U galeriji Prokulture na Peristilu, u ponedjeljak 12. lipnja u 20 sati biti će otvorena izložba fotografija s "Prve splitske alpinističke ekspedicije Spitsbergen ‘73" u organizaciji HPD Mosor.
Prije 50 godina, 9. lipnja 1973. iz toplog Splita na daleki hladni sjever krenula je prva splitska alpinistička ekspedicija, s ciljem otoka Spitsbergen, najvećeg i jedinog naseljenog otoka arhipelaga Svalbard u sjevernoj Norveškoj.
Bila je to prva organizirana ekspedicije HPD-a "Mosor", potaknuta od strane slovenskih alpinista koji su tamo organizirali ekspediciju 1964.godine, a planovi naših Mosoraša bili su prvenstveni alpinistički usponi u području Kongs fjorda.
Većina ranijih ekspedicija na Spitsbergen je bila znanstvenog karaktera pa je i većina stijena u alpinističkom smislu bila netaknuta jer su spomenute ekspedicije uglavnom za pristup na vrhove koristile najlakše puteve.
Ekspedicija je organizirana kao priprema za realizaciju buduće ekspedicije (Hindukuš) povodom nadolazeće proslave 100-te obljetnice planinarstva u Hrvatskoj i 50-te obljetnice HPD "Mosor".
Sudionici ekspedicije bili su članovi Alpinističkog odsjeka "Mosora": Nenad Čulić (vođa ekspedicije), Vinko Maroević -Mrva, Ivo Kaliterna – Kale, Ivo Kaštelančić – Kaštila, Boris Siriščević - Sira, Mario Ivanišević i Josip Ganza. Čulić je bio tada najbolji splitski alpinist svoje generacije, a sudjelovao je na prvoj hrvatskoj alpinističkoj ekspediciji na Grenlandu 1971. godine gdje je stekao iskustvo za organizaciju alpinističkih ekspedicija.

Bila je to uistinu posebna ekspedicija koja je krenula kombijem iz centra Splita odakle su Mosoraši, do norveškog Harstada prevalili put od 4325 km. U Harstadu su se ukrcali na brod "Store Nostada i njime se prebacili do rudarskog naselja Longyearbyen na Spitsbergenu i onda turističkim brodom do naselja Ny Alesund. Bazni logor su podigli 12 km od Ny Alesunda u dnu Kongs fjorda.
Unatoč veoma lošem vremenu koje je skoro čitavo vrijeme pratilo ekspediciju, postignut je zapažen uspjeh. Ispenjana su ukupno 44 smjera, od toga četiri prvenstvena u snijegu i ledu. Ovom uspjehu treba nadodati još i pet vrhova, od kojih je jedan bio dotad neosvojen.
Na ovoj izložbi biti će predstavljene zanimljive fotografije s ekspedicije splitskih alpinista koji su svojim znanjem i iskustvom otvorili put budućim alpinistima i njihovim uspjesima.
U sklopu izložbe održat će se okrugli stol na kojem će sudjelovati živi sudionici ekspedicije (15. lipnja, voditelj Jasen Boko), kao i projekcija filma koji je o ekspediciji snimio jedan od sudionika, Ivo Kaštelančić (19. lipnja).

U galeriji Prokulture na Peristilu, u ponedjeljak 12. lipnja u 20 sati biti će otvorena izložba fotografija s "Prve splitske alpinističke ekspedicije Spitsbergen ‘73" u organizaciji HPD Mosor.
Prije 50 godina, 9. lipnja 1973. iz toplog Splita na daleki hladni sjever krenula je prva splitska alpinistička ekspedicija, s ciljem otoka Spitsbergen, najvećeg i jedinog naseljenog otoka arhipelaga Svalbard u sjevernoj Norveškoj.
Bila je to prva organizirana ekspedicije HPD-a "Mosor", potaknuta od strane slovenskih alpinista koji su tamo organizirali ekspediciju 1964.godine, a planovi naših Mosoraša bili su prvenstveni alpinistički usponi u području Kongs fjorda.
Većina ranijih ekspedicija na Spitsbergen je bila znanstvenog karaktera pa je i većina stijena u alpinističkom smislu bila netaknuta jer su spomenute ekspedicije uglavnom za pristup na vrhove koristile najlakše puteve.
Ekspedicija je organizirana kao priprema za realizaciju buduće ekspedicije (Hindukuš) povodom nadolazeće proslave 100-te obljetnice planinarstva u Hrvatskoj i 50-te obljetnice HPD "Mosor".
Sudionici ekspedicije bili su članovi Alpinističkog odsjeka "Mosora": Nenad Čulić (vođa ekspedicije), Vinko Maroević -Mrva, Ivo Kaliterna – Kale, Ivo Kaštelančić – Kaštila, Boris Siriščević - Sira, Mario Ivanišević i Josip Ganza. Čulić je bio tada najbolji splitski alpinist svoje generacije, a sudjelovao je na prvoj hrvatskoj alpinističkoj ekspediciji na Grenlandu 1971. godine gdje je stekao iskustvo za organizaciju alpinističkih ekspedicija.

Bila je to uistinu posebna ekspedicija koja je krenula kombijem iz centra Splita odakle su Mosoraši, do norveškog Harstada prevalili put od 4325 km. U Harstadu su se ukrcali na brod "Store Nostada i njime se prebacili do rudarskog naselja Longyearbyen na Spitsbergenu i onda turističkim brodom do naselja Ny Alesund. Bazni logor su podigli 12 km od Ny Alesunda u dnu Kongs fjorda.
Unatoč veoma lošem vremenu koje je skoro čitavo vrijeme pratilo ekspediciju, postignut je zapažen uspjeh. Ispenjana su ukupno 44 smjera, od toga četiri prvenstvena u snijegu i ledu. Ovom uspjehu treba nadodati još i pet vrhova, od kojih je jedan bio dotad neosvojen.
Na ovoj izložbi biti će predstavljene zanimljive fotografije s ekspedicije splitskih alpinista koji su svojim znanjem i iskustvom otvorili put budućim alpinistima i njihovim uspjesima.
U sklopu izložbe održat će se okrugli stol na kojem će sudjelovati živi sudionici ekspedicije (15. lipnja, voditelj Jasen Boko), kao i projekcija filma koji je o ekspediciji snimio jedan od sudionika, Ivo Kaštelančić (19. lipnja).
