Ma kakvi crveni tepih na dodjeli Oscara, ma kakav party Vanity Faira, najglamurozniji i najekstravagantniji događaj u svijetu slavnih i bezobrazno bogatih je Met Gala, glamurozni bal u njujorškom muzeju Metropolitan koji će se ove godine održati po 150., jublarni put. Tradicionalno se održava prvog ponedjeljka u svibnju, što znači da ćemo ove godine 4. svibnja gledati najveće zvijezde kako se uspinju onim poznatim širokim stubištem i poziraju u nevjerojatnm kostimima.

Luksuzne, a često rubno bizarne haljine svake su godine u skladu s drugom zadanom temom, odnosno bar bi trebale biti, a tema ovisi o izložbi u Metropolitanovom institutu Costume Institute. Ove godine tema je 'About Time: Fashion and Duration', posvećena modi u ženskom odijevanju od 1870. godine do danas, a nadahnuta je idejama Virginije Wolf i filozofa Henrija Bergsona o kontinuitetu vremena, a odnosit će se na žensku modu od 1870 do danas.
Glavna inspiracija su Wolfina novela Orlando i njena ekranizacija iz 1992. u kojoj su kostimografija, šminka i frizure nadahnute Marijom Antoinettom. Ma kakvi crveni tepih na dodjeli Oscara, ma kakav party Vanity Faira, najglamurozniji i najekstravagantniji događaj u svijetu slavnih i bezobrazno bogatih je Met Gala, glamurozni bal u njujorškom muzeju Metropolitan koji će se ove godine održati po 150., jublarni put. Tradicionalno se održava prvog ponedjeljka u svibnju, što znači da ćemo ove godine 4. svibnja gledati najveće zvijezde kako se uspinju onim poznatim širokim stubištem i poziraju u nevjerojatnm kostimima.
Prisjetimo se samo Rihanne u haljini s potpisom Maison Margiela koja je skandalizirala dio javnosti jer je bila malo previše nalik na papinu odoru, Beyoncé u potpuno prozirnoj Givenchy haljni kojoj su u jednako prozirnim opravama s potpisom Puccija i Versacea konkurirale Kim Kardashian West i Jennifer Lopez.

Teško je zaboraviti Katy Perry u kreaciji nalik na kristalni svjećnjak, Jereda Letoa s 'odrezanom glavom' pod rukom i Lady Gagu u drečavo ružičastoj haljini od, kako se činilo, bar deset metara materijala, a slično bi se moglo pomisliti i za baršunastu tamnocrveno-zlatnu haljinu Ateliera Versace koju je nosila Blake Lively.

Luksuzne, a često rubno bizarne haljine svake su godine u skladu s drugom zadanom temom, odnosno bar bi trebale biti, a tema ovisi o izložbi u Metropolitanovom institutu Costume Institute. Ove godine tema je 'About Time: Fashion and Duration', posvećena modi u ženskom odijevanju od 1870. godine do danas, a nadahnuta je idejama Virginije Wolf i filozofa Henrija Bergsona o kontinuitetu vremena, a odnosit će se na žensku modu od 1870 do danas.
Glavna inspiracija su Wolfina novela Orlando i njena ekranizacija iz 1992. u kojoj su kostimografija, šminka i frizure nadahnute Marijom Antoinettom. Nema sumnje da će se mnoge uzvanice prilikom biranja haljine 'ogrebati' o stil tragične francuske kraljice, a kad već spominjemo uzvanice, a i plemstvo, evo podatka o kome se dugo nagađalo: da, Meghan Markle će se pojaviti na Met Gali.
