bismo osvojili ligu da nije bio trener Magath - dodao je Džeko.
Nakon sjajnih nastupa u Wolsfburgu uslijedio je transfer u Manchester City.
- Ja sam bio tri i po godine u Wolsfburgu. Bilo je tu puno nekih priča, ali htio sam vidjeti na kojoj sam razini, mogu li igrati s najboljim igračima na svijetu. Samo u Premier ligi sam mogao dobiti odgovor na to pitanje. Mancini je tada bio trener, osvojio sam 5,6 trofeja - kazao je.
Džeko je poslije četiri i po godine napustio Manchester i potpisao za Romu.
- Bio sam četiri i po godine u Cityju, potpisao sam novi ugovor, a godinu nakon toga sam otišao u Romu. Nisam imao najbolji odnos sa Pellegrinijem (tadašnji trener Cityja), a Italija mi je uvijek bila san. Najbolji igrači su igrali tamo, san mi je bio da naučim talijanski jezik. Kada sam stigao na aerodrom dočekalo me pet tisuća ljudi, nije bilo teško navići se. Tu je bio i Pjanić, bilo mi je lakše prilagoditi se - kazao je Džeko.
Danas Džeko igra u Interu u koji je stigao prije dvije godine.
