Gary Oldman opet je nominiran za Oscara za najbolju glavnu mušku ulogu u Filmu 'Mank' Davida Finchera. Riječ je o istinitoj priči o scenaristu Hermanu Mankiewiczu i stvaranju kultnog filma 'Građanin Kane'.

Glumac je za Los Angeles Times ispričao da se već prije počeo suočavati s tjeskobom oko svojih uloga i karijere te je osjećao razne nesigurnosti. Godinu dana nakon što je osvojio Oscara za svoj uvjerljivi prikaz Winstona Churchilla u biografskom filmu 'Darkest hour' iz 2017. godine, stalno je zapitkivao suprugu je li bio dovoljno dobar, brinulo ga je je li nagrada zaslužena.

Oldmanova tjeskoba dosegla je nove dubine kada je počeo raditi na Manku. Mankiewicz je naporni namćor koji stalno pije i vrijeđa ljude pa je glumca bilo strah da ga ljudi neće voljeti kao protagonista. Međutim Fincher nikada nije sumnjao da bi Oldman mogao izvući Mankiewiczev šarm.

Sam Oldman ima dugogodišnje iskustvo s ovisnošću. U prva dva desetljeća svog odraslog života, bio je funkcionalni alkoholičar, iako sada s odmakom priznaje da taj dio funkcionalni treba uzeti s rezervom. Uspijevao je doduše zapamtiti svoje tekstove i na profesionalnom planu nije imao problema, ali kaže da je duboko u sebi uvijek 'znao'. Nakon dva boravka na rehabilitaciji, otrijeznio se i popio posljednje piće prije gotovo 24 godine.

Mankiewicz je često kada bi ga pitali zašto jednom ne ode kući trijezan odgovarao. ”Što pa da me onda supruga izbaci na ulicu?” Oldman kaže da se on na jednako glupave načine izvlačio od neugodnih pitanja.

"Ljudi romantiziraju alkoholizam, čak i ja sam ga romantizirao. Svi su moji heroji bili pijanci ili ovisnici o opijumu, i onda su mi ti svi ti pjesnici, dramaturzi i glumci koji su bili veliki pijanci zamutili pogled na to kako stvari stvarno stoje,” kaže Oldman.

Volio je dovitljive citate pisaca o alkoholizmu i piću, ali danas najadekvatnijom smatra onu Scotta Fitzgeralda koji je rekao da prvo piće piješ ti, a već drugo pije tebe. Nemoguće je odvojiti te dvije stvari smatra danas.

”Znao sam se znojiti votkom. Alkohol postane vaš integralni dio. Moj bi jezik ujutro bio crn, a ja bih rekao da je za to kriv novi šampon. Ne bih to poželio svom najgorem neprijatelju, da bude pod okriljem alkohola. To je pakao. A sve te duhovite doskočice? To je samo tu da prikrije osjećaj nezadovoljstva i nedostatnosti."

Gary Oldman opet je nominiran za Oscara za najbolju glavnu mušku ulogu u Filmu 'Mank' Davida Finchera. Riječ je o istinitoj priči o scenaristu Hermanu Mankiewiczu i stvaranju kultnog filma 'Građanin Kane'.

Glumac je za Los Angeles Times ispričao da se već prije počeo suočavati s tjeskobom oko svojih uloga i karijere te je osjećao razne nesigurnosti. Godinu dana nakon što je osvojio Oscara za svoj uvjerljivi prikaz Winstona Churchilla u biografskom filmu 'Darkest hour' iz 2017. godine, stalno je zapitkivao suprugu je li bio dovoljno dobar, brinulo ga je je li nagrada zaslužena.

Oldmanova tjeskoba dosegla je nove dubine kada je počeo raditi na Manku. Mankiewicz je naporni namćor koji stalno pije i vrijeđa ljude pa je glumca bilo strah da ga ljudi neće voljeti kao protagonista. Međutim Fincher nikada nije sumnjao da bi Oldman mogao izvući Mankiewiczev šarm.

Sam Oldman ima dugogodišnje iskustvo s ovisnošću. U prva dva desetljeća svog odraslog života, bio je funkcionalni alkoholičar, iako sada s odmakom priznaje da taj dio funkcionalni treba uzeti s rezervom. Uspijevao je doduše zapamtiti svoje tekstove i na profesionalnom planu nije imao problema, ali kaže da je duboko u sebi uvijek 'znao'. Nakon dva boravka na rehabilitaciji, otrijeznio se i popio posljednje piće prije gotovo 24 godine.

Mankiewicz je često kada bi ga pitali zašto jednom ne ode kući trijezan odgovarao. ”Što pa da me onda supruga izbaci na ulicu?” Oldman kaže da se on na jednako glupave načine izvlačio od neugodnih pitanja.

"Ljudi romantiziraju alkoholizam, čak i ja sam ga romantizirao. Svi su moji heroji bili pijanci ili ovisnici o opijumu, i onda su mi ti svi ti pjesnici, dramaturzi i glumci koji su bili veliki pijanci zamutili pogled na to kako stvari stvarno stoje,” kaže Oldman.

Volio je dovitljive citate pisaca o alkoholizmu i piću, ali danas najadekvatnijom smatra onu Scotta Fitzgeralda koji je rekao da prvo piće piješ ti, a već drugo pije tebe. Nemoguće je odvojiti te dvije stvari smatra danas.

”Znao sam se znojiti votkom. Alkohol postane vaš integralni dio. Moj bi jezik ujutro bio crn, a ja bih rekao da je za to kriv novi šampon. Ne bih to poželio svom najgorem neprijatelju, da bude pod okriljem alkohola. To je pakao. A sve te duhovite doskočice? To je samo tu da prikrije osjećaj nezadovoljstva i nedostatnosti."

Gary Oldman opet je nominiran za Oscara za najbolju glavnu mušku ulogu u Filmu 'Mank' Davida Finchera. Riječ je o istinitoj priči o scenaristu Hermanu Mankiewiczu i stvaranju kultnog filma 'Građanin Kane'.

Glumac je za Los Angeles Times ispričao da se već prije počeo suočavati s tjeskobom oko svojih uloga i karijere te je osjećao razne nesigurnosti. Godinu dana nakon što je osvojio Oscara za svoj uvjerljivi prikaz Winstona Churchilla u biografskom filmu 'Darkest hour' iz 2017. godine, stalno je zapitkivao suprugu je li bio dovoljno dobar, brinulo ga je je li nagrada zaslužena.

Oldmanova tjeskoba dosegla je nove dubine kada je počeo raditi na Manku. Mankiewicz je naporni namćor koji stalno pije i vrijeđa ljude pa je glumca bilo strah da ga ljudi neće voljeti kao...
