Da ste zbog naporna šefa ili tvrdoglava suradnika posijedjeli, sigurno ste se već nekome požalili i tako ilustrirali količinu stresa koji vam neke “teške” osobe uzrokuju.

Znanstvenici se nisu bavili analizom takvih metafora, nego su tražili precizno objašnjenje veze između učestalog stresa i rane pojave sijedih vlasi. Već je dulje vremena poznato da vjerojatno postoji veza između stresnog života i sijede kose. Međutim, recentna studija objavljena u časopisu Nature, rezultat istraživanja provedenog na Harvardu, donosi novo razumijevanje mehanizma ove veze.

U početku su se znanstvenici fokusirali prije svega na ulogu kortizola - hormona koji se često naziva hormon stresa. Kada se u našem tijelu pokrene reakcija “borbe ili bijega”, što je tipično za vrlo stresne situacije, kortizol se oslobađa u većim količinama.

Dugotrajno povišena razina kortizola može dovesti do mnogih zdravstvenih problema, ali istraživači su otkrili da se, proučavajući uzroke rane pojave sijede kose, ima više smisla usredotočiti na simpatički živčani sustav, koji je jedna od komponenti autonomnog živčanog sustava. Simpatički živčani sustav protkan je cijelim našim tijelom, a proteže se i do folikula dlake.

Oslobađanje noradrenalina

Tijekom reakcije na stres u tijelu se oslobađaju razne tvari, pri čemu i noradrenalin neophodan za sijedu kosu. To može dovesti do toga da se stanice odgovorne za stvaranje pigmenta prebrzo aktiviraju. Kao rezultat toga, “opskrba” pigmentom kose vrlo brzo se troši. Takva oštećenja su trajna i za sada nije moguće oživiti ili aktivirati ove stanice.

Iako stres igra važnu ulogu u tome kako brzo će netko posijedjeti, on nije i jedini čimbenik koji utječe na brzinu tog procesa. Kod većine onih koji posijede vrlo rano smatra se da je osnovni uzrok povezan s genetikom. To je nešto što već uvelike određuju geni, na što ne možemo izravno utjecati. Međutim, stručnjaci smatraju da ne bismo trebali zanemariti utjecaj faktora nad kojima možemo imati kontrolu.

Osim stresa, pušenje je jedan od čimbenika koji povećava šanse da vaša kosa počne sijedjeti vrlo rano. Dijeta također ima vrlo važan učinak. Tvari čiji je nedostatak povezan s povećanom vjerojatnošću ranog sijeđenja kose uključuju, na primjer, proteine, vitamin B12, bakar i željezo.

Brzo sijeđenje kose također može biti povezano s oksidacijskim stresom koji je posljedica prekomjerna nakupljanja slobodnih radikala. Kako biste spriječili oksidacijski stres, smanjujući na taj način ne samo vjerojatnost nastanka rane sijede kose, nego i mnoge kronične bolesti, preporučuje se da vaša prehrana sadrži što više antioksidansa.

Mijenjajte svakodnevne navike

Ponekad rano sijeđenje kose može biti i simptom određenih zdravstvenih problema, pa svakako ima smisla potražiti liječnika koji će isključiti ozbiljnije bolesti. Sijeda kosa, naravno, sama po sebi nije bolest ili nešto čega bi se trebalo sramiti. Uostalom, kosa postupno postaje siva kod većine ljudi. Svako desetljeće nakon 30. godine očekuje se porast vjerojatnosti pojave sijede kose za oko 10 posto. Ali ako sumnjate da bi stres mogao biti glavni krivac što ste rano posijedjeli, to definitivno ima smisla shvatiti kao signal upozorenja da biste trebali početi s promjenama svojih svakodnevnih navika.

Da ste zbog naporna šefa ili tvrdoglava suradnika posijedjeli, sigurno ste se već nekome požalili i tako ilustrirali količinu stresa koji vam neke “teške” osobe uzrokuju.

Znanstvenici se nisu bavili analizom takvih metafora, nego su tražili precizno objašnjenje veze između učestalog stresa i rane pojave sijedih vlasi. Već je dulje vremena poznato da vjerojatno postoji veza između stresnog života i sijede kose. Međutim, recentna studija objavljena u časopisu Nature, rezultat istraživanja provedenog na Harvardu, donosi novo razumijevanje mehanizma ove veze.

U početku su se znanstvenici fokusirali prije svega na ulogu kortizola - hormona koji se često naziva hormon stresa. Kada se u našem tijelu pokrene reakcija “borbe ili bijega”, što je tipično za vrlo stresne situacije, kortizol se oslobađa u većim količinama.

Dugotrajno povišena razina kortizola može dovesti do mnogih zdravstvenih problema, ali istraživači su otkrili da se, proučavajući uzroke rane pojave sijede kose, ima više smisla usredotočiti na simpatički živčani sustav, koji je jedna od komponenti autonomnog živčanog sustava. Simpatički živčani sustav protkan je cijelim našim tijelom, a proteže se i do folikula dlake.

Oslobađanje noradrenalina

Tijekom reakcije na stres u tijelu se oslobađaju razne tvari, pri čemu i noradrenalin neophodan za sijedu kosu. To može dovesti do toga da se stanice odgovorne za stvaranje pigmenta prebrzo aktiviraju. Kao rezultat toga, “opskrba” pigmentom kose vrlo brzo se troši. Takva oštećenja su trajna i za sada nije moguće oživiti ili aktivirati ove stanice.

Iako stres igra važnu ulogu u tome kako brzo će netko posijedjeti, on nije i jedini čimbenik koji utječe na brzinu tog procesa. Kod većine onih koji posijede vrlo rano smatra se da je osnovni uzrok povezan s genetikom. To je nešto što već uvelike određuju geni, na što ne možemo izravno utjecati. Međutim, stručnjaci smatraju da ne bismo trebali zanemariti utjecaj faktora nad kojima možemo imati kontrolu.

Osim stresa, pušenje je jedan od čimbenika koji povećava šanse da vaša kosa počne sijedjeti vrlo rano. Dijeta također ima vrlo važan učinak. Tvari čiji je nedostatak povezan s povećanom vjerojatnošću ranog sijeđenja kose uključuju, na primjer, proteine, vitamin B12, bakar i željezo.

Brzo sijeđenje kose također može biti povezano s oksidacijskim stresom koji je posljedica prekomjerna nakupljanja slobodnih radikala. Kako biste spriječili oksidacijski stres, smanjujući na taj način ne samo vjerojatnost nastanka rane sijede kose, nego i mnoge kronične bolesti, preporučuje se da vaša prehrana sadrži što više antioksidansa.

Mijenjajte svakodnevne navike

Ponekad rano sijeđenje kose može biti i simptom određenih zdravstvenih problema, pa svakako ima smisla potražiti liječnika koji će isključiti ozbiljnije bolesti. Sijeda kosa, naravno, sama po sebi nije bolest ili nešto čega bi se trebalo sramiti. Uostalom, kosa postupno postaje siva kod većine ljudi. Svako desetljeće nakon 30. godine očekuje se porast vjerojatnosti pojave sijede kose za oko 10 posto. Ali ako sumnjate da bi stres mogao biti glavni krivac što ste rano posijedjeli, to definitivno ima smisla shvatiti kao signal upozorenja da biste trebali početi s promjenama svojih svakodnevnih navika.

Da ste zbog naporna šefa ili tvrdoglava suradnika posijedjeli, sigurno ste se već nekome požalili i tako ilustrirali količinu stresa koji vam neke “teške” osobe uzrokuju.

Znanstvenici se nisu bavili analizom takvih metafora, nego su tražili precizno objašnjenje veze između učestalog stresa i rane pojave sijedih vlasi. Već je dulje vremena poznato da vjerojatno postoji veza između stresnog života i sijede kose. Međutim, recentna studija objavljena u časopisu Nature, rezultat istraživanja provedenog na Harvardu, donosi novo razumijevanje mehanizma ove veze.
