Zapadna Europa i dalje se nalazi pod toplinskim udarom koji pomalo skreće prema sjeveru, piše BBC.
U Francuskoj i Velikoj Britaniji izdana su upozorenja na ekstremne vrućine, a sjever Španjolske u ponedjeljak bilježi temperaturu od suludih 43 stupnjeva Celzijevih.
Šumski požari u Francuskoj, Portugalu, Španjolskoj i Grčkoj prisilili su tisuće ljudi da evakuiraju svoje domove.
Britanci čekaju dan iz pakla, najtopliji dan otkad vrše mjerenja, a stručnjaci upozoravaju da dijelove Francuske čeka toplinska apokalipsa.
Francuski nacionalni meteorološki ured zabilježio je čak 42 stupnjeva u Nantesu, gdje se medijan visoke temperature inače u ovo doba kreće oko 22 Celzijeva stupnja.
Požari su posljednjih dana natjerali više od 30.000 ljudi na bijeg, a za evakuirane su postavljena hitna skloništa. Gironde, popularna turistička regija na jugozapadu zemlje, posebno je teško pogođena, a vatrogasci se bore kontrolirati požare koji su od prošlog utorka uništili gotovo 17.000 hektara zemlje.
"To je čudovište, to je usporedba koja mi pada na pamet, ti požari su čudovište!", rekao je Jean-Luc Gleyze, predsjednik regije Gironde o požarima. "Ono je poput hobotnice, raste naprijed, raste straga i s obje strane - što zbog temperature, što zbog vjetra, što zbog nedostatka vode u zraku... to je čudovište i vrlo je teško boriti se protiv njega."
Predviđa se da će temperature, koje su se u ponedjeljak kretale oko 40 stupnjeva, lagano padati od utorka - ali to možda neće donijeti trenutačno olakšanje, sve dok potraju suhi uvjeti i promjenjivi vjetrovi, izvještavaju BBC-ijevi meteorolozi iz regije Gironde.
Britanija je u ponedjeljak imala jedan od najtoplijih dana u svojoj povijesti, s najvišom temperaturom zabilježenom u Suffolku, u istočnoj Engleskoj (38 stupnjeva). Prognostičari donose posebna upozorenja za utorak kada bi temperature mogle doseći i 40 stupnjeva.
U međuvremenu, otkazuju se vlakovi i letovi. Na londonskom aerodromu Luton dio piste se savio zbog velike vrućine.
Nadalje, i Nizozemci bilježe svoj najtopliji dan u godini dosad. U jugozapadnom gradu Westdorpeu temperature su dosegle 33,6 Celzijeva. Očekuje se da će u utorak biti toplije, s prognoziranim temperaturama do 39 stupnjeva u južnim i središnjim regijama Nizozemske. Meteorolozi upozoravaju da toplinski val ide prema sjeveru, au Belgiji i Njemačkoj se očekuju temperature oko 40 stupnjeva u narednim danima.
Portugal je u četvrtak s 47 stupnjeva dosegnuo rekord za srpanj. Nacionalni meteorološki ured proglasio je veliku opasnost od požara u većem dijelu zemlje.
Lokalni mediji javljaju da je 300 ljudi iz sjeverne općine Murça evakuirano zbog opasnosti od požara - vlasti su zabrinute da se ne ponovi 2017., kada je 66 ljudi poginulo u šumskim požarima.
U Španjolskoj najmanje 20 požara gori bez kontrole. Jedan je putnik snimio zastrašujući trenutak u kojem se vlak zaustavlja dok požari bjesne s obje strane vagona.
Klimatski stručnjaci ističu da je ovo direktna posljedica čovjekova djelovanja. Svijet se već zagrijao za oko 1,1 stupanj od početka industrijske ere i temperature će nastaviti rasti osim ako vlade diljem svijeta ne uvedu oštre rezove u emisijama.

Zapadna Europa i dalje se nalazi pod toplinskim udarom koji pomalo skreće prema sjeveru, piše BBC.
U Francuskoj i Velikoj Britaniji izdana su upozorenja na ekstremne vrućine, a sjever Španjolske u ponedjeljak bilježi temperaturu od suludih 43 stupnjeva Celzijevih.
Šumski požari u Francuskoj, Portugalu, Španjolskoj i Grčkoj prisilili su tisuće ljudi da evakuiraju svoje domove.
Britanci čekaju dan iz pakla, najtopliji dan otkad vrše mjerenja, a stručnjaci upozoravaju da dijelove Francuske čeka toplinska apokalipsa.
Francuski nacionalni meteorološki ured zabilježio je čak 42 stupnjeva u Nantesu, gdje se medijan visoke temperature inače u ovo doba kreće oko 22 Celzijeva stupnja.
Požari su posljednjih dana natjerali više od 30.000 ljudi na bijeg, a za evakuirane su postavljena hitna skloništa. Gironde, popularna turistička regija na jugozapadu zemlje, posebno je teško pogođena, a vatrogasci se bore kontrolirati požare koji su od prošlog utorka uništili gotovo 17.000 hektara zemlje.
"To je čudovište, to je usporedba koja mi pada na pamet, ti požari su čudovište!", rekao je Jean-Luc Gleyze, predsjednik regije Gironde o požarima. "Ono je poput hobotnice, raste naprijed, raste straga i s obje strane - što zbog temperature, što zbog vjetra, što zbog nedostatka vode u zraku... to je čudovište i vrlo je teško boriti se protiv njega."
Predviđa se da će temperature, koje su se u ponedjeljak kretale oko 40 stupnjeva, lagano padati od utorka - ali to možda neće donijeti trenutačno olakšanje, sve dok potraju suhi uvjeti i promjenjivi vjetrovi, izvještavaju BBC-ijevi meteorolozi iz regije Gironde.
Britanija je u ponedjeljak imala jedan od najtoplijih dana u svojoj povijesti, s najvišom temperaturom zabilježenom u Suffolku, u istočnoj Engleskoj (38 stupnjeva). Prognostičari donose posebna upozorenja za utorak kada bi temperature mogle doseći i 40 stupnjeva.
U međuvremenu, otkazuju se vlakovi i letovi. Na londonskom aerodromu Luton dio piste se savio zbog velike vrućine.
Nadalje, i Nizozemci bilježe svoj najtopliji dan u godini dosad. U jugozapadnom gradu Westdorpeu temperature su dosegle 33,6 Celzijeva. Očekuje se da će u utorak biti toplije, s prognoziranim temperaturama do 39 stupnjeva u južnim i središnjim regijama Nizozemske. Meteorolozi upozoravaju da toplinski val ide prema sjeveru, au Belgiji i Njemačkoj se očekuju temperature oko 40 stupnjeva u narednim danima.
Portugal je u četvrtak s 47 stupnjeva dosegnuo rekord za srpanj. Nacionalni meteorološki ured proglasio je veliku opasnost od požara u većem dijelu zemlje.
Lokalni mediji javljaju da je 300 ljudi iz sjeverne općine Murça evakuirano zbog opasnosti od požara - vlasti su zabrinute da se ne ponovi 2017., kada je 66 ljudi poginulo u šumskim požarima.
U Španjolskoj najmanje 20 požara gori bez kontrole. Jedan je putnik snimio zastrašujući trenutak u kojem se vlak zaustavlja dok požari bjesne s obje strane vagona.
Klimatski stručnjaci ističu da je ovo direktna posljedica čovjekova djelovanja. Svijet se već zagrijao za oko 1,1 stupanj od početka industrijske ere i temperature će nastaviti rasti osim ako vlade diljem svijeta ne uvedu oštre rezove u emisijama.
