Mary Wilson iz Južne Karoline doživjela je strašnu nesreću uzrokovanu fenom, odnosno opekotinom fenom. Kako prenosi foxnews, liječnici su joj nakon toga amputirali ruku do lakta.

Wilson je zatim hitno prevezena u bolnicu gdje su liječnici rekli da su njezine ozljede bile toliko ozbiljne - zbog teškog oštećenja živaca uzrokovanog toplinom sušila za kosu - da su joj šaka i zglob morali biti amputirani.

"Opekotine na mojoj ruci bile su opekline trećeg stupnja, bile su sve do kosti", rekla je Wilson.

Mary Wilson iz Južne Karoline doživjela je strašnu nesreću uzrokovanu fenom, odnosno opekotinom fenom. Kako prenosi foxnews, liječnici su joj nakon toga amputirali ruku do lakta.

Wilson je obavljala svoje dnevne poslove, sušila kosu prije spavanja u svojoj kući na otoku James kada se iznenada onesvijestila držeći aparat. Pala je na pod i doskočila na sušilo za kosu, no uređaj je i dalje radio na visokoj snazi ​​i opekao joj je ruku, zadobivši opekline trećeg stupnja.

Wilson je rekla da je bez svijesti ležala na podu oko 20 minuta prije nego što ju je njezin partner pronašao. Rekao mi je: Pogledaj svoju ruku!

"Gledam svoju ruku. Čak i ne registriram da je dio mene. Ne izgleda čak ni prepoznatljivo." piše Kurir. 

Wilson je zatim hitno prevezena u bolnicu gdje su liječnici rekli da su njezine ozljede bile toliko ozbiljne - zbog teškog oštećenja živaca uzrokovanog toplinom sušila za kosu - da su joj šaka i zglob morali biti amputirani.

"Opekotine na mojoj ruci bile su opekline trećeg stupnja, bile su sve do kosti", rekla je Wilson.

Rekla je da sušilo za kosu nije imalo automatsko isključivanje kao drugi vrući alati za kosu i da bi joj takav sigurnosni mehanizam možda spasio ruku. "Vidite to kod kovrčavih i ravnih glačala - oni imaju tu keramičku ploču koja se isključuje kad dosegne određenu temperaturu", rekla je. – Da jest, možda moje ozljede ne bi bile tako teške. 

Nije jasno zbog čega se Wilson onesvijestio. Wilson kaže da je morala napustiti posao timaritelja pasa i nije sigurna hoće li se u budućnosti moći vratiti toj ulozi.

"Apsolutno mi nedostaje, nedostaju mi ​​psi, nedostaju mi ​​klijenti", rekla je Wilson.

– Nastavit ću živjeti svoj život punim plućima. To je samo ruka. Što je ovo, 10 posto mog tijela? Gubitak ruke je možda nešto što mijenja tko sam, ali to ne znači da me definira u svemu", rekla je Wilson.
