Dvjesto zubi, nula šansi. Zvučna krilatica filma "Morski pas ljudožder" ("Maneater") sugerira potencijalno dobar "shark movie", ali, nažalost, ništa od toga. "Morski pas ljudožder" je loš. Jedan od najlošijih filmova o ubojitim morskim psima. Lošiji je i od "Strave iz dubina".

Potpisniku ovih redaka dođe da poveća ocjene za "Shark Bait" i "Great White Shark" i pozitivnije intonira njihove recenzije. Nedavni "Mamac" i onaj prije njega su "Ralje" i "Opasnost iz dubina" prema ovom filmu, a "Velika bijela psina", pak, "Duboko modro more" i "Pakao pod morem".

I "Deep Blue Sea 3" je bolji od "Maneatera", "Shark Night" i "47 Meters Down 2" također. O "Megu" da ne govorimo.

Ovo će zazvučati kao kad se klinjo iz "Kindergarten Cop" pokušavao sjetiti ima li tko gori od njegova novog odgojitelja iz vrtića, ali doista je teško prisjetiti se slabijeg "shark" filma u novije vrijeme, ako ne i svih vremena.

Neki od ovakvih filmova, čak i kad su slabiji, pokušavaju stvoriti nekakvu anticipaciju od podvodnog predatora i skrivati ga zbog produkcijske oskudice, budeći hororsku maštu gledatelja. Ne i od "Morsko pas ljudožder". Ronilac će stradati odmah u prvoj sceni, i to na način da se doslovce nađe u raljama morskog psa koji će ga progutati.

Dakle, redatelj Justin Lee ne ostavlja ama baš ništa na imaginaciji publike i otkriva morskog psa koji je produkt demodiranih računalnih efekata, tu i tamo natkrivenih crvenom bojom krvi, također kompjutorski generirane. Slično je režiran i napad na surfersku kćer glavnog muškog lika Harlana (Trace Adkins), bez "suspensea" kao u slučaju napada velike bijele psine na klinca na žutom štramcu u "Jaws".

Harlan se pretvara u lik nalik Quintu iz "Ralja", pod uvjetom da je Quint pucao sačmaricom na morskog psa, bijesan zbog smrti kćeri. "Moju kćer pojela je jebena riba", grmi Harlan. Međutim, Lee se čak i više ugledao na "Jaws IV", najslabiji izdanak "Ralja", ali svejedno bolji od ovog filma.

Naime, morski pas ne napada tek tako, nego "ubija iz zabave", što je jasno po tome da "ostavlja hranu/ljude u komadima" umjesto da je/ih jede, kako u razgovoru s Harlanom procjenjuje profesor Hoffman (veteran "B" filmova Jeff Fahey). "Kad morski pas kuša nešto što mu se sviđa, on to ne ostavlja. Pitanje je vremena kad će naći iduće jelo", proročanski kaže Harlan.

Iduće jelo nalazi u ekipi nesuđene mladenke Jessie (Nicky Whelan; "Pušteni s lanca"), koju je zaručnik ostavio i ona, na nagovor prijatelja, pretvara medeni mjesec u odmor s njima kad ga je već platila njezina frendica Sunny (Porscha Coleman). "Imamo cijeli tjedan zabave, sunce, ronjenje cuga..."

Jessie, Sunny, Will (Shane West; "Polje straha") i ostatak nepamtljive ekipe isplovljavaju sa skiperom Wallyjem (Ed Morrone) prema rajskom otočiću, gdje će ih dočekati pakao kad se morski pas nameči na njih. To se događa vrlo brzo, jer Leeju nije do bildanja očekivanja, niti profiliranja likova svedenih na komad mesa.

Likovi se ponašaju očekivano glupo: tip s krvavim zavojem na ruci oglušuje se o sugestiju da ostane izvan mora. No, takve su stvari sastavni dio sličnih filmova.  Krupniji je problem taj da "Maneater" djeluje kao da je većinski snimljen na kopnu, u studiju, ispred zelenog ekrana ili eventualno nekoliko metara od obale.

More nije fizički opipljivo, kao ni morski pas; njegova leđna peraja izgleda kao periskop podmornice u jednoj od "man vs. maneater" scena između psine i Harlana koji je spreman za još jedan okršaj. "Trebat ćemo veći brod", kaže Harlan, citirajući "Ralje", kad čuje da je "ta riba" sredila plovilo. Trebat ćemo i bolji film.

Nastavak ‘Grebena‘

Ovoga ljeta premijeru je imao i "The Reef: Stalked", nastavak vrlo solidnog "Grebena" iz 2010., ali taj film o morskom psu nije doplivao do hrvatskih kina, iako se čini bolji od "Maneatera".

Dvjesto zubi, nula šansi. Zvučna krilatica filma "Morski pas ljudožder" ("Maneater") sugerira potencijalno dobar "shark movie", ali, nažalost, ništa od toga. "Morski pas ljudožder" je loš. Jedan od najlošijih filmova o ubojitim morskim psima. Lošiji je i od "Strave iz dubina".

Potpisniku ovih redaka dođe da poveća ocjene za "Shark Bait" i "Great White Shark" i pozitivnije intonira njihove recenzije. Nedavni "Mamac" i onaj prije njega su "Ralje" i "Opasnost iz dubina" prema ovom filmu, a "Velika bijela psina", pak, "Duboko modro more" i "Pakao pod morem".

I "Deep Blue Sea 3" je bolji od "Maneatera", "Shark Night" i "47 Meters Down 2" također. O "Megu" da ne govorimo.

Ovo će zazvučati kao kad se klinjo iz "Kindergarten Cop" pokušavao sjetiti ima li tko gori od njegova novog odgojitelja iz vrtića, ali doista je teško prisjetiti se slabijeg "shark" filma u novije vrijeme, ako ne i svih vremena.

Neki od ovakvih filmova, čak i kad su slabiji, pokušavaju stvoriti nekakvu anticipaciju od podvodnog predatora i skrivati ga zbog produkcijske oskudice, budeći hororsku maštu gledatelja. Ne i od "Morsko pas ljudožder". Ronilac će stradati odmah u prvoj sceni, i to na način da se doslovce nađe u raljama morskog psa koji će ga progutati.

Dakle, redatelj Justin Lee ne ostavlja ama baš ništa na imaginaciji publike i otkriva morskog psa koji je produkt demodiranih računalnih efekata, tu i tamo natkrivenih crvenom bojom krvi, također kompjutorski generirane. Slično je režiran i napad na surfersku kćer glavnog muškog lika Harlana (Trace Adkins), bez "suspensea" kao u slučaju napada velike bijele psine na klinca na žutom štramcu u "Jaws".

Harlan se pretvara u lik nalik Quintu iz "Ralja", pod uvjetom da je Quint pucao sačmaricom na morskog psa, bijesan zbog smrti kćeri. "Moju kćer pojela je jebena riba", grmi Harlan. Međutim, Lee se čak i više ugledao na "Jaws IV", najslabiji izdanak "Ralja", ali svejedno bolji od ovog filma.

Naime, morski pas ne napada tek tako, nego "ubija iz zabave", što je jasno po tome da "ostavlja hranu/ljude u komadima" umjesto da je/ih jede, kako u razgovoru s Harlanom procjenjuje profesor Hoffman (veteran "B" filmova Jeff Fahey). "Kad morski pas kuša nešto što mu se sviđa, on to ne ostavlja. Pitanje je vremena kad će naći iduće jelo", proročanski kaže Harlan.

Iduće jelo nalazi u ekipi nesuđene mladenke Jessie (Nicky Whelan; "Pušteni s lanca"), koju je zaručnik ostavio i ona, na nagovor prijatelja, pretvara medeni mjesec u odmor s njima kad ga je već platila njezina frendica Sunny (Porscha Coleman). "Imamo cijeli tjedan zabave, sunce, ronjenje cuga..."

Jessie, Sunny, Will (Shane West; "Polje straha") i ostatak nepamtljive ekipe isplovljavaju sa skiperom Wallyjem (Ed Morrone) prema rajskom otočiću, gdje će ih dočekati pakao kad se morski pas nameči na njih. To se događa vrlo brzo, jer Leeju nije do bildanja očekivanja, niti profiliranja likova svedenih na komad mesa.

Likovi se ponašaju očekivano glupo: tip s krvavim zavojem na ruci oglušuje se o sugestiju da ostane izvan mora. No, takve su stvari sastavni dio sličnih filmova.  Krupniji je problem taj da "Maneater" djeluje kao da je većinski snimljen na kopnu, u studiju, ispred zelenog ekrana ili eventualno nekoliko metara od obale.

More nije fizički opipljivo, kao ni morski pas; njegova leđna peraja izgleda kao periskop podmornice u jednoj od "man vs. maneater" scena između psine i Harlana koji je spreman za još jedan okršaj. "Trebat ćemo veći brod", kaže Harlan, citirajući "Ralje", kad čuje da je "ta riba" sredila plovilo. Trebat ćemo i bolji film.

Nastavak ‘Grebena‘

Ovoga ljeta premijeru je imao i "The Reef: Stalked", nastavak vrlo solidnog "Grebena" iz 2010., ali taj film o morskom psu nije doplivao do hrvatskih kina, iako se čini bolji od "Maneatera".
