Talentirani mladi splitski strateg Mile Karakaš, dosadašnji trener juniora „žutih”, naslijedio je Ivicu Skelina.

Široj sportskoj javnosti 39-godišnji Karakaš je najpoznatiji kao izbornik kadetske reprezentacije Hrvatske koja je 2018. godine osvojila zlato na U16 Europskom prvenstvu u Novom Sadu. U toj generaciji koju je predvodio Roko Prkačin bio je i aktualni prvotimac i još jedan veliki talent hrvatske košarke Ivan Perasović, kao i još jedan igrač iz rostera Splita Ante Perkušić.

Posljednjih sezona Karakaš je vodio juniore Splita i drugu momčad kluba AKK Universitas. Od ukidanja projekta druge momčad prošlog ljeta radio je s juniorskim sastavom. Već niz godina Karakaš je uspješno radio u omladinskom pogonu „žutih”.

Četiri dana od razlaza sa Skelinom, odnosno osam od poraza u finalu Kupa Krešimira Ćosića u Omišu, trajala je potraga za novim trenerom. Bili su ljudi iz vodstva kluba na čelu s predsjednikom NO-a Domagojem Maroevićem na pragu dogovora o angažmanu izbornika Brazila Aleksandra Petrovića, iskusnog stručnjaka i bivšega hrvatskog izbornika, ali je dobio „blokadu” od strane tamošnjeg Saveza.

Potom se nastavila potraga za novim trenerom pod kojim će se Split boriti za ostanak u ABA ligi, odnosno za naslov prvaka Hrvatske. Mnogo imena se spominjalo, iz Hrvatske, ali i regije, bivši strateg Budućnosti Petar Mijović, pa i trener Gorice Josip Sesar. Kuglica je pala na Karakaša. Odlučeno je da se prilika pruži perspektivnom domaćem treneru. Dobro je pritom kotirao još jedan talentirani trener iz kluba Srđan Subotić, dosadašnji Skelinov pomoćnik, ali je izabran Karakaš.

Što se pak tiče igračke karijere prošao je Karakaš omladinski pogon Splita. Potom je bio u Adriaticu, Solinu, Mislavu, Alkaru za kojeg je često govorio da je kao igrač tu proveo najljepše godine, Kaštelima, Trogiru. U Trogiru je počeo s trenerskim poslom, trenirao je djecu još dok je igrao drugu ligu. Nastavio je u Adriaticu. Momčad Sveučilišta u Splitu odveo je do naslova europskog prvaka. Veliku ulogu u njegovoj trenerskoj karijeri imao je Dino Rađa. On ga je „prepoznao”, doveo na Gripe. Bio je pomoćnik tadašnjem treneru Ivici Buriću.

Prvi trening Karakaš bi s momčadi trebao odraditi danas ujutro. Međutim, neće pritom niti pola momčadi imati na raspolaganju. Šestorica reprezentativaca su još na akcijama (četvorica s Hrvatskom Vranković, Marčinković, Marić, Perković, sa Srbijom Luković, Čampara sa BiH), dok su Mesiček i Đoković duže ozlijeđeni.

A odmah Karakaša čeka žestoki ritam, u četvrtak Split igra na Gripama protiv izravnog rivala u borbi za plasman uoči playoffa Gorice, a onda slijede dva ogleda protiv izravnog konkurenta u HT Premijer ligi, ali i ABA ligi za ostanak Cibone u Zagrebu. Karakašu slijedi vatreno krštenje.

Talentirani mladi splitski strateg Mile Karakaš, dosadašnji trener juniora „žutih”, naslijedio je Ivicu Skelina.

Široj sportskoj javnosti 39-godišnji Karakaš je najpoznatiji kao izbornik kadetske reprezentacije Hrvatske koja je 2018. godine osvojila zlato na U16 Europskom prvenstvu u Novom Sadu. U toj generaciji koju je predvodio Roko Prkačin bio je i aktualni prvotimac i još jedan veliki talent hrvatske košarke Ivan Perasović, kao i još jedan igrač iz rostera Splita Ante Perkušić.

Posljednjih sezona Karakaš je vodio juniore Splita i drugu momčad kluba AKK Universitas. Od ukidanja projekta druge momčad prošlog ljeta radio je s juniorskim sastavom. Već niz godina Karakaš je uspješno radio u omladinskom pogonu „žutih”.

Četiri dana od razlaza sa Skelinom, odnosno osam od poraza u finalu Kupa Krešimira Ćosića u Omišu, trajala je potraga za novim trenerom. Bili su ljudi iz vodstva kluba na čelu s predsjednikom NO-a Domagojem Maroevićem na pragu dogovora o angažmanu izbornika Brazila Aleksandra Petrovića, iskusnog stručnjaka i bivšega hrvatskog izbornika, ali je dobio „blokadu” od strane tamošnjeg Saveza.

Potom se nastavila potraga za novim trenerom pod kojim će se Split boriti za ostanak u ABA ligi, odnosno za naslov prvaka Hrvatske. Mnogo imena se spominjalo, iz Hrvatske, ali i regije, bivši strateg Budućnosti Petar Mijović, pa i trener Gorice Josip Sesar. Kuglica je pala na Karakaša. Odlučeno je da se prilika pruži perspektivnom domaćem treneru. Dobro je pritom kotirao još jedan talentirani trener iz kluba Srđan Subotić, dosadašnji Skelinov pomoćnik, ali je izabran Karakaš.

Što se pak tiče igračke karijere prošao je Karakaš omladinski pogon Splita. Potom je bio u Adriaticu, Solinu, Mislavu, Alkaru za kojeg je često govorio da je kao igrač tu proveo najljepše godine, Kaštelima, Trogiru. U Trogiru je počeo s trenerskim poslom, trenirao je djecu još dok je igrao drugu ligu. Nastavio je u Adriaticu. Momčad Sveučilišta u Splitu odveo je do naslova europskog prvaka. Veliku ulogu u njegovoj trenerskoj karijeri imao je Dino Rađa. On ga je „prepoznao”, doveo na Gripe. Bio je pomoćnik tadašnjem treneru Ivici Buriću.

Prvi trening Karakaš bi s momčadi trebao odraditi danas ujutro. Međutim, neće pritom niti pola momčadi imati na raspolaganju. Šestorica reprezentativaca su još na akcijama (četvorica s Hrvatskom Vranković, Marčinković, Marić, Perković, sa Srbijom Luković, Čampara sa BiH), dok su Mesiček i Đoković duže ozlijeđeni.

A odmah Karakaša čeka žestoki ritam, u četvrtak Split igra na Gripama protiv izravnog rivala u borbi za plasman uoči playoffa Gorice, a onda slijede dva ogleda protiv izravnog konkurenta u HT Premijer ligi, ali i ABA ligi za ostanak Cibone u Zagrebu. Karakašu slijedi vatreno krštenje.

Talentirani mladi splitski strateg Mile Karakaš, dosadašnji trener juniora „žutih”, naslijedio je Ivicu Skelina.

Široj sportskoj javnosti 39-godišnji Karakaš je najpoznatiji kao izbornik kadetske reprezentacije Hrvatske koja je 2018. godine osvojila zlato na U16 Europskom prvenstvu u Novom Sadu. U toj generaciji koju je predvodio Roko Prkačin bio je i aktualni prvotimac i još jedan veliki talent hrvatske košarke Ivan Perasović, kao i još jedan igrač iz rostera Splita Ante Perkušić.

Posljednjih sezona Karakaš je vodio juniore Splita i drugu momčad kluba AKK Universitas. Od ukidanja projekta druge momčad prošlog ljeta radio je s juniorskim sastavom. Već niz godina Karakaš je uspješno radio u omladinskom pogonu „žutih”.
