U noći sa 22. na 23. veljače 2021., točno u ponoć i 23 sekunde po lokalnom vremenu kamere Hrvatske meteorske mreže (Global Meteor Network) snimile su vrlo sjajan meteor, bolid nešto slabijeg sjaja od Mjeseca u fazi prve četvrti.

Analizom snimaka pokazalo se da je na područje Dalmacije pao meteorit. Prema prvim rezultatima koordinator meteorske mreže Damir Šegon je izvijestio da su snimke sa četiri kamere (Zadar, Čiovo, Zvjedano selo Mosor i Humac - Općina Jelsa na otoku Hvaru) omogućile izračun putanje, iz kojeg je proizišlo da je tijelo veličine otprilike rukometne lopte u atmosferu Zemlje ušlo brzinom od oko 19,7 kilometara u sekundi te svoj sjajni put započelo na visini od 84 kilometra.

Nakon nešto više od 4 sekunde preleta, meteoroid se ugasio pri brzini nešto manjoj od 3 kilometra u sekundi na visini od 26 kilometara, pri čemu rezultat dinamike u zadnjoj točki svijetlog leta upućuje na to da je dio meteoroida preživio svijetli let. Preživjela masa procijenjena je na oko 25 grama, što uz tipičnu gustoću od 3300 kilograma po metru kubičnom daje tijelo koje odgovara kugli promjera oko 25 milimetara (nešto poput veličine loptice za stolni tenis ili golf). Orbita tijela ukazuje na to da je tijelo porijeklom iz asteroidnog pojasa.

Nebeska tijela meteoroidi koja prilikom sraza s atmosferom Zemlje vidimo kao svjetlosnu pojavu meteore ukoliko su dovoljno velike mase da ne izgore u potpunosti padnu na površinu Zemlje i tada ih nazivamo meteoritima. Na Zemlju iz svemira svakodnevno padne više od 40 tona materijala iz svemira koji najčešće u potpunosti izgori u našoj atmosferi, a povremeno se dogodi da neki veći komad preživi i stigne do površine Zemlje kao što je to sada slučaj.

Meteorit je pao u Dalmaciju na šire područje grada Šibenika, a preciznije podatke o mjestu pada za sada nećemo iznositi u javnosti kako ne bi prouzročili „meteorsku groznicu“ i kako bi eventualni nalaz zaštitili za potrebe znanosti. U potragu za meteoritom će uskoro krenuti organizirana skupina članova naših astronomskih društava, najavljuju iz Hrvatskog astronomskog saveza.

U noći sa 22. na 23. veljače 2021., točno u ponoć i 23 sekunde po lokalnom vremenu kamere Hrvatske meteorske mreže (Global Meteor Network) snimile su vrlo sjajan meteor, bolid nešto slabijeg sjaja od Mjeseca u fazi prve četvrti.

Analizom snimaka pokazalo se da je na područje Dalmacije pao meteorit. Prema prvim rezultatima koordinator meteorske mreže Damir Šegon je izvijestio da su snimke sa četiri kamere (Zadar, Čiovo, Zvjedano selo Mosor i Humac - Općina Jelsa na otoku Hvaru) omogućile izračun putanje, iz kojeg je proizišlo da je tijelo veličine otprilike rukometne lopte u atmosferu Zemlje ušlo brzinom od oko 19,7 kilometara u sekundi te svoj sjajni put započelo na visini od 84 kilometra.

Nakon nešto više od 4 sekunde preleta, meteoroid se ugasio pri brzini nešto manjoj od 3 kilometra u sekundi na visini od 26 kilometara, pri čemu rezultat dinamike u zadnjoj točki svijetlog leta upućuje na to da je dio meteoroida preživio svijetli let. Preživjela masa procijenjena je na oko 25 grama, što uz tipičnu gustoću od 3300 kilograma po metru kubičnom daje tijelo koje odgovara kugli promjera oko 25 milimetara (nešto poput veličine loptice za stolni tenis ili golf). Orbita tijela ukazuje na to da je tijelo porijeklom iz asteroidnog pojasa.

Nebeska tijela meteoroidi koja prilikom sraza s atmosferom Zemlje vidimo kao svjetlosnu pojavu meteore ukoliko su dovoljno velike mase da ne izgore u potpunosti padnu na površinu Zemlje i tada ih nazivamo meteoritima. Na Zemlju iz svemira svakodnevno padne više od 40 tona materijala iz svemira koji najčešće u potpunosti izgori u našoj atmosferi, a povremeno se dogodi da neki veći komad preživi i stigne do površine Zemlje kao što je to sada slučaj.

Meteorit je pao u Dalmaciju na šire područje grada Šibenika, a preciznije podatke o mjestu pada za sada nećemo iznositi u javnosti kako ne bi prouzročili „meteorsku groznicu“ i kako bi eventualni nalaz zaštitili za potrebe znanosti. U potragu za meteoritom će uskoro krenuti organizirana skupina članova naših astronomskih društava, najavljuju iz Hrvatskog astronomskog saveza.

U noći sa 22. na 23. veljače 2021., točno u ponoć i 23 sekunde po lokalnom vremenu kamere Hrvatske meteorske mreže (Global Meteor Network) snimile su vrlo sjajan meteor, bolid nešto slabijeg sjaja od Mjeseca u fazi prve četvrti.

Analizom snimaka pokazalo se da je na područje Dalmacije pao meteorit. Prema prvim rezultatima koordinator meteorske mreže Damir Šegon je izvijestio da su snimke sa četiri kamere (Zadar, Čiovo, Zvjedano selo Mosor i Humac - Općina Jelsa na otoku Hvaru) omogućile izračun putanje, iz kojeg je proizišlo da je tijelo veličine otprilike rukometne lopte u atmosferu Zemlje ušlo brzinom od oko 19,7 kilometara u sekundi te svoj sjajni put započelo na visini od 84 kilometra.

Nakon nešto više od 4 sekunde preleta, meteoroid se ugasio pri brzini nešto manjoj od 3 kilometra u sekundi na visini od 26 kilometara, pri čemu rezultat dinamike u zadnjoj točki svijetlog leta upućuje na to da je dio meteoroida preživio svijetli let. Preživjela masa procijenjena je na oko 25 grama, što uz tipičnu gustoću od 3300 kilograma po metru kubičnom daje tijelo koje odgovara kugli promjera oko 25 milimetara (nešto poput veličine loptice za stolni tenis ili golf). Orbita tijela ukazuje na to da je tijelo porijeklom iz asteroidnog pojasa.

Nebeska tijela meteoroidi koja prilikom sraza s atmosferom Zemlje vidimo kao svjetlosnu pojavu meteore ukoliko su dovoljno velike mase da ne izgore u potpunosti padnu na površinu Zemlje i tada ih nazivamo meteoritima. Na Zemlju iz svemira svakodnevno padne više od 40 tona materijala iz svemira koji najčešće u potpunosti izgori u našoj atmosferi, a povremeno se dogodi da neki veći komad preživi i stigne do površine Zemlje kao što je to sada slučaj.

Meteorit je pao u Dalmaciju na šire područje grada Šibenika, a preciznije podatke o mjestu pada za sada nećemo iznositi u javnosti kako ne bi prouzročili „meteorsku groznicu“ i kako bi eventualni nalaz zaštitili za potrebe znanosti. U potragu za meteoritom će uskoro krenuti organizirana skupina članova naših astronomskih društava, najavljuju iz Hrvatskog astronomskog saveza.
