SDP-ov kandidat za gradonačelnika Davor Matijević, povodom Praznika rada, obratio se javnosti na ulazu u splitski škver. Uz njega je bio i Ante Bilić, gradonačelnik Trogira. Kako je rekao, izabrao je baš ovu lokaciju jer je splitski škver jedan od rijetkih preostalih simbola radničkoga Splita, grada koji je nekada imao visoko razvijenu industriju.

- Prvi maj nije pjat fažola, ni izlet u prirodu. Ljudi su se krvavo borili za ono što je nama danas sasvim normalno, a to je osam radnih sati i pravo na dostojanstven rad. Zapravo bi trebalo biti normalno, ali i dalje imamo primjera gdje je to nedosanjani san, poput radnika u turizmu koji i dalje rade smjene od 12 sati bez slobodnog dana. Ja sam radio u turizmu tijekom sezone po 10 sati dnevno bez slobodnoga dana, a nakon što odradiš sezonu, treba ti mjesec dana da se prilagodiš normalnom životu – rekao je Matijević.

Oštru kritiku dao je i prestanku proizvodnje u škveru, a osvrnuo se i na ljude koji zbog toga već dugi niz godina nisu plaćeni za svoj rad.

- U 90 godina dugoj povijesti splitskog škvera nikad se nije dogodilo da je proizvodnja prestala kao što se to dogodilo sada. Sablasnu tišinu škverskih strojeva zaglušuje još sablasnija tišina splitskih političara koji ignoriraju činjenicu da ovdje gotovo 2.000 radnika nije primilo cjelovito plaću od siječnja. Mahom su to naši sugrađani, ali o njima malo tko vodi računa – odlučno će splitski SDP-ovac.

Kao ostale simbole rada u našem gradu naveo je i radnike u prosvjeti i medicinske sestre kojih u KBC-u nedostaje čak 500 i koji su potplaćene, stoga, kako kaže, ne treba se čuditi što odlaze. Osvrnuo se, potom, i na problem rješavanja stambenog pitanja, kojega brojni Splićani s trenutnom cijenom metra kvadratnoga na tržištu, ne mogu realizirati.

- Radnik u današnjem Splitu ne može riješiti stambeno pitanje. Koliko znate ljudi koji od svoje plaće mogu platitit 3000 do 4000 eura za četvorni metar? Splitu trebaju stanovi za najam, ali ne deset ili sto već najmanje tisuću stanova za dugoročni najam i dužni smo ponuditi stambenu politiku po uzoru na brojene europske gradove koji su na taj način odgovorili na negativne efekte turizma. Turizma koji svi podržavamo, ali čijim se posljedicama ne bavimo – kazao je.

Naposljetku je zaključio kako je posao politike da daje odgovore na ovakve probleme, a spomenuo je i kako je Bilić, gradonačelnik Trogira, na konkretnom primjeru pokazao kako lokalna politika može i mora brinuti o svojim sugrađanima.

SDP-ov kandidat za gradonačelnika Davor Matijević, povodom Praznika rada, obratio se javnosti na ulazu u splitski škver. Uz njega je bio i Ante Bilić, gradonačelnik Trogira. Kako je rekao, izabrao je baš ovu lokaciju jer je splitski škver jedan od rijetkih preostalih simbola radničkoga Splita, grada koji je nekada imao visoko razvijenu industriju.

- Prvi maj nije pjat fažola, ni izlet u prirodu. Ljudi su se krvavo borili za ono što je nama danas sasvim normalno, a to je osam radnih sati i pravo na dostojanstven rad. Zapravo bi trebalo biti normalno, ali i dalje imamo primjera gdje je to nedosanjani san, poput radnika u turizmu koji i dalje rade smjene od 12 sati bez slobodnog dana. Ja sam radio u turizmu tijekom sezone po 10 sati dnevno bez slobodnoga dana, a nakon što odradiš sezonu, treba ti mjesec dana da se prilagodiš normalnom životu – rekao je Matijević.

Oštru kritiku dao je i prestanku proizvodnje u škveru, a osvrnuo se i na ljude koji zbog toga već dugi niz godina nisu plaćeni za svoj rad.

- U 90 godina dugoj povijesti splitskog škvera nikad se nije dogodilo da je proizvodnja prestala kao što se to dogodilo sada. Sablasnu tišinu škverskih strojeva zaglušuje još sablasnija tišina splitskih političara koji ignoriraju činjenicu da ovdje gotovo 2.000 radnika nije primilo cjelovito plaću od siječnja. Mahom su to naši sugrađani, ali o njima malo tko vodi računa – odlučno će splitski SDP-ovac.

Kao ostale simbole rada u našem gradu naveo je i radnike u prosvjeti i medicinske sestre kojih u KBC-u nedostaje čak 500 i koji su potplaćene, stoga, kako kaže, ne treba se čuditi što odlaze. Osvrnuo se, potom, i na problem rješavanja stambenog pitanja, kojega brojni Splićani s trenutnom cijenom metra kvadratnoga na tržištu, ne mogu realizirati.

- Radnik u današnjem Splitu ne može riješiti stambeno pitanje. Koliko znate ljudi koji od svoje plaće mogu platitit 3000 do 4000 eura za četvorni metar? Splitu trebaju stanovi za najam, ali ne deset ili sto već najmanje tisuću stanova za dugoročni najam i dužni smo ponuditi stambenu politiku po uzoru na brojene europske gradove koji su na taj način odgovorili na negativne efekte turizma. Turizma koji svi podržavamo, ali čijim se posljedicama ne bavimo – kazao je.

Naposljetku je zaključio kako je posao politike da daje odgovore na ovakve probleme, a spomenuo je i kako je Bilić, gradonačelnik Trogira, na konkretnom primjeru pokazao kako lokalna politika može i mora brinuti o svojim sugrađanima.

SDP-ov kandidat za gradonačelnika Davor Matijević, povodom Praznika rada, obratio se javnosti na ulazu u splitski škver. Uz njega je bio i Ante Bilić, gradonačelnik Trogira. Kako je rekao, izabrao je baš ovu lokaciju jer je splitski škver jedan od rijetkih preostalih simbola radničkoga Splita, grada koji je nekada imao visoko razvijenu industriju.

- Prvi maj nije pjat fažola, ni izlet u prirodu. Ljudi su se krvavo borili za ono što je nama danas sasvim normalno, a to je osam radnih sati i pravo na dostojanstven rad.
