Kad je polovinom travnja umjetnički ravnatelj Thierry Frémaux otkrio naslove filmova u natjecateljskom programu 71. izdanja canneskog festivala, ali i izvan njega, neki su bili pomalo razočarani popisom. Dobro, riječ “razočarani“ je preteška za festival koji otvara film “Everybody Knows“ s oskarovcima iza (Asghar Farhadi) i ispred kamere (Javier Bardem, Penelope Cruz).

Preteška je i za konkurenciju u kojoj se nalaze Pawel Pawlikowski (“Cold War“), Jean-Luc Godard (“Le Livre D'Image“), Spike Lee (“Black Klansman“), Jafar Panahi (“Three Faces“), Matteo Garrone (“Dogman“), David Robert Mitchell (“Under The Silver Lake“), Hirokazu Kore-Eda (“Shoplifters“), Jia Zhang-Ke (“Ash Is Purest White“), Lee-Chang Dong (“Burning“), Alice Rohrwacher (“Lazzaro Felice“), Stephane Brize (“At War“), Kirill Srebrennikov (“Leto“), Christophe Honore (“Sorry Angel“)…

Kao i za specijalne “screeninge“ novog Wima Wendersa (“Pope Francis: A Man Of His Word“) i premijeru spektakla “Solo: A Star Wars Story“ Rona Howarda. Međutim, Cannesu je trebalo još teškokategornika, stoga je njegov “prosjek“ svakako podigla naknadna, nedavna objava da je u konkurenciju uvršten novi uradak Turčina Nurija Builgea Ceylana (“The Wild Pear Tree“).

Odnosno, da se izvan nje nalazi kontroverzni, zbog nacističkih izjava od festivala svojedobno izopćeni Lars Von Trier koji se vraća na “mjesto zločina“ s filmom “The House That Jack Built“, te da festival zatvara napokon snimljeni “The Man Who Killed Don Quixote“ Terryja Gilliama.

Moglo je toga biti još da su filmove, kako se očekivalo, dovršili recimo Luca Guagagnino (“Suspiria“), Mike Leigh (“Peterloo“), Laszlo Nemes (“Sunset“), Yorgos Lanthimos (“Favourite“), Jacques Audiard (“The Sisters Brothers“) i Claire Denis (“High Life“), ali na konačan canneski popis rijetko tko bi smio imati prigovor.

Najmanje jedno superzvučno i kontroverzno ime nalazi se i u popratnom programu festivala 15 dana autora (Quinzane des realisateurs). To je Gaspar Noe koji će predstaviti novi film “Climax“. U tom programu vrti se i manjinska hrvatska koprodukcija “Teret“ Ognjena Glavonića.

S druge strane, u Tjednu kritike (La Semaine de la Critique), nalaze se također manjinske hrvatske koprodukcije “Chris the Swiss“ Anje Kofmel i “Treća vrsta“ Yorgosa Zoisa. Hrvatski film nije se dobacio do glavne konkurencije ili barem natjecateljskog programa Un Certain Regard, gdje je 2015. bio “Zvizdan“. No, barem će se kadrovi Splita ukazati u jednom filmu iz konkurencije - “Hladnom ratu“ Pawela Pawlikowskog.

Kad je polovinom travnja umjetnički ravnatelj Thierry Frémaux otkrio naslove filmova u natjecateljskom programu 71. izdanja canneskog festivala, ali i izvan njega, neki su bili pomalo razočarani popisom. Dobro, riječ “razočarani“ je preteška za festival koji otvara film “Everybody Knows“ s oskarovcima iza (Asghar Farhadi) i ispred kamere (Javier Bardem, Penelope Cruz).

Preteška je i za konkurenciju u kojoj se nalaze Pawel Pawlikowski (“Cold War“), Jean-Luc Godard (“Le Livre D'Image“), Spike Lee (“Black Klansman“), Jafar Panahi (“Three Faces“), Matteo Garrone (“Dogman“), David Robert Mitchell (“Under The Silver Lake“), Hirokazu Kore-Eda (“Shoplifters“), Jia Zhang-Ke (“Ash Is Purest White“), Lee-Chang Dong (“Burning“), Alice Rohrwacher (“Lazzaro Felice“), Stephane Brize (“At War“), Kirill Srebrennikov (“Leto“), Christophe Honore (“Sorry Angel“)…

Kao i za specijalne “screeninge“ novog Wima Wendersa (“Pope Francis: A Man Of His Word“) i premijeru spektakla “Solo: A Star Wars Story“ Rona Howarda. Međutim, Cannesu je trebalo još teškokategornika, stoga je njegov “prosjek“ svakako podigla naknadna, nedavna objava da je u konkurenciju uvršten novi uradak Turčina Nurija Builgea Ceylana (“The Wild Pear Tree“).

Odnosno, da se izvan nje nalazi kontroverzni, zbog nacističkih izjava od festivala svojedobno izopćeni Lars Von Trier koji se vraća na “mjesto zločina“ s filmom “The House That Jack Built“, te da festival zatvara napokon snimljeni “The Man Who Killed Don Quixote“ Terryja Gilliama.

Moglo je toga biti još da su filmove, kako se očekivalo, dovršili recimo Luca Guagagnino (“Suspiria“), Mike Leigh (“Peterloo“), Laszlo Nemes (“Sunset“), Yorgos Lanthimos (“Favourite“), Jacques Audiard (“The Sisters Brothers“) i Claire Denis (“High Life“), ali na konačan canneski popis rijetko tko bi smio imati prigovor.

Najmanje jedno superzvučno i kontroverzno ime nalazi se i u popratnom programu festivala 15 dana autora (Quinzane des realisateurs). To je Gaspar Noe koji će predstaviti novi film “Climax“. U tom programu vrti se i manjinska hrvatska koprodukcija “Teret“ Ognjena Glavonića.

S druge strane, u Tjednu kritike (La Semaine de la Critique), nalaze se također manjinske hrvatske koprodukcije “Chris the Swiss“ Anje Kofmel i “Treća vrsta“ Yorgosa Zoisa. Hrvatski film nije se dobacio do glavne konkurencije ili barem natjecateljskog programa Un Certain Regard, gdje je 2015. bio “Zvizdan“. No, barem će se kadrovi Splita ukazati u jednom filmu iz konkurencije - “Hladnom ratu“ Pawela Pawlikowskog.
