Novi koronavirus može se zadržati u ejakulatu i nakon što su se muškarci počeli oporavljati od covida-19, utvrdili su kineski znanstvenici a to povećava izglede za spolno prenošenje virusa, piše CNN.

Tim iz bolnice Shangqiu testirao je 38 pacijenata u jeku pandemije covida-19 u Kini u siječnju i veljači.
Oko 16 posto njih imalo je tragove koronavirusa u ejakulatu, izvijestili su znanstvenici u radu objavljenom u časopisu JAMA Network Open.

Četvrtina je bila u akutnoj fazi bolesti, a gotovo devet posto u fazi oporavka, naveli su.

"Utvrdili smo prisustvo virusa SARS-CoV-2 u ejakulatu pacijenata s covidom-19 i virus SARS-CoV-2 mogao se još uvijek otkriti kod onih koji se bili u fazi oporavka", napisao je u radu Diangeng Li iz vojne bolnice u Pekingu.

"Čak i ako se virus ne može razmnožiti u muškom reproduktivnom sustavu, on može opstati - moguće zbog teže dostupnosti testisa djelovanju imunosnog sustava", dodaje tim.

Otkriće nije iznenađujuće jer mnogi virusi mogu živjeti u muškom reproduktivnom traktu.

Virusi ebole i zike otkriveni su u ejakulatu, ponekad mjesecima nakon što se muškarac oporavio.

Nije jasno može li se koronavirus širiti tim putem. Pronalazak tragova virusa još uvijek ne znači nužno da je zarazan.

"Kad bi se budućim istraživanjima moglo dokazati da se SARS-CoV-2 može prenijeti spolnim putem, taj bi put prijenosa bio jedan od ključnih dijelova borbe protiv širenja bolesti", napisao je tim.

"Apstinencija ili korištenje kondoma moglo bi se razmotriti kao preventivna mjera kod tih pacijenata. U dodatku na to vrijedno je spomenuti da postoji potreba za istraživanjima koja prate razvoj fetusa. Stoga, možda nije dovoljno samo izbjegavati kontakt sa slinom ili krvlju oboljelih jer opstanak virusa SARS-CoV-2 u ejakulatu pacijenata koji se oporavljaju nosi vjerojatnost širenja zaraze", poručuju znanstvenici.

Novi koronavirus može se zadržati u ejakulatu i nakon što su se muškarci počeli oporavljati od covida-19, utvrdili su kineski znanstvenici a to povećava izglede za spolno prenošenje virusa, piše CNN.

Tim iz bolnice Shangqiu testirao je 38 pacijenata u jeku pandemije covida-19 u Kini u siječnju i veljači.
Oko 16 posto njih imalo je tragove koronavirusa u ejakulatu, izvijestili su znanstvenici u radu objavljenom u časopisu JAMA Network Open.

Četvrtina je bila u akutnoj fazi bolesti, a gotovo devet posto u fazi oporavka, naveli su.

"Utvrdili smo prisustvo virusa SARS-CoV-2 u ejakulatu pacijenata s covidom-19 i virus SARS-CoV-2 mogao se još uvijek otkriti kod onih koji se bili u fazi oporavka", napisao je u radu Diangeng Li iz vojne bolnice u Pekingu.

"Čak i ako se virus ne može razmnožiti u muškom reproduktivnom sustavu, on može opstati - moguće zbog teže dostupnosti testisa djelovanju imunosnog sustava", dodaje tim.

Otkriće nije iznenađujuće jer mnogi virusi mogu živjeti u muškom reproduktivnom traktu.

Virusi ebole i zike otkriveni su u ejakulatu, ponekad mjesecima nakon što se muškarac oporavio.

Nije jasno može li se koronavirus širiti tim putem. Pronalazak tragova virusa još uvijek ne znači nužno da je zarazan.

"Kad bi se budućim istraživanjima moglo dokazati da se SARS-CoV-2 može prenijeti spolnim putem, taj bi put prijenosa bio jedan od ključnih dijelova borbe protiv širenja bolesti", napisao je tim.

"Apstinencija ili korištenje kondoma moglo bi se razmotriti kao preventivna mjera kod tih pacijenata. U dodatku na to vrijedno je spomenuti da postoji potreba za istraživanjima koja prate razvoj fetusa. Stoga, možda nije dovoljno samo izbjegavati kontakt sa slinom ili krvlju oboljelih jer opstanak virusa SARS-CoV-2 u ejakulatu pacijenata koji se oporavljaju nosi vjerojatnost širenja zaraze", poručuju znanstvenici.

Novi koronavirus može se zadržati u ejakulatu i nakon što su se muškarci počeli oporavljati od covida-19, utvrdili su kineski znanstvenici a to povećava izglede za spolno prenošenje virusa, piše CNN.

Tim iz bolnice Shangqiu testirao je 38 pacijenata u jeku pandemije covida-19 u Kini u siječnju i veljači.
Oko 16 posto njih imalo je tragove koronavirusa u ejakulatu, izvijestili su znanstvenici u radu objavljenom u časopisu JAMA Network Open.

Četvrtina je bila u akutnoj fazi bolesti, a gotovo devet posto u fazi oporavka, naveli su.

"Utvrdili smo prisustvo virusa SARS-CoV-2 u ejakulatu pacijenata s covidom-19 i virus SARS-CoV-2 mogao se još uvijek otkriti kod onih koji se bili u fazi oporavka", napisao je u radu Diangeng Li iz vojne bolnice u Pekingu.
