"Osobna anarhija" naziv je izložbe mladog splitskog umjetnika Josipa Šurlina koja je u organizaciji HULU-a Split upravo postavljena u splitskom Salonu "Galić".

Kako je u katalogu izložbe zapisao kustos Božo Kesić, Josip Šurlin je od početka samostalne karijere zaokupljen dijalektikom pojedinca i društva.

"Radovi na ovoj izložbi uglavnom simboliziraju iskustva socijalno marginaliziranog subjekta i načine na koje se suočava s vlastitim egzistencijalnim traumama.

Poprište tih događaja artificijelni su i nadrealni životni prostori obilježeni tek tragovima njihovog anonimnog stanara.

Oni su pojednostavljeni prikazi stvarnih 'ćelija' unutar suvremenih urbanih košnica i otjelovljuju nelagodna mjesta izrazito pogođena društvenom ili ekonomskom nejednakošću", bilježi Kesić, ističući kako Škurlin nadahnuće za oblikovanje većine svojih umjetničkih instalacija pronalazi ponajviše u neuglednim dijelovima splitske periferije, odnosno u tamošnjoj divljoj gradnji ili zapuštenim privatnim posjedima.

Ograničena ekonomska moć

"U obzoru izloženih radova Šurlin tumači ta mjesta kao ona na kojima se živi ili prinudno ili voluntarno.

Prvo opažanje povezano je s ograničenim ekonomskim mogućnostima pojedinca, a drugo se odnosi na neku vrstu dobrovoljnog izbjeglištva u odnosu na uobičajeni habitus življenja u urbanim sredinama.

Šurlin uočava da oba scenarija proizvode neku vrstu traumatičnog iskustva. U prvom slučaju pojedinac je stalno iznova izložen traumi zbog vlastite ekonomske paraliziranosti.

U drugom slučaju on svjesno odabire 'samoizolaciju' nastojeći izbjeći susret s već proživljenom traumom, ali ga ona unatoč tome ne mimoilazi, nego sustiže i postaje sastavnim dijelom njegovog životnog stila upravo stoga što je njegov egzil zasnovan na kompulzivnoj potrebi da se od nje zaštiti, pritom je rijetko gubeći iz vida."

Šurlinovi motivi i teme čine skup koji govori u prilog dosljednosti njegova stvaralaštva. Prema kustosu Kesiću, o tom skupu svjedoče sve njegove samostalne izložbe od 2017. godine do danas, pa i aktualna koja se održava u Salonu "Galić" pod nazivom "Osobna anarhija".

"Sadržaj izložbe posreduje pet recentno nastalih umjetničkih instalacija čija jednostavna, ali upečatljiva likovnost podrazumijeva hermeneutički pristup izložbi", zaključuje kustos.

Inače, 27-godišnji Josip Šurlin završio je Školu likovnih umjetnosti u Splitu 2012. godine. Iste godine upisuje Umjetničku akademiju u Splitu, smjer slikarstvo.

Studirao je u klasi prof. Gorkog Žuvele te je 2017. godine diplomirao slikarstvo pod mentorstvom prof. Viktora Popovića i prof. Neli Ružić.

Sudjelovao je na nekoliko skupnih izložbi i prezentirao radove na šest samostalnih izložbi. Na Prvom studentskom bijenalu osvaja i pismeno priznanje za rad.

Godine 2018. postaje članom Hrvatske udruge likovnih umjetnika u Splitu, gdje živi i radi. Izložba "Osobna anarhija" može se pogledati do 23. listopada.

"Osobna anarhija" naziv je izložbe mladog splitskog umjetnika Josipa Šurlina koja je u organizaciji HULU-a Split upravo postavljena u splitskom Salonu "Galić".

Kako je u katalogu izložbe zapisao kustos Božo Kesić, Josip Šurlin je od početka samostalne karijere zaokupljen dijalektikom pojedinca i društva.

"Radovi na ovoj izložbi uglavnom simboliziraju iskustva socijalno marginaliziranog subjekta i načine na koje se suočava s vlastitim egzistencijalnim traumama.

Poprište tih događaja artificijelni su i nadrealni životni prostori obilježeni tek tragovima njihovog anonimnog stanara.

Oni su pojednostavljeni prikazi stvarnih 'ćelija' unutar suvremenih urbanih košnica i otjelovljuju nelagodna mjesta izrazito pogođena društvenom ili ekonomskom nejednakošću", bilježi Kesić, ističući kako Škurlin nadahnuće za oblikovanje većine svojih umjetničkih instalacija pronalazi ponajviše u neuglednim dijelovima splitske periferije, odnosno u tamošnjoj divljoj gradnji ili zapuštenim privatnim posjedima.

Ograničena ekonomska moć

"U obzoru izloženih radova Šurlin tumači ta mjesta kao ona na kojima se živi ili prinudno ili voluntarno.

Prvo opažanje povezano je s ograničenim ekonomskim mogućnostima pojedinca, a drugo se odnosi na neku vrstu dobrovoljnog izbjeglištva u odnosu na uobičajeni habitus življenja u urbanim sredinama.

Šurlin uočava da oba scenarija proizvode neku vrstu traumatičnog iskustva. U prvom slučaju pojedinac je stalno iznova izložen traumi zbog vlastite ekonomske paraliziranosti.

U drugom slučaju on svjesno odabire 'samoizolaciju' nastojeći izbjeći susret s već proživljenom traumom, ali ga ona unatoč tome ne mimoilazi, nego sustiže i postaje sastavnim dijelom njegovog životnog stila upravo stoga što je njegov egzil zasnovan na kompulzivnoj potrebi da se od nje zaštiti, pritom je rijetko gubeći iz vida."

Šurlinovi motivi i teme čine skup koji govori u prilog dosljednosti njegova stvaralaštva. Prema kustosu Kesiću, o tom skupu svjedoče sve njegove samostalne izložbe od 2017. godine do danas, pa i aktualna koja se održava u Salonu "Galić" pod nazivom "Osobna anarhija".

"Sadržaj izložbe posreduje pet recentno nastalih umjetničkih instalacija čija jednostavna, ali upečatljiva likovnost podrazumijeva hermeneutički pristup izložbi", zaključuje kustos.

Inače, 27-godišnji Josip Šurlin završio je Školu likovnih umjetnosti u Splitu 2012. godine. Iste godine upisuje Umjetničku akademiju u Splitu, smjer slikarstvo.

Studirao je u klasi prof. Gorkog Žuvele te je 2017. godine diplomirao slikarstvo pod mentorstvom prof. Viktora Popovića i prof. Neli Ružić.

Sudjelovao je na nekoliko skupnih izložbi i prezentirao radove na šest samostalnih izložbi. Na Prvom studentskom bijenalu osvaja i pismeno priznanje za rad.

Godine 2018. postaje članom Hrvatske udruge likovnih umjetnika u Splitu, gdje živi i radi. Izložba "Osobna anarhija" može se pogledati do 23. listopada.
