Obična voda, iako ju je poželjno piti, nema najveća hidratizirajuća svojstva, prema studiji sa škotskog Sveučilišta St. Andrews koja je uspoređivala učinak hidratacije nekoliko različitih pića, piše Živim.hr.

Istraživači su otkrili da voda prilično dobro i brzo hidratizira tijelo, ali napici s malo šećera, masti ili proteina naš organizam drže duže hidratiziranim. Prema Ronaldu Maughanu, profesoru na Medicinskom fakultetu Sveučilišta St. Andrews i autoru studije, jedan od čimbenika je volumen određenog pića: što više pijete, piće brže odlazi iz želuca te se apsorbira u krvotok, gdje može razrijediti tjelesne tekućine i hidratizirati vas.

Drugi čimbenik koji utječe na to koliko dobro napitak hidratizira tijelo odnosi se na sastav hranjivih tvari u piću. Na primjer, utvrđeno je da mlijeko bolje hidratizira od obične vode jer sadrži laktozu, neke proteine i malo masti, a sve to pomaže produljiti zadržavanje tekućine u želucu i održati hidrataciju tijekom duljeg vremena. Mlijeko također sadrži natrij, koji djeluje poput spužve i zadržava vodu u tijelu, što za posljedicu ima manje izlučenog urina. Isto vrijedi i za oralne rehidracijske otopine koje se koriste za liječenje proljeva. Sadrže male količine šećera, natrij i kalij, koji također pomažu zadržavanju vode u tijelu.

- Elektroliti poput natrija i kalija pridonose boljoj hidrataciji, dok kalorije u pićima rezultiraju sporijim pražnjenjem želuca, a time i manjom potrebom za mokrenjem - rekla je Melissa Majumdar, dijetetičarka i glasnogovornica Akademije za prehranu i dijetetiku.

No, tu treba biti oprezan - pića s koncentriranijim šećerima, poput voćnih ili gaziranih sokova, nisu nužno toliko hidratizirajuća da bi se zanemarila šteta koju mogu izazvati. Dulje se zadržavaju u želucu od obične vode, ali kada uđu u tanko crijevo, njihova visoka koncentracija šećera razrjeđuje se tijekom fiziološkog procesa koji se naziva osmoza.

Ovim procesom zapravo se povlači voda iz tijela u tanko crijevo kako bi se razrijedili šećeri koje ta pića sadrže. Uz to, sadrže dodatne šećere i kalorije koje nas doduše neće toliko zasititi kao čvrsta hrana, ali su ipak šećeri, objasnila je Majumdar. U umjerenim količinama neće negativno djelovati na zdravlje, no većina nije umjerena s takvim pićima pa se savjetuje ipak što češće posegnuti za vodom, objavio je Živim.hr.

Obična voda, iako ju je poželjno piti, nema najveća hidratizirajuća svojstva, prema studiji sa škotskog Sveučilišta St. Andrews koja je uspoređivala učinak hidratacije nekoliko različitih pića, piše Živim.hr.

Istraživači su otkrili da voda prilično dobro i brzo hidratizira tijelo, ali napici s malo šećera, masti ili proteina naš organizam drže duže hidratiziranim. Prema Ronaldu Maughanu, profesoru na Medicinskom fakultetu Sveučilišta St. Andrews i autoru studije, jedan od čimbenika je volumen određenog pića: što više pijete, piće brže odlazi iz želuca te se apsorbira u krvotok, gdje može razrijediti tjelesne tekućine i hidratizirati vas.

Drugi čimbenik koji utječe na to koliko dobro napitak hidratizira tijelo odnosi se na sastav hranjivih tvari u piću. Na primjer, utvrđeno je da mlijeko bolje hidratizira od obične vode jer sadrži laktozu, neke proteine i malo masti, a sve to pomaže produljiti zadržavanje tekućine u želucu i održati hidrataciju tijekom duljeg vremena. Mlijeko također sadrži natrij, koji djeluje poput spužve i zadržava vodu u tijelu, što za posljedicu ima manje izlučenog urina. Isto vrijedi i za oralne rehidracijske otopine koje se koriste za liječenje proljeva. Sadrže male količine šećera, natrij i kalij, koji također pomažu zadržavanju vode u tijelu.

- Elektroliti poput natrija i kalija pridonose boljoj hidrataciji, dok kalorije u pićima rezultiraju sporijim pražnjenjem želuca, a time i manjom potrebom za mokrenjem - rekla je Melissa Majumdar, dijetetičarka i glasnogovornica Akademije za prehranu i dijetetiku.

No, tu treba biti oprezan - pića s koncentriranijim šećerima, poput voćnih ili gaziranih sokova, nisu nužno toliko hidratizirajuća da bi se zanemarila šteta koju mogu izazvati. Dulje se zadržavaju u želucu od obične vode, ali kada uđu u tanko crijevo, njihova visoka koncentracija šećera razrjeđuje se tijekom fiziološkog procesa koji se naziva osmoza.

Ovim procesom zapravo se povlači voda iz tijela u tanko crijevo kako bi se razrijedili šećeri koje ta pića sadrže. Uz to, sadrže dodatne šećere i kalorije koje nas doduše neće toliko zasititi kao čvrsta hrana, ali su ipak šećeri, objasnila je Majumdar. U umjerenim količinama neće negativno djelovati na zdravlje, no većina nije umjerena s takvim pićima pa se savjetuje ipak što češće posegnuti za vodom, objavio je Živim.hr.

Iako ju je poželjno piti, postoje pića koja naš organizam dulje od vode drže hidratiziranim

Obična voda, iako ju je poželjno piti, nema najveća hidratizirajuća svojstva, prema studiji sa škotskog Sveučilišta St. Andrews koja je uspoređivala učinak hidratacije nekoliko različitih pića, piše Živim.hr.

Istraživači su otkrili da voda prilično dobro i brzo hidratizira tijelo, ali napici s malo šećera, masti ili proteina naš organizam drže duže hidratiziranim. Prema Ronaldu Maughanu, profesoru na Medicinskom fakultetu Sveučilišta St. Andrews i autoru studije, jedan od čimbenika je volumen određenog pića: što više pijete, piće brže odlazi iz želuca te se apsorbira u krvotok, gdje može razrijediti tjelesne tekućine i hidratizirati vas.
