Kozmetičke marke Chanel, Revlon i L'Oreal polako odustaju od uporabe talka u svojim proizvodima, a pridružuju im se i druge kozmetičke kompanije. Sudske tužbe u SAD-u o tome kako taj sastojak uzrokuje rak uzrokovale su zabrinutost potrošača.
Luksuzna kozmetička kompanija Chanel uklonila je talk iz praškastog pudera za lice i pudera za tijelo, zbog negativne percepcije njegova mineralnog sastava, pokazali su sudski dokumenti koje je Reuters imao na uvid.
Korporacija Revlon uklonila je talk iz svojih proizvoda za njegu tijela, a L'Oreal istražuje alternativu za taj mineral, rekle su te kompanije Reutersu.
Takvi potezi dolaze nakon ispitivanja potrošačkih grupa, regulatora i proizvođača talka. Talk se ponekad nalazi u istoj stijeni kao azbest koji ima jako kancerogeno djelovanje, a rabi se u tisućama raznih kozmetičkih i proizvoda za osobnu njegu, jer apsorbira vlagu, sprječava znojenje i čini kožu mekom.
Tisuće tužbi protiv raka, neke i iz 2013. godine, podignute su protiv Johnson&Johnsona (J&J). Navodi tužitelja da je azbestna kontaminacija uzrokovala karcinom započeli su 2017. godine. Drugi proizvođači pudera od talka također su se našli suočeni s tužbama, uključujući Revlon, Chanel i Avon.

Ispitivanja proizvoda s talkom pojačana su nakon Reutersove istrage tijekom 2018. godine kada je objavljeno da je J&J desetljećima znao da se u talku i prahu nalaze azbestne tvari. Tvrtka je zanijekala Reutersovo izvješće, s tvrdnjom da je njezin puder siguran za zdravlje i bez azbesta.
J&J je prošli mjesec najavio da će prestati prodavati baby puder u SAD-u i Kanadi, kao razlog navodeći pad prodaje i negativu reklamu.
U ožujku je predstavnik Chanela u sudskom iskazu otkrio je da je kompanija 2017. prestala izrađivati prah za tijelo na bazi talka s mirisom Chanelom 5, nakon sudskog procesa u Los Angelesu u kojem je žena iz Kalifornije tvrdila da je dobila rak mezotheliom jer je koristila pudere Chanela i J&J-a. Mesotheliom je vrsta neizlječivog rijetkog karcinoma sluznice pluća i drugih organa zbog izloženosti azbestu.
Predstavnica Chanela Amy Wyatt izjavila je da je Chanel prvi put tužen zbog svog talka u prahu 2016. godine, ali i ona je zanijekala da puderi Chanela sadrže azbest te da su puder odlučili maknuti s tržišta zbog percepcije javnosti.
Chanel, koji i dalje koristi talk u nekim drugim proizvodima, uključujući neke druge vrste pudera, rumenila i sjenila, tvrdi da sav talk koji koristi bira prema strogim kriterijima čistoće i da je potpuno u skladu s trenutnim propisima, te siguran za standardne uvjete kozmetičke uporabe. Nisu željeli komentirati sudske sporove.
Glasnogovornik Revlona ustvrdio je da je kompanija uklonila talk iz proizvoda za njegu tijela, no nije odgovorio kada i zašto, kao ni na pitanja o parničnim postupcima.
L'Oreal je priopćio da traži zamjenu za talk ali je do sada nije našao.

"Poznate su djelomične alternative, a mi i dalje istražujemo i ozbiljno tražimo dobru zamjenu", rekla je glasnogovornica te kompanije.
L'Oreal, kao i druge tvrtke, traži od dobavljača da jednom godišnje potvrde kako je njihov talk bez azbesta, a to čini i u internim testiranjima, objavila je kompanija.
Druge tvrtke također su prestale prodavati talk u prahu. Njemački Beiersdorf rekao je da je 2018. prešao na kukuruzni škrob u svom dječjem puderu Nivea. Bausch Health je promijenio formulu svog Shower Shower praha za 2018. godinu „kako bi proizvod bio u skladu s tržišnim trendovima i preferencijama kupaca“, a nije kao razlog naveo sigurnosne probleme.
Bausch, koji je zadnji put prodavao talk u prahu u veljači 2019. godine, suočen je sa 165 tužbi, a 12 procesa je u tijeku, pokazuju dokumenti.

Sanofi, proizvođač pudera Gold Bond, rekao je Reutersu da stoji iza svog pudera od talka i da "energično" osporava tužbe.
Očekuje se da će potrošači u ove godine kupiti 139.350 tona talka, što je 0,6 posto manje u odnosu na prošlu godinu, objavio je Euromonitor International.
U prošloj godini, nakon analize 52 kozmetička proizvoda koja sadrže talk, američka Uprava za hranu i lijekove (FDA) pronašla je azbest u devet proizvoda. Svi su proizvodi dobrovoljno povučeni.
FDA će u ovoj godini analizirati još 50 uzoraka te razmatra uspostavu standarda za ispitivanje azbesta.
Kanadsko ministarstvo zdravlja 2018. godine je preliminarno zaključilo da sam talk može uzrokovati probleme s plućima ako se udahne, te rak jajnika ako se koristi na području genitalnih organa. Konačna odluka, koja se očekuje sljedeće godine, mogla bi dovesti do zabrane ili ograničenja upotrebe talka u određenim proizvodima u Kanadi.

Kozmetičke marke Chanel, Revlon i L'Oreal polako odustaju od uporabe talka u svojim proizvodima, a pridružuju im se i druge kozmetičke kompanije. Sudske tužbe u SAD-u o tome kako taj sastojak uzrokuje rak uzrokovale su zabrinutost potrošača.
Luksuzna kozmetička kompanija Chanel uklonila je talk iz praškastog pudera za lice i pudera za tijelo, zbog negativne percepcije njegova mineralnog sastava, pokazali su sudski dokumenti koje je Reuters imao na uvid.
Korporacija Revlon uklonila je talk iz svojih proizvoda za njegu tijela, a L'Oreal istražuje alternativu za taj mineral, rekle su te kompanije Reutersu.
Takvi potezi dolaze nakon ispitivanja potrošačkih grupa, regulatora i proizvođača talka. Talk se ponekad nalazi u istoj stijeni kao azbest koji ima jako kancerogeno djelovanje, a rabi se u tisućama raznih kozmetičkih i proizvoda za osobnu njegu, jer apsorbira vlagu, sprječava znojenje i čini kožu mekom.
Tisuće tužbi protiv raka, neke i iz 2013. godine, podignute su protiv Johnson&Johnsona (J&J). Navodi tužitelja da je azbestna kontaminacija uzrokovala karcinom započeli su 2017. godine. Drugi proizvođači pudera od talka također su se našli suočeni s tužbama, uključujući Revlon, Chanel i Avon.

Ispitivanja proizvoda s talkom pojačana su nakon Reutersove istrage tijekom 2018. godine kada je objavljeno da je J&J desetljećima znao da se u talku i prahu nalaze azbestne tvari. Tvrtka je zanijekala Reutersovo izvješće, s tvrdnjom da je njezin puder siguran za zdravlje i bez azbesta.
J&J je prošli mjesec najavio da će prestati prodavati baby puder u SAD-u i Kanadi, kao razlog navodeći pad prodaje i negativu reklamu.
U ožujku je predstavnik Chanela u sudskom iskazu otkrio je da je kompanija 2017. prestala izrađivati prah za tijelo na bazi talka s mirisom Chanelom 5, nakon sudskog procesa u Los Angelesu u kojem je žena iz Kalifornije tvrdila da je dobila rak mezotheliom jer je koristila pudere Chanela i J&J-a. Mesotheliom je vrsta neizlječivog rijetkog karcinoma sluznice pluća i drugih organa zbog izloženosti azbestu.
Predstavnica Chanela Amy Wyatt izjavila je da je Chanel prvi put tužen zbog svog talka u prahu 2016. godine, ali i ona je zanijekala da puderi Chanela sadrže azbest te da su puder odlučili maknuti s tržišta zbog percepcije javnosti.
Chanel, koji i dalje koristi talk u nekim drugim proizvodima, uključujući neke druge vrste pudera, rumenila i sjenila, tvrdi da sav talk koji koristi bira prema strogim kriterijima čistoće i da je potpuno u skladu s trenutnim propisima, te siguran za standardne uvjete kozmetičke uporabe. Nisu željeli komentirati sudske sporove.
Glasnogovornik Revlona ustvrdio je da je kompanija uklonila talk iz proizvoda za njegu tijela, no nije odgovorio kada i zašto, kao ni na pitanja o parničnim postupcima.
L'Oreal je priopćio da traži zamjenu za talk ali je do sada nije našao.

"Poznate su djelomične alternative, a mi i dalje istražujemo i ozbiljno tražimo dobru zamjenu", rekla je glasnogovornica te kompanije.
L'Oreal, kao i druge tvrtke, traži od dobavljača da jednom godišnje potvrde kako je njihov talk bez azbesta, a to čini i u internim testiranjima, objavila je kompanija.
Druge tvrtke također su prestale prodavati talk u prahu. Njemački Beiersdorf rekao je da je 2018. prešao na kukuruzni škrob u svom dječjem puderu Nivea. Bausch Health je promijenio formulu svog Shower Shower praha za 2018. godinu „kako bi proizvod bio u skladu s tržišnim trendovima i preferencijama kupaca“, a nije kao razlog naveo sigurnosne probleme.
Bausch, koji je zadnji put prodavao talk u prahu u veljači 2019. godine, suočen je sa 165 tužbi, a 12 procesa je u tijeku, pokazuju dokumenti.

Sanofi, proizvođač pudera Gold Bond, rekao je Reutersu da stoji iza svog pudera od talka i da "energično" osporava tužbe.
Očekuje se da će potrošači u ove godine kupiti 139.350 tona talka, što je 0,6 posto manje u odnosu na prošlu godinu, objavio je Euromonitor International.
U prošloj godini, nakon analize 52 kozmetička proizvoda koja sadrže talk, američka Uprava za hranu i lijekove (FDA) pronašla je azbest u devet proizvoda. Svi su proizvodi dobrovoljno povučeni.
FDA će u ovoj godini analizirati još 50 uzoraka te razmatra uspostavu standarda za ispitivanje azbesta.
Kanadsko ministarstvo zdravlja 2018. godine je preliminarno zaključilo da sam talk može uzrokovati probleme s plućima ako se udahne, te rak jajnika ako se koristi na području genitalnih organa. Konačna odluka, koja se očekuje sljedeće godine, mogla bi dovesti do zabrane ili ograničenja upotrebe talka u određenim proizvodima u Kanadi.
