stdClass Object ( [id] => 172501 [title] => SAD: odobren prvi kućni test na HIV [alias] => sad-odobren-prvi-kucni-test-na-hiv [catid] => 264 [published] => 1 [introtext] => [fulltext] => Nakon desetljeća kontroverzija, američka Agencija za hranu i lijekove (FDA) odobrila je prvi kućni HIV test, koji će Amerikancima omogućiti da u privatnosti svojih domova doznaju jesu li zaraženi opasnim virusom. Test, koji je jednostavan za uporabu poput kućnog testa za trudnoću, još je jedan korak prema destigmatizaciji bolesti koja se dugo označavala kao sramota i kao smrtna presuda.

Test naziva OraQuick, koji proizvodi tvrtka OraSure Techologies, kako prenosi The New York Times, koristi uzorak sline s desni, a rezultati se očitavaju za 20 do 40 minuta. To je ujedno i prvi test koji za detekciju virusa koristi slinu, s obzirom da su dosadašnji testovi analize radili iz uzroka krvi.

OraSure je odobrenje FDA čekao još od 2005. godine. Dr. Anthony S. Fauci, dugodišnji AIDS istraživač i direktor Nacionalnog instituta za alergije i zarazne bolesti u SAD-u, ovaj je test nazvao pozitivnim iskorakom, koji može pridonijeti da se 30-godišnja epidemija HIV-a stavi pod kontrolu.

I dr. Robert Galo, koji je bio na čelu laboratorija u Nacionalnom institutu za zdravlje koji je razvio prvi krvni tekst za HIV 1984. godine ovo je odobrenje od strane FDA nazvao “prekrasnim jer će više ljudi biti obuhvaćeno zdravstvenom skrbi”.

Poznato je, naime, da HIV pozitivna osoba uzimanjem antivirusne terapije čak za 96 posto smanjuje mogućnost da zarazi nekog drugog, zbog čega su testiranje i liječenje ključni za prevenciju. Američki Centar za kontrolu i prevenciju bolesti (CDC) smatra kako čak 20 posto od 1,2 zaraženih stanovnika SAD-a ne zna da je HIV pozitivno, a oko 50 tisuća novih osoba zarazi se svake godine.

Iz FDA poručuju kako ovaj test neće zamijeniti liječničko testiranje, ali će osigurati jednostavan i brz način da ljudi saznaju svoj HIV status. Naglašavaju također kako svaki pozitivan test zahtjeva potvrdu kod liječnika.

Prvi kućni testovi u američkim ljekarnama bit će dostupni u listopadu, cijena još nije poznata, no pretpostavlja se da će biti viša od 17.50 dolara. Poznato je također kako bi otprilike jedna osoba na 5000 testiranih dobiti lažno pozitivan test, a jedna na njih 12 bi mogla dobiti lažno negativan nalaz.

desetljeća kontroverzija, američka Agencija za hranu i lijekove (FDA) odobrila je prvi kućni HIV test, koji će Amerikancima omogućiti da u privatnosti svojih domova doznaju jesu li zaraženi opasnim virusom. Test, koji je jednostavan za uporabu poput kućnog testa za trudnoću, još je jedan korak prema destigmatizaciji bolesti koja se dugo označavala kao sramota i kao smrtna presuda.

Test naziva OraQuick, koji proizvodi tvrtka OraSure Techologies, kako prenosi The New York Times, koristi uzorak sline s desni, a rezultati se očitavaju za 20 do 40 minuta. To je ujedno i prvi test koji za detekciju virusa koristi slinu, s obzirom da su dosadašnji testovi analize radili iz uzroka krvi.

OraSure je odobrenje FDA čekao još od 2005. godine. Dr. Anthony S. Fauci, dugodišnji AIDS istraživač i direktor Nacionalnog instituta za alergije i zarazne bolesti u SAD-u, ovaj je test nazvao pozitivnim iskorakom, koji može pridonijeti da se 30-godišnja epidemija HIV-a stavi pod kontrolu.

I dr. Robert Galo, koji je bio na čelu laboratorija u Nacionalnom institutu za zdravlje koji je razvio prvi krvni tekst za HIV 1984. godine ovo je odobrenje od strane FDA nazvao “prekrasnim jer će više ljudi biti obuhvaćeno zdravstvenom skrbi”.

Poznato je, naime, da HIV pozitivna osoba uzimanjem antivirusne terapije čak za 96 posto smanjuje mogućnost da zarazi nekog drugog, zbog čega su testiranje i liječenje ključni za prevenciju. Američki Centar za kontrolu i prevenciju bolesti (CDC) smatra kako čak 20 posto od 1,2 zaraženih stanovnika SAD-a ne zna da je HIV pozitivno, a oko 50 tisuća novih osoba zarazi se svake godine.

Iz FDA poručuju kako ovaj test neće zamijeniti liječničko testiranje, ali će osigurati jednostavan i brz način da ljudi saznaju svoj HIV status. Naglašavaju također kako svaki pozitivan test zahtjeva potvrdu kod liječnika.

Prvi kućni testovi u američkim ljekarnama bit će dostupni u listopadu, cijena još nije poznata, no pretpostavlja se da će biti viša od 17.50 dolara. Poznato je također kako bi otprilike jedna osoba na 5000 testiranih dobiti lažno pozitivan test, a jedna na njih 12 bi mogla dobiti lažno negativan nalaz.
