Vlasnik jedine zlatne olimpijske medalje u povijesti Singapura, plivač Joseph Schooling (28) objavio je prekid karijere.

Schooling je 2016. u Rio de Janeiru šokirao plivački svijet osvojivši zlatnu medalju na 100 delfin ispred svog heroja iz djetinjstva legendarnog Amerikanca Michaela Phelpsa.

Schooling je slavio s rezultatom 50.39, dok su Phelps i Južnoafrikanac Chad le Clos podijelili srebro sa 51.14.

Za Phelpsa je to bila posljednja individualna olimpijska medalja u karijeri, a nakon nje je još osvojio zlato u utrci štafeta 4x100 mješovito. Slavni Amerikanac je na koncu osvojio rekordnih 28 olimpijskih medalja pri čemu i rekordna 23 zlata.

"Okrećem novo poglavlje, povlačim se iz natjecateljskog plivanja," objavio je 28-godišnja "singapurska leteća riba," kako mu je glasio nadimak.

"Ispunjen sam zahvalnošću za svako iskustvo koje je plivanje donijelo u moj život. Pobjede su bile uzbudljive, porazi ponizni, a zajedno su u meni iskovali otpornost koju ću prenijeti u svoje sljedeće poglavlje," dodao je.

Olimpijsko zlato je bio svakako najveći trenutak njegove karijere, a osvojio je i dvije bronce na svjetskim prvenstvima na 100 delfin u Kazanju (2015) i Budimpešti (2017). Osvojio je i tri zlatne medalje na azijskim prvenstvima.

"Iako se povlačim iz natjecanja, plivanje će zauvijek biti dio onoga što jesam. Dalo mi je platformu da inspiriram druge da love svoje snove, bez obzira na izgled," poručio je.

Singapur je u svojoj povijesti osvojio samo pet olimpijskih medalja - zlato, dva srebra i dvije bronce. Schooling je osvojio plivačko zlato, imaju srebro i dvije bronce u stolnom tenisu, te jedno srebro u dizanju utega.

Vlasnik jedine zlatne olimpijske medalje u povijesti Singapura, plivač Joseph Schooling (28) objavio je prekid karijere.

Schooling je 2016. u Rio de Janeiru šokirao plivački svijet osvojivši zlatnu medalju na 100 delfin ispred svog heroja iz djetinjstva legendarnog Amerikanca Michaela Phelpsa.

Schooling je slavio s rezultatom 50.39, dok su Phelps i Južnoafrikanac Chad le Clos podijelili srebro sa 51.14.

Za Phelpsa je to bila posljednja individualna olimpijska medalja u karijeri, a nakon nje je još osvojio zlato u utrci štafeta 4x100 mješovito. Slavni Amerikanac je na koncu osvojio rekordnih 28 olimpijskih medalja pri čemu i rekordna 23 zlata.

"Okrećem novo poglavlje, povlačim se iz natjecateljskog plivanja," objavio je 28-godišnja "singapurska leteća riba," kako mu je glasio nadimak.

"Ispunjen sam zahvalnošću za svako iskustvo koje je plivanje donijelo u moj život. Pobjede su bile uzbudljive, porazi ponizni, a zajedno su u meni iskovali otpornost koju ću prenijeti u svoje sljedeće poglavlje," dodao je.

Olimpijsko zlato je bio svakako najveći trenutak njegove karijere, a osvojio je i dvije bronce na svjetskim prvenstvima na 100 delfin u Kazanju (2015) i Budimpešti (2017). Osvojio je i tri zlatne medalje na azijskim prvenstvima.

"Iako se povlačim iz natjecanja, plivanje će zauvijek biti dio onoga što jesam. Dalo mi je platformu da inspiriram druge da love svoje snove, bez obzira na izgled," poručio je.

Singapur je u svojoj povijesti osvojio samo pet olimpijskih medalja - zlato, dva srebra i dvije bronce. Schooling je osvojio plivačko zlato, imaju srebro i dvije bronce u stolnom tenisu, te jedno srebro u dizanju utega.

Okreće novo poglavlje u životu: vlasnik jedinog singapurskog olimpijskog zlata završio karijeru

Vlasnik jedine zlatne olimpijske medalje u povijesti Singapura, plivač Joseph Schooling (28) objavio je prekid karijere.

Schooling je 2016. u Rio de Janeiru šokirao plivački svijet osvojivši zlatnu medalju na 100 delfin ispred svog heroja iz djetinjstva legendarnog Amerikanca Michaela Phelpsa.

Schooling je slavio s rezultatom 50.39, dok su Phelps i Južnoafrikanac Chad le Clos podijelili srebro sa 51.14.

Za Phelpsa je to bila posljednja individualna olimpijska medalja u karijeri, a nakon nje je još osvojio zlato u utrci štafeta 4x100 mješovito. Slavni Amerikanac je na koncu osvojio rekordnih 28 olimpijskih medalja pri čemu i rekordna 23 zlata.

"Okrećem novo poglavlje, povlačim se iz natjecateljskog plivanja," objavio je 28-godišnja "singapurska leteća riba," kako mu je glasio nadimak.

"Ispunjen sam zahvalnošću za svako iskustvo koje je plivanje donijelo u moj život. Pobjede su bile uzbudljive, porazi ponizni, a zajedno su u meni iskovali otpornost koju ću prenijeti u svoje sljedeće poglavlje," dodao je.

Olimpijsko zlato je bio svakako najveći trenutak njegove karijere, a osvojio je i dvije bronce na svjetskim prvenstvima na 100 delfin u Kazanju (2015) i Budimpešti (2017). Osvojio je i tri zlatne medalje na azijskim prvenstvima.

"Iako se povlačim iz natjecanja, plivanje će zauvijek biti dio onoga što jesam. Dalo mi je platformu da inspiriram druge da love svoje snove, bez obzira na izgled," poručio je.

Singapur je u svojoj povijesti osvojio samo pet olimpijskih medalja - zlato, dva srebra i dvije bronce. Schooling je osvojio plivačko zlato, imaju srebro i dvije bronce u stolnom tenisu, te jedno srebro u dizanju utega.
