"Bježi", "Mi", "Antebellum", "Oni", "Njegova kuća"... Ako vam naslovi ovih hororskih trilera zvuče poznato, onda znate na čemu ste. Otkako je "Get Out" dobio par nominacija za Oscara i osvojio zlatni kipić za najbolji originalni scenarij, rasno orijentirani horor trileri postali su novi trend u žanru strave i užasa.

Nekima od njih je društveno-politički komentar bio važniji od horora kao takvog. Time su se nadovezali na trend "elevated horrora", samo što su tu žanrovsku "uzišenost" potencirali društvenim angažmanom vezanim za boju kože likova.

Britanski film "Lutalice" ("The Strays"), novitet na Netflixu, nastavlja "social horror" trend i preuzima štafetu od "Get Out" i gorespomenutih naslova poput "Us" i "Them" (zvuči u stilu Rogera Watersa). Dugometražni redateljsko-scenaristički prvijenac britanskog glumca Nathaniela Martello-Whitea pokazuje određeni potencijal, ali ne može pobjeći sjeni nerijetko boljih prethodnika i stvoriti neku vlastitu, a moguće je i da pada kao kolateralna žrtva laganog zasićenja ovakvom vrstom filmova.

Početak intrigira vrteći se oko crnkinje svjetlije puti u Londonu sredinom 2000-ih, Cheryl (solidna Ashley Madekwe), koja je, čini se, u financijskim i inim problemima. Cheryl razgovara sa sestrom, a onda netko nju opetovano naziva da bi potom otišla iz stana. Gledatelj ne zna kamo Chery ide, niti tko ju je zvao. To zna samo ona.

Godinama kasnije, Cheryl je sada Neve, zamjenica ravnatelja u školi u mahom "bijelom" engleskom predgrađu. Udala se za bijelca Iana (Justin Salinger) i rodila sina Sebastiana i kći Mary (Samuel Small, Maria Almeida). Ona se prilagodila "bijelom" životu i skriva svoju prirodnu crnačku kosu raznim vlasuljama, očekujući da i njezina kći radi isto.

"Mi smo crnci", podsjeća je sin. Pojava dvoje mlađih crnaca u predgrađu dovodi do pucanja Neveine savršene porculanske površine i (obiteljski) život joj se polako počinje raspadati. Mladog crnog muškarca opazi u retrovizoru, a tamnoputu djevojku uz cestu.

Je li joj se ti ljudi samo pričinjaju ili zapravo postoje? Naznake nadnaravnog horora opstoje u "Lutalicama", ali film se ubrzo ambijentira u žanru trilera, kad upoznamo dvoje mlađih ljudi, Marvina i Abigail (Jorden Myrie, Bukky Bakray), te proteklih nekoliko dana sagledamo iz njihove perspektive.

Tko su oni, ne bi bilo pošteno otkriti, ali može se zapisati da Marvin i Abigail znaju Neve kao Cheryl i da se planiraju "ubaciti" u njezinu familiju kroz upoznavanje i druženje s njezinim sinom i kćerkom. Neke potencijalno zanimljive situacije u vezi rase i klase bivaju narušene kopiranjem scena iz "Bježi".

Posljednji čin pretvara "The Strays" u načelno već viđeni "home invasion thriller", tek povremeno zategnutih tenzija podrazumijevane trilerske napetosti i osjećaja nelagode kad se Cherylina prošlost neizbježno sudari s Neveinom sadašnjosti i kulminira u nasilju. "Ja nisam ona", tvrdi Neve u filmu koji se ne dobacuje iznad "social horror" prosjeka, ali znade zaiskriti ponekim dojmljivim detaljem i iznenaditi nečekivanim i upečatljivim završetkom. Kraj "Lutalica" je bolji od cijeloga filma.

Ashley Madekwe se pojavila i u Netflixovoj seriji "The Umbrella Academy" gdje je igrala lik detektivke Eudore Patch.

"Bježi", "Mi", "Antebellum", "Oni", "Njegova kuća"... Ako vam naslovi ovih hororskih trilera zvuče poznato, onda znate na čemu ste. Otkako je "Get Out" dobio par nominacija za Oscara i osvojio zlatni kipić za najbolji originalni scenarij, rasno orijentirani horor trileri postali su novi trend u žanru strave i užasa.

Nekima od njih je društveno-politički komentar bio važniji od horora kao takvog. Time su se nadovezali na trend "elevated horrora", samo što su tu žanrovsku "uzišenost" potencirali društvenim angažmanom vezanim za boju kože likova.

Britanski film "Lutalice" ("The Strays"), novitet na Netflixu, nastavlja "social horror" trend i preuzima štafetu od "Get Out" i gorespomenutih naslova poput "Us" i "Them" (zvuči u stilu Rogera Watersa). Dugometražni redateljsko-scenaristički prvijenac britanskog glumca Nathaniela Martello-Whitea pokazuje određeni potencijal, ali ne može pobjeći sjeni nerijetko boljih prethodnika i stvoriti neku vlastitu, a moguće je i da pada kao kolateralna žrtva laganog zasićenja ovakvom vrstom filmova.

Početak intrigira vrteći se oko crnkinje svjetlije puti u Londonu sredinom 2000-ih, Cheryl (solidna Ashley Madekwe), koja je, čini se, u financijskim i inim problemima. Cheryl razgovara sa sestrom, a onda netko nju opetovano naziva da bi potom otišla iz stana. Gledatelj ne zna kamo Chery ide, niti tko ju je zvao. To zna samo ona.

Godinama kasnije, Cheryl je sada Neve, zamjenica ravnatelja u školi u mahom "bijelom" engleskom predgrađu. Udala se za bijelca Iana (Justin Salinger) i rodila sina Sebastiana i kći Mary (Samuel Small, Maria Almeida). Ona se prilagodila "bijelom" životu i skriva svoju prirodnu crnačku kosu raznim vlasuljama, očekujući da i njezina kći radi isto.

"Mi smo crnci", podsjeća je sin. Pojava dvoje mlađih crnaca u predgrađu dovodi do pucanja Neveine savršene porculanske površine i (obiteljski) život joj se polako počinje raspadati. Mladog crnog muškarca opazi u retrovizoru, a tamnoputu djevojku uz cestu.

Je li joj se ti ljudi samo pričinjaju ili zapravo postoje? Naznake nadnaravnog horora opstoje u "Lutalicama", ali film se ubrzo ambijentira u žanru trilera, kad upoznamo dvoje mlađih ljudi, Marvina i Abigail (Jorden Myrie, Bukky Bakray), te proteklih nekoliko dana sagledamo iz njihove perspektive.

Tko su oni, ne bi bilo pošteno otkriti, ali može se zapisati da Marvin i Abigail znaju Neve kao Cheryl i da se planiraju "ubaciti" u njezinu familiju kroz upoznavanje i druženje s njezinim sinom i kćerkom. Neke potencijalno zanimljive situacije u vezi rase i klase bivaju narušene kopiranjem scena iz "Bježi".

Posljednji čin pretvara "The Strays" u načelno već viđeni "home invasion thriller", tek povremeno zategnutih tenzija podrazumijevane trilerske napetosti i osjećaja nelagode kad se Cherylina prošlost neizbježno sudari s Neveinom sadašnjosti i kulminira u nasilju. "Ja nisam ona", tvrdi Neve u filmu koji se ne dobacuje iznad "social horror" prosjeka, ali znade zaiskriti ponekim dojmljivim detaljem i iznenaditi nečekivanim i upečatljivim završetkom. Kraj "Lutalica" je bolji od cijeloga filma.
