"Pa... starija sam", priznaje Angelina Jolie u njezinom povratničkom akcijskom trileru "Oni koji mi žele smrt" ili "Those Who Wish Me Dead" režisera i koscenarista Taylora Sheridana. Priznanje se događa u trenutku kad šerif Ethan Sawyer (Joe Berethal) upozori nekadašnju pripadnicu vatrogasne "smoke jumper" ekipe i bivšu curu Hannah Faber (Jolie) da "ne skače s padobranom" s jurećeg kamiona.

"Ja sam starija sada", zaključuje Hannah, vatrogasna veteranka iz Montane degradirana na rad u promatračnici nakon što nije uspjela spasiti klince zarobljene u vatrenom obruču. "Oni koji mi žele smrt", ekranizacija istoimena romana Michaela Koryte, ima premijeru čitavu dekadu nakon posljednjeg Angelininog akcijskog trilera "Salt".

Odnosno, još ilustrativnije, netom prije proslave 20. godišnjice filma "Tomb Raidera" s kojim je Jolie, ulogom Lare Croft, postala najveća akcijska zvijezda 2000-ih. Zadnjih godina Lara Croft je postala Alicia Vikander, a Scarlett Johansson preuzela štafetu vodeće akcijske heroine, ali Angelina dokazuje da nije još za mirovinu, uz povremenu autoironiju na račun godina, karakterističnu za junake-povratnike tipa Schwarzenegger.

"Pamtim da je slijetanje bilo mekše", komentira Hannah nakon što se, kao "usijana glava", ogluši na šerifovo upozorenje i odleti padobranom s kamiona, iako ta njezina vještina, nažalost, neće biti akcijsko-scenski iskorištena kasnije, kad precizira da je "vitka, a ne žgoljava". Definitivno, Hannah nije Lara s obzirom da je "starija" i tužnija, s traumom iz prošlosti otisnutom na licu i duši poput velikog emotivnog ožiljka, zbog čega samuje i okajava u vatrogasnom tornju.

"Izgledaš žalosno", opaža Connor (odlični Finn Little; "Dječak oluje"), klinac u bijegu od plaćenih ubojica (Aiden Gillen, Nicholas Hoult) njegovog samohranog oca (Jake Weber), forenzičnog knjigovođe koji je otkrio nešto što nije smio, ali u "hitchcockovskoj" tradiciji "macguffina" ne otkrivamo o čemu je točno riječ.

Connoru će Hannah postati zaštitnica i zamjenska majka kad naleti na njega u divljini Montane, potaknuta iskupničkim porivima i majčinskim instinktom. Uloga je prilagođena današnjoj Jolie i u liku se iscrtavaju sve njezine zdravstvene, brakorazvodne i ine traume iz stvarnosti, kao i njezin nesalomljivi majčinski, akcijski duh.

Nije samo Hannah zrelija junakinja od Angelininih prijašnjih heroina, već i od junakinja u prethodnim izvanrednim filmovima koje je Sheridan napisao ("Sicario") ili režirao ("Tragovi u snijegu"). Jolie je imala sreće da njezin "comeback movie" potpisuje baš Sheridan, poznat i po za Oscara nominiranom scenariju izvrsnog filma "Sve ili ništa" te podcijenjene serije "Yellowstone".

Sheridan je postao najbritkije pero kvalitetnog žanrovskog filma 2010-ih kad ga je ogrnuo u neovesternsko ruho, tražeći i pronalazeći metafiziku pozicioniranjem priča o pozitivcima i negativcima u nedirnuta američka prostranstva mitskog Divljeg zapada.

Nakon granice Amerike i Meksika ("Sicario"), Teksasa ("Hell Or High Water") i Wyominga ("Wind River"), Montana je još jednom ("Yellowstone") efektno iskorištena kao pozadina priče i njezino prostranstvo daje filmu ekstra dimenziju, uz iznimno opipljive ljudske emocije i akcijsko-trilerske tenzije.

Sve to potencira arhetip priče o heroini traumatične prošlosti s jedinstvenim vještinama za preživljavanje da pruži otpor negativcima s vatrenim oružjem, dakle Angelina je otprilike kao planinar Stallone u "Cliffhangeru".

Majka priroda i surogat majka Angelina isprepleću se u "Those Who Wish Me Dead", a tu je i šerifova supruga Allison (Medina Senghore), voditeljica kampa za preživljavanje u divljini koja se trudna do zuba suprostavlja negativcima kao nijedna filmska trudnica dosad, na momente prijeteći da ukrade akcijski sjaj glavnoj zvijezdi filma.

Tako, Hannah se nađe na udaru munja u promatračnici i dolini u naelektriziranim scenama rijetkima za ovakav tip filma, a ubojice će napraviti sve da pronađu Connora kako bi s njim zakopali tajne njegova oca, pa i zapaliti šumu da odvuču pozornost i suoče junakinju s traumom.

Požar u završnici filma, vrlo uvjerljivo dočaran kombinacijom stvarne i računalno generirane plamene stihije, postaje jednaka pa i veća prijetnja od ubojica s kojima će se Jolie, naoružana sjekirom, brutalno i realistično sukobiti. Dobrano će se namučiti da ih sredi i iz duela izaći pretučena i krvava kao nikad prije, ali spremna da se ponovno okruni titulom akcijske heroine. Angelina, majka, kraljica.

Jolie živi vječno

Čini se da će se Angelina nanovo ustaliti pred kamerama i da je nećemo gledati svake prijestupne (od 2010. do 2020. glumila je u samo šest filmova). Krajem godine vratit će se i u ulozi Thene u Marvelovu megaspektaklu 'Eternals', u režiji novopečene oskarovke Chloe Zhao ("Nomadland").

"Pa... starija sam", priznaje Angelina Jolie u njezinom povratničkom akcijskom trileru "Oni koji mi žele smrt" ili "Those Who Wish Me Dead" režisera i koscenarista Taylora Sheridana. Priznanje se događa u trenutku kad šerif Ethan Sawyer (Joe Berethal) upozori nekadašnju pripadnicu vatrogasne "smoke jumper" ekipe i bivšu curu Hannah Faber (Jolie) da "ne skače s padobranom" s jurećeg kamiona.

"Ja sam starija sada", zaključuje Hannah, vatrogasna veteranka iz Montane degradirana na rad u promatračnici nakon što nije uspjela spasiti klince zarobljene u vatrenom obruču. "Oni koji mi žele smrt", ekranizacija istoimena romana Michaela Koryte, ima premijeru čitavu dekadu nakon posljednjeg Angelininog akcijskog trilera "Salt".

Odnosno, još ilustrativnije, netom prije proslave 20. godišnjice filma "Tomb Raidera" s kojim je Jolie, ulogom Lare Croft, postala najveća akcijska zvijezda 2000-ih. Zadnjih godina Lara Croft je postala Alicia Vikander, a Scarlett Johansson preuzela štafetu vodeće akcijske heroine, ali Angelina dokazuje da nije još za mirovinu, uz povremenu autoironiju na račun godina, karakterističnu za junake-povratnike tipa Schwarzenegger.

"Pamtim da je slijetanje bilo mekše", komentira Hannah nakon što se, kao "usijana glava", ogluši na šerifovo upozorenje i odleti padobranom s kamiona, iako ta njezina vještina, nažalost, neće biti akcijsko-scenski iskorištena kasnije, kad precizira da je "vitka, a ne žgoljava". Definitivno, Hannah nije Lara s obzirom da je "starija" i tužnija, s traumom iz prošlosti otisnutom na licu i duši poput velikog emotivnog ožiljka, zbog čega samuje i okajava u vatrogasnom tornju.

"Izgledaš žalosno", opaža Connor (odlični Finn Little; "Dječak oluje"), klinac u bijegu od plaćenih ubojica (Aiden Gillen, Nicholas Hoult) njegovog samohranog oca (Jake Weber), forenzičnog knjigovođe koji je otkrio nešto što nije smio, ali u "hitchcockovskoj" tradiciji "macguffina" ne otkrivamo o čemu je točno riječ.

Connoru će Hannah postati zaštitnica i zamjenska majka kad naleti na njega u divljini Montane, potaknuta iskupničkim porivima i majčinskim instinktom. Uloga je prilagođena današnjoj Jolie i u liku se iscrtavaju sve njezine zdravstvene, brakorazvodne i ine traume iz stvarnosti, kao i njezin nesalomljivi majčinski, akcijski duh.

Nije samo Hannah zrelija junakinja od Angelininih prijašnjih heroina, već i od junakinja u prethodnim izvanrednim filmovima koje je Sheridan napisao ("Sicario") ili režirao ("Tragovi u snijegu"). Jolie je imala sreće da njezin "comeback movie" potpisuje baš Sheridan, poznat i po za Oscara nominiranom scenariju izvrsnog filma "Sve ili ništa" te podcijenjene serije "Yellowstone".

Sheridan je postao najbritkije pero kvalitetnog žanrovskog filma 2010-ih kad ga je ogrnuo u neovesternsko ruho, tražeći i pronalazeći metafiziku pozicioniranjem priča o pozitivcima i negativcima u nedirnuta američka prostranstva mitskog Divljeg zapada.

Nakon granice Amerike i Meksika ("Sicario"), Teksasa ("Hell Or High Water") i Wyominga ("Wind River"), Montana je još jednom ("Yellowstone") efektno iskorištena kao pozadina priče i njezino prostranstvo daje filmu ekstra dimenziju, uz iznimno opipljive ljudske emocije i akcijsko-trilerske tenzije.

Sve to potencira arhetip priče o heroini traumatične prošlosti s jedinstvenim vještinama za preživljavanje da pruži otpor negativcima s vatrenim oružjem, dakle Angelina je otprilike kao planinar Stallone u "Cliffhangeru".

Majka priroda i surogat majka Angelina isprepleću se u "Those Who Wish Me Dead", a tu je i šerifova supruga Allison (Medina Senghore), voditeljica kampa za preživljavanje u divljini koja se trudna do zuba suprostavlja negativcima kao nijedna filmska trudnica dosad, na momente prijeteći da ukrade akcijski sjaj glavnoj zvijezdi filma.

Tako, Hannah se nađe na udaru munja u promatračnici i dolini u naelektriziranim scenama rijetkima za ovakav tip filma, a ubojice će napraviti sve da pronađu Connora kako bi s njim zakopali tajne njegova oca, pa i zapaliti šumu da odvuču pozornost i suoče junakinju s traumom.

Požar u završnici filma, vrlo uvjerljivo dočaran kombinacijom stvarne i računalno generirane plamene stihije, postaje jednaka pa i veća prijetnja od ubojica s kojima će se Jolie, naoružana sjekirom, brutalno i realistično sukobiti. Dobrano će se namučiti da ih sredi i iz duela izaći pretučena i krvava kao nikad prije, ali spremna da se ponovno okruni titulom akcijske heroine. Angelina, majka, kraljica.

Jolie živi vječno

Čini se da će se Angelina nanovo ustaliti pred kamerama i da je nećemo gledati svake prijestupne (od 2010. do 2020. glumila je u samo šest filmova). Krajem godine vratit će se i u ulozi Thene u Marvelovu megaspektaklu 'Eternals', u režiji novopečene oskarovke Chloe Zhao ("Nomadland").
