Hrvatska muška vaterpolska reprezentacija izborila je nastup na Oilimpijskim igrama koje bi se od 24. srpnja do 8. kolovoza trebale održati u Tokiju, ona je u susretu za treće mjesto na kvalifikacijskom turniru u Rotterdamu, posljednje koje vodi na Igre, svladala Rusiju sa 25-24 (4-3, 2-4, 3-1, 2-3; 14-13) boljim izvođenjem peteraca.

Tijekom utakmice po dva gola za Hrvatsku postigli su Ante Vukičević, Andro Bušlje i Josip Vrlić, a po jedan Loren Fatović, Maro Joković, Luka Bukić, Lovre Miloš i Rino Burić, dok su trostruki strijelci za Rusiju bili Danil Merkulov i Konstantin Harkov, dva gola je dodao Dmitrij Holod, a po jedan Ivan Sučkov, Konstantin Kiseljev i Danil Pronin.

Hrvatska je odlično otvorila utakmicu, sredinom prve četvrtine povela sa 4-2 i imala napad s igračem više za 5-2, no nakon što ta prilika nije iskorištena Rusija je krajem prvog dijela smanjila na 4-3 da bi Vrlić u posljednjim sekundama neometan s dva metra u situaciji s igračem više pogodio gredu.

Rusija je u drugoj četvrtini preokrenula rezultat povevši sa 6-5, a početkom treće imala i veliku šansu povesti s dva razlike, no Holod je promašio peterac. Kod rezultata 7-7 Rusija nije iskoristila niti situaciju s dva igrača više, odličnom obranom istaknuo se Bijač, pa je Hrvatska ponovno preuzela kontrolu rezultata.

Nažalost, početkom posljednje četvrtine Hrvatska nije iskoristila tri napada za povećanje prednosti na dva razlike pa je Merkulov poravnao na 9-9 uoči posljendjih pet minuta. U samoj završnici Hrvatska je vodila sa 10-9 i 11-10 golovima Bušlje i Vrlića, no Rusija je uspijevala poravnati preko Hrkova i Holoda. Na 11-11 Holod je poravnao 16 sekundi prije kraja nakon napada koji je trajao više od minute i u kojem je u dva navrata imala igrača više.

Uslijedili su peterci u kojima su nakon čak 15 serija uspješniji bili naši igrači s ukupnih 14-13. Jedini neuspješan za Hrvatsku bio je Luka Bukić u četvrtoj seriji kada je pogodio gredu, zatim je Šepelev imao priliku odvesti Rusiju na OI, ali je Popadić obranio njegov pokušaj. U sljedećih devet serija svi su igrači s obje strane bili suigurni da bi potom Bijač obranio još jedan pokušaj Šepeleva, a zatim je Vrlić odveo Hrvatsku na sedme uzastopne Igre u vaterpolu.

Još ranije su nastip na olimpijskom turniru izborili domaćin Japan, Srbija, Italija, Španjolska, SAD, Australija, JAR, Mađarska, Kazahstan, Crna Gora i Grčka.

Hrvatska muška vaterpolska reprezentacija izborila je nastup na Oilimpijskim igrama koje bi se od 24. srpnja do 8. kolovoza trebale održati u Tokiju, ona je u susretu za treće mjesto na kvalifikacijskom turniru u Rotterdamu, posljednje koje vodi na Igre, svladala Rusiju sa 25-24 (4-3, 2-4, 3-1, 2-3; 14-13) boljim izvođenjem peteraca.

Tijekom utakmice po dva gola za Hrvatsku postigli su Ante Vukičević, Andro Bušlje i Josip Vrlić, a po jedan Loren Fatović, Maro Joković, Luka Bukić, Lovre Miloš i Rino Burić, dok su trostruki strijelci za Rusiju bili Danil Merkulov i Konstantin Harkov, dva gola je dodao Dmitrij Holod, a po jedan Ivan Sučkov, Konstantin Kiseljev i Danil Pronin.

Hrvatska je odlično otvorila utakmicu, sredinom prve četvrtine povela sa 4-2 i imala napad s igračem više za 5-2, no nakon što ta prilika nije iskorištena Rusija je krajem prvog dijela smanjila na 4-3 da bi Vrlić u posljednjim sekundama neometan s dva metra u situaciji s igračem više pogodio gredu.

Rusija je u drugoj četvrtini preokrenula rezultat povevši sa 6-5, a početkom treće imala i veliku šansu povesti s dva razlike, no Holod je promašio peterac. Kod rezultata 7-7 Rusija nije iskoristila niti situaciju s dva igrača više, odličnom obranom istaknuo se Bijač, pa je Hrvatska ponovno preuzela kontrolu rezultata.

Nažalost, početkom posljednje četvrtine Hrvatska nije iskoristila tri napada za povećanje prednosti na dva razlike pa je Merkulov poravnao na 9-9 uoči posljendjih pet minuta. U samoj završnici Hrvatska je vodila sa 10-9 i 11-10 golovima Bušlje i Vrlića, no Rusija je uspijevala poravnati preko Hrkova i Holoda. Na 11-11 Holod je poravnao 16 sekundi prije kraja nakon napada koji je trajao više od minute i u kojem je u dva navrata imala igrača više.

Uslijedili su peterci u kojima su nakon čak 15 serija uspješniji bili naši igrači s ukupnih 14-13. Jedini neuspješan za Hrvatsku bio je Luka Bukić u četvrtoj seriji kada je pogodio gredu, zatim je Šepelev imao priliku odvesti Rusiju na OI, ali je Popadić obranio njegov pokušaj. U sljedećih devet serija svi su igrači s obje strane bili suigurni da bi potom Bijač obranio još jedan pokušaj Šepeleva, a zatim je Vrlić odveo Hrvatsku na sedme uzastopne Igre u vaterpolu.

Još ranije su nastip na olimpijskom turniru izborili domaćin Japan, Srbija, Italija, Španjolska, SAD, Australija, JAR, Mađarska, Kazahstan, Crna Gora i Grčka.

Hrvatska vaterpolo reprezentacija nakon drame peteraca izborila nastup na Olimpijskim igrama u Tokiju

Hrvatska muška vaterpolska reprezentacija izborila je nastup na Oilimpijskim igrama koje bi se od 24. srpnja do 8. kolovoza trebale održati u Tokiju, ona je u susretu za treće mjesto na kvalifikacijskom turniru u Rotterdamu, posljednje koje vodi na Igre, svladala Rusiju sa 25-24 (4-3, 2-4, 3-1, 2-3; 14-13) boljim izvođenjem peteraca.

Tijekom utakmice po dva gola za Hrvatsku postigli su Ante Vukičević, Andro Bušlje i Josip Vrlić, a po jedan Loren Fatović, Maro Joković, Luka Bukić, Lovre Miloš i Rino Burić, dok su trostruki strijelci za Rusiju bili Danil Merkulov i Konstantin Harkov, dva gola je dodao Dmitrij Holod, a po jedan Ivan Sučkov, Konstantin Kiseljev i Danil Pronin.

Hrvatska je odlično otvorila utakmicu, sredinom prve četvrtine povela sa 4-2 i imala napad s igračem više za 5-2, no nakon što ta prilika nije iskorištena Rusija je krajem prvog dijela smanjila na 4-3 da bi Vrlić u posljednjim sekundama neometan s dva metra u situaciji s igračem više pogodio gredu.

Rusija je u drugoj četvrtini preokrenula rezultat povevši sa 6-5, a početkom treće imala i veliku šansu povesti s dva razlike, no Holod je promašio peterac. Kod rezultata 7-7 Rusija nije iskoristila niti situaciju s dva igrača više, odličnom obranom istaknuo se Bijač, pa je Hrvatska ponovno preuzela kontrolu rezultata.

Nažalost, početkom posljednje četvrtine Hrvatska nije iskoristila tri napada za povećanje prednosti na dva razlike pa je Merkulov poravnao na 9-9 uoči posljendjih pet minuta. U samoj završnici Hrvatska je vodila sa 10-9 i 11-10 golovima Bušlje i Vrlića, no Rusija je uspijevala poravnati preko Hrkova i Holoda. Na 11-11 Holod je poravnao 16 sekundi prije kraja nakon napada koji je trajao više od minute i u kojem je u dva navrata imala igrača više.

Uslijedili su peterci u kojima su nakon čak 15 serija uspješniji bili naši igrači s ukupnih 14-13. Jedini neuspješan za Hrvatsku bio je Luka Bukić u četvrtoj seriji kada je pogodio gredu, zatim je Šepelev imao priliku odvesti Rusiju na OI, ali je Popadić obranio njegov pokušaj. U sljedećih devet serija svi su igrači s obje strane bili suigurni da bi potom Bijač obranio još jedan pokušaj Šepeleva, a zatim je Vrlić odveo Hrvatsku na sedme uzastopne Igre u vaterpolu.

Još ranije su nastip na olimpijskom turniru izborili domaćin Japan, Srbija, Italija, Španjolska, SAD, Australija, JAR, Mađarska, Kazahstan, Crna Gora i Grčka.
