 Povodom Svjetskog dana bez mesa, tzv. Meatouta, koji se diljem svijeta obilježava 20. ožujka, udruga Prijatelji životinja skreće pozornost na lako primjenjivo rješenje koje može znatno pomoći u sprječavanju krize oko dostupnosti hrane koja je aktualizirana i ratom na istoku Europe i ruskom invazijom na Ukrajinu.

Prijetelji životinja podsjećaju kako se najveći dio žitarica ne uzgaja za prehranu ljudi, već životinja. Početak rješavanja problema s nestašicom hrane jest znatno smanjenje jedenja mesa, mlijeka i jaja, odnosno povećanje konzumacije biljne hrane. Naime, tone žitarica i mahunarki nepovratno odlaze na tov životinja. Za proizvodnju jedne kilokalorije govedine ili janjetine potrebno je čak 100 puta više zemlje u odnosu na proizvodnju žitarica. Također, potrebno je gotovo 100 puta više zemlje da bi se proizveo gram bjelančevina iz govedine ili janjetine, u odnosu na gram bjelančevina iz graška.

Uzgoj životinja radi jedenja mesa nevjerojatno je rastrošan način proizvodnje hrane, smatraju Prijatelji životinja:

 „Za kilogram mesa potroši se 15 000 litara vode, a za kilogram žitarica 100 litara vode. Kada bi se goleme površine na kojima se uzgajaju usjevi za prehranu životinja prenamijenile za prehranu ljudi, dobili bismo obilje hrane kojim bi se mogao početi rješavati problem krize s hranom. Osim toga, meso je i najmanje ekonomična hrana: cijena jednog kilograma mesnih bjelančevina veća je dvadeset puta od cijene jednake količine biljnih bjelančevina, zbog čega države subvencioniraju industriju mesa, mlijeka i jaja.”   Stoga pozivaju sve da povodom Svjetskog dana bez mesa, koji Prijatelji životinja obilježavaju već 20 godina, razmisle o očuvanju prirodnih resursa prehranom zdravom biljnom hranom zbog koje se ne ubijaju životinje, koja ne utječe na glad u svijetu i krize s hranom te ne uništava okoliš. Obilježavanje toga dana, čiji je glavni cilj poticanje suosjećanja prema životinjama, započelo je još 1985. godine simbolizirajući dolazak proljeća, preporod i obnovu prirode.     „Apsurdno je da ćemo radije biti gladni nego promijeniti svoje prehrambene navike, a poražavajuće je što se o ovom velikom svjetskom problemu jedva govori. Problem nestašice žitarica iz Ukrajine, koja je prozvana žitnicom Europe, nema smisla rješavati paničnom kupovinom rezervi hrane i pražnjenjem trgovina, već bismo trebali biti svjesniji posljedica mesne industrije i prestati jesti meso. To je pitanje čiste matematike”, upozoravaju iz Udruge.

 Povodom Svjetskog dana bez mesa, tzv. Meatouta, koji se diljem svijeta obilježava 20. ožujka, udruga Prijatelji životinja skreće pozornost na lako primjenjivo rješenje koje može znatno pomoći u sprječavanju krize oko dostupnosti hrane koja je aktualizirana i ratom na istoku Europe i ruskom invazijom na Ukrajinu.

Prijetelji životinja podsjećaju kako se najveći dio žitarica ne uzgaja za prehranu ljudi, već životinja. Početak rješavanja problema s nestašicom hrane jest znatno smanjenje jedenja mesa, mlijeka i jaja, odnosno povećanje konzumacije biljne hrane. Naime, tone žitarica i mahunarki nepovratno odlaze na tov životinja. Za proizvodnju jedne kilokalorije govedine ili janjetine potrebno je čak 100 puta više zemlje u odnosu na proizvodnju žitarica. Također, potrebno je gotovo 100 puta više zemlje da bi se proizveo gram bjelančevina iz govedine ili janjetine, u odnosu na gram bjelančevina iz graška.

Uzgoj životinja radi jedenja mesa nevjerojatno je rastrošan način proizvodnje hrane, smatraju Prijatelji životinja:

 „Za kilogram mesa potroši se 15 000 litara vode, a za kilogram žitarica 100 litara vode. Kada bi se goleme površine na kojima se uzgajaju usjevi za prehranu životinja prenamijenile za prehranu ljudi, dobili bismo obilje hrane kojim bi se mogao početi rješavati problem krize s hranom. Osim toga, meso je i najmanje ekonomična hrana: cijena jednog kilograma mesnih bjelančevina veća je dvadeset puta od cijene jednake količine biljnih bjelančevina, zbog čega države subvencioniraju industriju mesa, mlijeka i jaja.”   Stoga pozivaju sve da povodom Svjetskog dana bez mesa, koji Prijatelji životinja obilježavaju već 20 godina, razmisle o očuvanju prirodnih resursa prehranom zdravom biljnom hranom zbog koje se ne ubijaju životinje, koja ne utječe na glad u svijetu i krize s hranom te ne uništava okoliš. Obilježavanje toga dana, čiji je glavni cilj poticanje suosjećanja prema životinjama, započelo je još 1985. godine simbolizirajući dolazak proljeća, preporod i obnovu prirode.     „Apsurdno je da ćemo radije biti gladni nego promijeniti svoje prehrambene navike, a poražavajuće je što se o ovom velikom svjetskom problemu jedva govori. Problem nestašice žitarica iz Ukrajine, koja je prozvana žitnicom Europe, nema smisla rješavati paničnom kupovinom rezervi hrane i pražnjenjem trgovina, već bismo trebali biti svjesniji posljedica mesne industrije i prestati jesti meso. To je pitanje čiste matematike”, upozoravaju iz Udruge.

Udruga Prijatelji životinja poziva sve i poručuje: ‘Ne kupujmo rezerve hrane, jedimo žitarice umjesto životinja‘

 Povodom Svjetskog dana bez mesa, tzv. Meatouta, koji se diljem svijeta obilježava 20. ožujka, udruga Prijatelji životinja skreće pozornost na lako primjenjivo rješenje koje može znatno pomoći u sprječavanju krize oko dostupnosti hrane koja je aktualizirana i ratom na istoku Europe i ruskom invazijom na Ukrajinu.

Prijetelji životinja podsjećaju kako se najveći dio žitarica ne uzgaja za prehranu ljudi, već životinja. Početak rješavanja problema s nestašicom hrane jest znatno smanjenje jedenja mesa, mlijeka i jaja, odnosno povećanje konzumacije biljne hrane. Naime, tone žitarica i mahunarki nepovratno odlaze na tov životinja. Za proizvodnju jedne kilokalorije govedine ili janjetine potrebno je čak 100 puta više zemlje u odnosu na proizvodnju žitarica. Također, potrebno je gotovo 100 puta više zemlje da bi se proizveo gram bjelančevina iz govedine ili janjetine, u odnosu na gram bjelančevina iz graška.

Uzgoj životinja radi jedenja mesa nevjerojatno je rastrošan način proizvodnje hrane, smatraju Prijatelji životinja:

 „Za kilogram mesa potroši se 15 000 litara vode, a za kilogram žitarica 100 litara vode. Kada bi se goleme površine na kojima se uzgajaju usjevi za prehranu životinja prenamijenile za prehranu ljudi, dobili bismo obilje hrane kojim bi se mogao početi rješavati problem krize s hranom. Osim toga, meso je i najmanje ekonomična hrana: cijena jednog kilograma mesnih bjelančevina veća je dvadeset puta od cijene jednake količine biljnih bjelančevina, zbog čega države subvencioniraju industriju mesa, mlijeka i jaja.”   Stoga pozivaju sve da povodom Svjetskog dana bez mesa, koji Prijatelji životinja obilježavaju već 20 godina, razmisle o očuvanju prirodnih resursa prehranom zdravom biljnom hranom zbog koje se ne ubijaju životinje, koja ne utječe na glad u svijetu i krize s hranom te ne uništava okoliš. Obilježavanje toga dana, čiji je glavni cilj poticanje suosjećanja prema životinjama, započelo je još 1985. godine simbolizirajući dolazak proljeća, preporod i obnovu prirode.     „Apsurdno je da ćemo radije biti gladni nego promijeniti svoje prehrambene navike, a poražavajuće je što se o ovom velikom svjetskom problemu jedva govori. Problem nestašice žitarica iz Ukrajine, koja je prozvana žitnicom Europe, nema smisla rješavati paničnom kupovinom rezervi hrane i pražnjenjem trgovina, već bismo trebali biti svjesniji posljedica mesne industrije i prestati jesti meso. To je pitanje čiste matematike”, upozoravaju iz Udruge.
