Super Bowl, najveći sportski događaj u SAD-u, ove je godine na rasporedu 11. veljače, a glavni sudac bit će iskusni 62-godišnjak hrvatskog porijekla Bill Vinovich.

Ovo će biti 58. izdanje Super Bowla, igrat će se na Allegiant Stadiumu u Las Vegasu, a ovo je već treća finalna utakmica NFL-a koja je povjerena Vinovichu (nakon 2015. i 2020.).

Amerikanac hrvatskog porijekla smatra se jednim od najboljih sudaca u NFL-u, a baš zbog toga je zanimljivo što se za njegovo posljednje dijeljenje pravde u Super Bowlu vuku repovi. Naime, on je 2020., u finalu u kojem su Kansas City Cfiefsi igrali protiv San Francisco 49ersa, pri rezutatu 20:10 za 49erse nakon pregleda snimke ostavio na snazi odluku koja je izazvala bijes kod navijača 49ersa.

Vinovich je, naime, priznao sporni touchdown Chiefsima, koji je pokrenuo njihov veliki preokret. Utakmica je na kraju završila 31:20 u korist momčadi iz Kansas Cityja, a ta pobjeda označila je početak dominacije Chiefsa koji su se od tada etablirali kao ponajbolja ekipa lige.

Da stvari budu zanimljivije, postoji realna mogućnost da se Chiefsi i 49ersi i ove godine sastanu u finalu. Chiefsi su autsajderi protiv Baltimore Ravensa, ali postoje vrlo realne šanse da svejedno prođu dalje, dok su 49ersi favoriti u finalu NFC konferencije protiv Detroit Lionsa.

Navijači ekipe iz San Francisca bijesni su nakon što su čuli da će ih Vinovich čekati u finalu ako do njega dođu, ali njegova odluka u 54. izdanju Super Bowla nije mu jedina "mrlja" u karijeri.

Naime, Vinovich je još poznatiji po nevjerojatnoj odluci da u finalu NFC konferencije 2019. godine ne dosudi najčišći mogući prekršaj za pass interference (nedozvoljeno ometanje napadača prije hvatanja lopte) igrača LA Ramsa nad igračem New Orleans Saintsa, čime je zakuhao utakmicu na samom kraju i omogućio Ramsima da izjednače rezultat te pobijede u produžecima.

Iako je prekršaj trebao dosuditi linijski sudac koji je bio najbliži situaciji, prekršaj je bio toliko blatanatan da do današnjeg dana svi krive Vinovicha kao glavnog suca što nije intervenirao. Taj propust bio je toliki da su klubovi sljedeće sezone odlučili testirati to da treneri imaju mogućnost izazvati odluku suca za pass interference, što dotad nisu mogli.

Ipak, to pravilo živjelo je samo jednu sezonu, jer su suci u ogromnoj većini slučajeva odbijali promijeniti svoje odluke čak i nakon što bi na snimci vidjeli da su pogriješili. Kao i u našem nogometu, izvlačili su se na slobodu procjene intenziteta prekršaja.

Za kraj dodajmo i to da Vinovich nije jedini Hrvat koji će imati prste u Super Bowlu. Naime, ove sezone je red za prijenos utakmice u SAD-u došao na CBS, a kreativni direktor sporta na jednoj od najvećih TV kuća u SAD-u je Pete Radovich, koji je za svoj rad nagrađen s čak 41 Emmyjem u 17 različitih kategorija.

Pete Radovich na Sunset Sports Media Festivalu u Zadru

Super Bowl, najveći sportski događaj u SAD-u, ove je godine na rasporedu 11. veljače, a glavni sudac bit će iskusni 62-godišnjak hrvatskog porijekla Bill Vinovich.

Ovo će biti 58. izdanje Super Bowla, igrat će se na Allegiant Stadiumu u Las Vegasu, a ovo je već treća finalna utakmica NFL-a koja je povjerena Vinovichu (nakon 2015. i 2020.).

Amerikanac hrvatskog porijekla smatra se jednim od najboljih sudaca u NFL-u, a baš zbog toga je zanimljivo što se za njegovo posljednje dijeljenje pravde u Super Bowlu vuku repovi. Naime, on je 2020., u finalu u kojem su Kansas City Cfiefsi igrali protiv San Francisco 49ersa, pri rezutatu 20:10 za 49erse nakon pregleda snimke ostavio na snazi odluku koja je izazvala bijes kod navijača 49ersa.

Vinovich je, naime, priznao sporni touchdown Chiefsima, koji je pokrenuo njihov veliki preokret. Utakmica je na kraju završila 31:20 u korist momčadi iz Kansas Cityja, a ta pobjeda označila je početak dominacije Chiefsa koji su se od tada etablirali kao ponajbolja ekipa lige.

Da stvari budu zanimljivije, postoji realna mogućnost da se Chiefsi i 49ersi i ove godine sastanu u finalu. Chiefsi su autsajderi protiv Baltimore Ravensa, ali postoje vrlo realne šanse da svejedno prođu dalje, dok su 49ersi favoriti u finalu NFC konferencije protiv Detroit Lionsa.

Navijači ekipe iz San Francisca bijesni su nakon što su čuli da će ih Vinovich čekati u finalu ako do njega dođu, ali njegova odluka u 54. izdanju Super Bowla nije mu jedina "mrlja" u karijeri.

Naime, Vinovich je još poznatiji po nevjerojatnoj odluci da u finalu NFC konferencije 2019. godine ne dosudi najčišći mogući prekršaj za pass interference (nedozvoljeno ometanje napadača prije hvatanja lopte) igrača LA Ramsa nad igračem New Orleans Saintsa, čime je zakuhao utakmicu na samom kraju i omogućio Ramsima da izjednače rezultat te pobijede u produžecima.

Iako je prekršaj trebao dosuditi linijski sudac koji je bio najbliži situaciji, prekršaj je bio toliko blatanatan da do današnjeg dana svi krive Vinovicha kao glavnog suca što nije intervenirao. Taj propust bio je toliki da su klubovi sljedeće sezone odlučili testirati to da treneri imaju mogućnost izazvati odluku suca za pass interference, što dotad nisu mogli.

Ipak, to pravilo živjelo je samo jednu sezonu, jer su suci u ogromnoj većini slučajeva odbijali promijeniti svoje odluke čak i nakon što bi na snimci vidjeli da su pogriješili. Kao i u našem nogometu, izvlačili su se na slobodu procjene intenziteta prekršaja.

Za kraj dodajmo i to da Vinovich nije jedini Hrvat koji će imati prste u Super Bowlu. Naime, ove sezone je red za prijenos utakmice u SAD-u došao na CBS, a kreativni direktor sporta na jednoj od najvećih TV kuća u SAD-u je Pete Radovich, koji je za svoj rad nagrađen s čak 41 Emmyjem u 17 različitih kategorija.
