Usporedno s kinodistribucijom "Narednika Jamesa", 2009., u Afganistanu su se događali ratni zločini Amerikanaca nad tamošnjim narodom. Iduće godine, kad je film Kathryn Bigelow osvojio Oscara, petorica američkih vojnika su optuženi za ubojstvo afganistanskih civila.
Jedan od njih se izjasnio krivim i svjedočio protiv nadnarednika koji je smatrao da su ubojstva opravdana. Još jedna sramotna epizoda iz novije američke povijesti dokumentirana je 2013. u hvaljenom dokumentarcu "The Kill Team" bivšeg novinara Dana Kraussa.

Dokumentarac je uhvatio jedan od posljednjih vlakova za filmove s tematikom (posljedica) bliskoistočnih ratovanja.
Naime, Bigelowičin oskarovac je na neki način stavio točku na "i" reakcionarnih filmova o Iraku i Afganistanu koji su eksplodirali 2006. i 2007. s "Dolinom nestalih", "Razotkrivenim", "Povratkom na bojište", "Jaganjcima i lavovima", "Zemljom junaka", "Nestalim zarobljenikom"... A Eastwoodov "Snajperist" je 2014. uhvatio valjda posljednji vlak.
Nakon njega opala je i najmanja zanimacija za slična ostvarenja ("Hvala vam na službi", "Pod vatrom snajpera"...). Upravo zbog toga najnoviji film tog tipa, koji je netom stigao u "A1 Videoteku", prošao je ispod radara, iako je imao premijeru na Tribecca festivalu.
Jednostavno, "Tim za ubijanje" je kasno na (bojno) polje stigao da bi na tom polju odjeknuo snagom nagazne mine u oku gledatelja. Dramatizacija istinitih događaja prethodno već ovjekovječenih u istoimenom dokumentarcu istog redatelja, dakle "The Kill Team", tematski i strukturno odveć podsjeća na prijašnje (anti)ratne filmove, ne samo iračke/afganistanske tipa "Redacted" Briana De Palme, nego i – vijetnamske.
Konkretno, baš na De Palmine "Prokletnike rata", s time da uloge Michaela J. Foxa i Seana Penna na afganistanskom terenu preuzmaju Nat Wolff ("Gradovi na papiru") i Alexander Skarsgård ("Projekt Kolibrić"), Stellanov sin. S jedne strane, "Tim za ubijanje" time intrigantno zaokružuje začarani krug rata od Vijetnama do Bliskog istoka, od dokumentarca do igranog filma, te ocrtava nevidljivu granicu između zbilje i kinematografije.
U isti mah podsjećanje na "Casualties Of War" umanjuje impresije filma, posebice što Krauss nije De Palma, a ni Wolff i Skarsgård nisu na razini Foxa i Penna da bi na gledatelja u potpunosti iznijeli pozitivac-negativac/heroj-zločinac dihotomiju na kojoj se temelji drama.
U svom igranofilmskom prvijencu Krauss se nadovezuje na dokumentarac, odnosno ovjekovječuje akcije iz kojih su nastale posljedice istražene u njemu. Međutim, režijski je negdje na pola puta između (estetike) dokumentarca i filma, nigdje dovoljno čvrsto da zadovolji njihove norme i ostavi jači dojam, uslijed čega "The Kill Team" na momente ispada pomalo (ne)namjerno suhoparan, lišen sirovih i melodramskih emocija.
Wolff uspijeva uspostaviti vezu s gledateljem kao njegov supstitut, ali ne i prenijeti interne dvojbe lika, vojnika Andrewa Briggmana, premda se Krauss trudi zaviriti u njegov um. Skarsgård je tek skica punokrvnog negativca i nedostaje mu još jedna dimenzija da bude trodimenzionalan kao nadnarednik Deeks koji potiče i zataškava zločine svog voda.
Puno bolje od njih kotira Adam Long u ulozi regruta Rayburna i Krauss kao to prepoznaje pa preko njega prelama (ne)moralni kompas filma, ratničku filozofiju i vojničku filozofiju Deeksova tima, počevši od "ratovi se ne dobivaju vezivanjem ljudi". "Budite mi odani i svatko će imati priliku biti ratnik i dio povijesti, ne čitati je", govori Deeks, a netko naglas kaže kako "sve ostaje u obitelji".
Struktuiran kao priča o moralu jednog vojnika (Briggmana), "Tim za ubijanje" je istovremeno i priča o (američkoj) vojsci kao takvoj i "kulturi" ratovanja koja pozicionira zločine kao nešto što ide uz rat "nas" protiv "njih". Kraussu kao dokumentaristu puno bolje ide oslikavanje šire slike rata i razbijanje iluzije ratovanja od portreta "ratnika" krvavih ruku. "The Kill Team" je na koncu ispao "samo" solidan film, ali i dalje važan kao osuda rata, na Bliskom istoku i bilo gdje drugdje.

Usporedno s kinodistribucijom "Narednika Jamesa", 2009., u Afganistanu su se događali ratni zločini Amerikanaca nad tamošnjim narodom. Iduće godine, kad je film Kathryn Bigelow osvojio Oscara, petorica američkih vojnika su optuženi za ubojstvo afganistanskih civila.
Jedan od njih se izjasnio krivim i svjedočio protiv nadnarednika koji je smatrao da su ubojstva opravdana. Još jedna sramotna epizoda iz novije američke povijesti dokumentirana je 2013. u hvaljenom dokumentarcu "The Kill Team" bivšeg novinara Dana Kraussa.

Dokumentarac je uhvatio jedan od posljednjih vlakova za filmove s tematikom (posljedica) bliskoistočnih ratovanja.
Naime, Bigelowičin oskarovac je na neki način stavio točku na "i" reakcionarnih filmova o Iraku i Afganistanu koji su eksplodirali 2006. i 2007. s "Dolinom nestalih", "Razotkrivenim", "Povratkom na bojište", "Jaganjcima i lavovima", "Zemljom junaka", "Nestalim zarobljenikom"... A Eastwoodov "Snajperist" je 2014. uhvatio valjda posljednji vlak.
Nakon njega opala je i najmanja zanimacija za slična ostvarenja ("Hvala vam na službi", "Pod vatrom snajpera"...). Upravo zbog toga najnoviji film tog tipa, koji je netom stigao u "A1 Videoteku", prošao je ispod radara, iako je imao premijeru na Tribecca festivalu.
Jednostavno, "Tim za ubijanje" je kasno na (bojno) polje stigao da bi na tom polju odjeknuo snagom nagazne mine u oku gledatelja. Dramatizacija istinitih događaja prethodno već ovjekovječenih u istoimenom dokumentarcu istog redatelja, dakle "The Kill Team", tematski i strukturno odveć podsjeća na prijašnje (anti)ratne filmove, ne samo iračke/afganistanske tipa "Redacted" Briana De Palme, nego i – vijetnamske.
Konkretno, baš na De Palmine "Prokletnike rata", s time da uloge Michaela J. Foxa i Seana Penna na afganistanskom terenu preuzmaju Nat Wolff ("Gradovi na papiru") i Alexander Skarsgård ("Projekt Kolibrić"), Stellanov sin. S jedne strane, "Tim za ubijanje" time intrigantno zaokružuje začarani krug rata od Vijetnama do Bliskog istoka, od dokumentarca do igranog filma, te ocrtava nevidljivu granicu između zbilje i kinematografije.
U isti mah podsjećanje na "Casualties Of War" umanjuje impresije filma, posebice što Krauss nije De Palma, a ni Wolff i Skarsgård nisu na razini Foxa i Penna da bi na gledatelja u potpunosti iznijeli pozitivac-negativac/heroj-zločinac dihotomiju na kojoj se temelji drama.
U svom igranofilmskom prvijencu Krauss se nadovezuje na dokumentarac, odnosno ovjekovječuje akcije iz kojih su nastale posljedice istražene u njemu. Međutim, režijski je negdje na pola puta između (estetike) dokumentarca i filma, nigdje dovoljno čvrsto da zadovolji njihove norme i ostavi jači dojam, uslijed čega "The Kill Team" na momente ispada pomalo (ne)namjerno suhoparan, lišen sirovih i melodramskih emocija.
Wolff uspijeva uspostaviti vezu s gledateljem kao njegov supstitut, ali ne i prenijeti interne dvojbe lika, vojnika Andrewa Briggmana, premda se Krauss trudi zaviriti u njegov um. Skarsgård je tek skica punokrvnog negativca i nedostaje mu još jedna dimenzija da bude trodimenzionalan kao nadnarednik Deeks koji potiče i zataškava zločine svog voda.
Puno bolje od njih kotira Adam Long u ulozi regruta Rayburna i Krauss kao to prepoznaje pa preko njega prelama (ne)moralni kompas filma, ratničku filozofiju i vojničku filozofiju Deeksova tima, počevši od "ratovi se ne dobivaju vezivanjem ljudi". "Budite mi odani i svatko će imati priliku biti ratnik i dio povijesti, ne čitati je", govori Deeks, a netko naglas kaže kako "sve ostaje u obitelji".
Struktuiran kao priča o moralu jednog vojnika (Briggmana), "Tim za ubijanje" je istovremeno i priča o (američkoj) vojsci kao takvoj i "kulturi" ratovanja koja pozicionira zločine kao nešto što ide uz rat "nas" protiv "njih". Kraussu kao dokumentaristu puno bolje ide oslikavanje šire slike rata i razbijanje iluzije ratovanja od portreta "ratnika" krvavih ruku. "The Kill Team" je na koncu ispao "samo" solidan film, ali i dalje važan kao osuda rata, na Bliskom istoku i bilo gdje drugdje.
