Oceani su u 2021. godini dosegnuli nove rekordne razine zagrijavanja i kiselosti, objavila je Svjetska meteorološka organizacija (WMO) u izvješću i upozorila da rat u Ukrajini prijeti ostvarenju zacrtanih ciljeva u borbi protiv globalnog zatopljenja.
U godišnjem izvješću "Stanje globalne klime" objavljenom u srijedu, WMO potvrđuje da su sedam zadnjih godina bile najtoplije od početka mjerenja.
Meteorološki fenomeni vezani uz La Ninu početkom 2021. imali su učinak hlađenja na svjetske temperature prošle godine.
No unatoč tome, 2021. je i dalje jedna od najtoplijih od početka mjerenja, s prosječnom temperaturom od 1,11 stupnjeva Celzijeva iznad predindustrijske razine.
Pariškim sporazumom iz 2015. države potpisnice obvezale su se ograničiti zagrijavanje planeta na +1,5 stupnjeva C u odnosu na predindustrijsko doba.
"A mi sada idemo prema zagrijavanju od 2,5 do 3 stupnja umjesto prema 1,5", kaže glavni tajnik WMO-a Petteri Taalas.
"Klima se mijenja doslovce pred našim očima", ističe.
"Toplina izazvana učinkom emisija stakleničkih plinova za koje je odgovoran čovjek svojom djelatnošću zagrijavat će planet za brojne buduće generacije. Porast razine mora, zatopljenje i kiselost oceana nastaviti će se stotinama godinama osim ako se ne osmisle načini uklanjanja ugljičnog dioksida (CO2) iz atmosfere", rekao je Taalas novinarima.
Opasan rast emisija
Da stvar bude gora, druge krize, kao pandemija covid-19 i rat u Ukrajini, potisnule su fokus s klime u drugi plan.
Mjere zatvaranja koje su zemlje uvele u pandemiji covid-19 nisu imale nikakva učinka na koncentracije stakleničkih plinova u atmoseru, kaže Taalas.
Ali zato je nove ugroze donio rat u Ukrajini.
Selwin Hart, posebni savjetnik za klimatska pitanja glavnog tajnika UN-a Antonija Guterresa kritizirao je države jer ne poštuju preuzete klimatske obveze zbog sukoba koji izaziva rast cijene energenata i europske nacije nastoje naći alternativu za ruski plin.
"Vidimo... da velika gospodarstva odabiru načine koji, iskreno govoreći, potencijalno mogu zadržati velike razine emisija CO2, što donosi visoko onečišćenje i ugrožava ostvarenje zacrtanih klimatskih ciljeva", kazao je Hart.
U utorak je MSCI, jedan od najpoznatijih globalnih referentnih indeksa upozorio na opasno povećanje emisija stakleničkih plinova ako se ruski plin zamijeni korištenjem ugljena.
Razine CO2 i metana u 2021. premašile su prethodne rekorde, ističe WMO u izvješću.
"Samo je pitanje vremena kada će se dogoditi još jedna najtoplija godina", kaže Taalas.
UN predlaže pet akcija
Oceani snose velik dio posljedica zatopljenja i stakleničkih plinova.
Voda apsorbira oko 90 posto akumulirane topline na Zemlji i 23 posto emisija CO2 izazvanih ljudskom aktivnošću.
Oceani su se zagrijavali brže u posljednjih 20 godina, dosegnuli su novi rekord u 2021. i postat će još topliji. Da bi se taj trend promijenio trebat će stoljeća ili tisućljeća.
Ocean je danas najkiseliji u posljednjih najmanje 26.000 godina jer apsorbira i reagira na ugljični dioksid ispuštan u atmosferu.
Razina mora porasla je za 4,5 cm u posljednjem desetljeću, a godišnji rast od 2013. do 2021. više je nego dvostruk u odnosu na razdoblje 1993.-2002.
WMO je naveo i druge ekstremne pojave kao što su toplotni udari, šumski požari, poplave te druge klimatske katastrofe u svijetu koje su izazvale štete veće od 100 milijarda dolara.
Glavni tajnik António Guterres predložio je pet akcija za obnovu prijelaza na obnovljive energije "prije nego li bude prekasno", piše agencija France presse.
Predlaže ukidanje subvencija na fosilna goriva.
Nadalje, treba utrostručiti ulaganja u obnovljive energije, ukinuti administrativne formalnosti, osigurati opskrbu sirovinama za tehnologije obnovljivih energija te konačno učiniti da te tehnologije postanu javno dobro kojima će se u svijetu slobodno raspolagati.

Oceani su u 2021. godini dosegnuli nove rekordne razine zagrijavanja i kiselosti, objavila je Svjetska meteorološka organizacija (WMO) u izvješću i upozorila da rat u Ukrajini prijeti ostvarenju zacrtanih ciljeva u borbi protiv globalnog zatopljenja.
U godišnjem izvješću "Stanje globalne klime" objavljenom u srijedu, WMO potvrđuje da su sedam zadnjih godina bile najtoplije od početka mjerenja.
Meteorološki fenomeni vezani uz La Ninu početkom 2021. imali su učinak hlađenja na svjetske temperature prošle godine.
No unatoč tome, 2021. je i dalje jedna od najtoplijih od početka mjerenja, s prosječnom temperaturom od 1,11 stupnjeva Celzijeva iznad predindustrijske razine.
Pariškim sporazumom iz 2015. države potpisnice obvezale su se ograničiti zagrijavanje planeta na +1,5 stupnjeva C u odnosu na predindustrijsko doba.
"A mi sada idemo prema zagrijavanju od 2,5 do 3 stupnja umjesto prema 1,5", kaže glavni tajnik WMO-a Petteri Taalas.
"Klima se mijenja doslovce pred našim očima", ističe.
"Toplina izazvana učinkom emisija stakleničkih plinova za koje je odgovoran čovjek svojom djelatnošću zagrijavat će planet za brojne buduće generacije. Porast razine mora, zatopljenje i kiselost oceana nastaviti će se stotinama godinama osim ako se ne osmisle načini uklanjanja ugljičnog dioksida (CO2) iz atmosfere", rekao je Taalas novinarima.
Opasan rast emisija
Da stvar bude gora, druge krize, kao pandemija covid-19 i rat u Ukrajini, potisnule su fokus s klime u drugi plan.
Mjere zatvaranja koje su zemlje uvele u pandemiji covid-19 nisu imale nikakva učinka na koncentracije stakleničkih plinova u atmoseru, kaže Taalas.
Ali zato je nove ugroze donio rat u Ukrajini.
Selwin Hart, posebni savjetnik za klimatska pitanja glavnog tajnika UN-a Antonija Guterresa kritizirao je države jer ne poštuju preuzete klimatske obveze zbog sukoba koji izaziva rast cijene energenata i europske nacije nastoje naći alternativu za ruski plin.
"Vidimo... da velika gospodarstva odabiru načine koji, iskreno govoreći, potencijalno mogu zadržati velike razine emisija CO2, što donosi visoko onečišćenje i ugrožava ostvarenje zacrtanih klimatskih ciljeva", kazao je Hart.
U utorak je MSCI, jedan od najpoznatijih globalnih referentnih indeksa upozorio na opasno povećanje emisija stakleničkih plinova ako se ruski plin zamijeni korištenjem ugljena.
Razine CO2 i metana u 2021. premašile su prethodne rekorde, ističe WMO u izvješću.
"Samo je pitanje vremena kada će se dogoditi još jedna najtoplija godina", kaže Taalas.
UN predlaže pet akcija
Oceani snose velik dio posljedica zatopljenja i stakleničkih plinova.
Voda apsorbira oko 90 posto akumulirane topline na Zemlji i 23 posto emisija CO2 izazvanih ljudskom aktivnošću.
Oceani su se zagrijavali brže u posljednjih 20 godina, dosegnuli su novi rekord u 2021. i postat će još topliji. Da bi se taj trend promijenio trebat će stoljeća ili tisućljeća.
Ocean je danas najkiseliji u posljednjih najmanje 26.000 godina jer apsorbira i reagira na ugljični dioksid ispuštan u atmosferu.
Razina mora porasla je za 4,5 cm u posljednjem desetljeću, a godišnji rast od 2013. do 2021. više je nego dvostruk u odnosu na razdoblje 1993.-2002.
WMO je naveo i druge ekstremne pojave kao što su toplotni udari, šumski požari, poplave te druge klimatske katastrofe u svijetu koje su izazvale štete veće od 100 milijarda dolara.
Glavni tajnik António Guterres predložio je pet akcija za obnovu prijelaza na obnovljive energije "prije nego li bude prekasno", piše agencija France presse.
Predlaže ukidanje subvencija na fosilna goriva.
Nadalje, treba utrostručiti ulaganja u obnovljive energije, ukinuti administrativne formalnosti, osigurati opskrbu sirovinama za tehnologije obnovljivih energija te konačno učiniti da te tehnologije postanu javno dobro kojima će se u svijetu slobodno raspolagati.
