Ove srijede na Prirodoslovno-matematičkom fakultetu u Splitu u 13.15 sati Mirko Barada sa School of Ocean Sciences, Bangor University, Wales (UK) održat će predavanje na temu Modeliranje složenih poplava u estuarijima različitih oblika i strategije obrane. Barada je doktorand na posljednjoj godini doktorata na spomenutog sveučilištu u polju fizičke oceanografije.

Estuariji su među najugroženijim područjima našeg planeta kada je riječ o riziku od poplava jer se nalaze na prostoru kontakta (i konflikta) fluvijalnih i maritimnih utjecaja. U isto vrijeme to su područja velike bioraznolikosti ali i tradicionalno iznimno naseljena područja gdje čovjek izmjenjuje izvorni krajolik nerijetko čineći uvjete ranjivijima nego što početno jesu.

U ovome predavanju predstavit će se primjena LISFLOOD-FP hidrodinamičkog modela u modeliranju složenih poplava na primjeru estuarija rijeke Dovey u Walesu (UK), s posebnim naglaskom na važnost morfologije estuarija modificirajući pri tom njegov izvorni oblik. U prvome dijelu predavanja govorit će se o ocjeni točnosti korištenog modela, uključujući validaciju korištenjem in-situ mjerenja te satelitskih SAR snimaka za odabrani ekstremni poplavni događaj.

Drugi dio predavanja odnosi se na proučavanje utjecaja različitih oblika estuarija, odnosno primijenih strategija obrane na rizik od poplava. Različiti oblici estuarija virtualno su izvedeni iz početnog korištenjem GIS-a, a uključuju strategije obrane poput Hold the line, Advance the line ili Remove the line (i dr.) pristupa, kao i različite varijante pokrova zemljišta. U nastavku rezultati dobiveni na temelju ovih modela uspoređuju se s modelima koji aproksimiraju različito "ponašanje" poplave u vidu varijacija u rubnim uvjeta kao što su trajanje poplavnog događaja i vremenski odmak između vrhunaca riječne i morske komponente.

Rezultati istraživanja ukazuju na iznimnu važnost morfologije estuarija te primijenjene strategije upravljanja u smanjenju (ili povećanju) rizika od poplava, s posebnim naglaskom na nature-based rješenja.

Ove srijede na Prirodoslovno-matematičkom fakultetu u Splitu u 13.15 sati Mirko Barada sa School of Ocean Sciences, Bangor University, Wales (UK) održat će predavanje na temu Modeliranje složenih poplava u estuarijima različitih oblika i strategije obrane. Barada je doktorand na posljednjoj godini doktorata na spomenutog sveučilištu u polju fizičke oceanografije.

Estuariji su među najugroženijim područjima našeg planeta kada je riječ o riziku od poplava jer se nalaze na prostoru kontakta (i konflikta) fluvijalnih i maritimnih utjecaja. U isto vrijeme to su područja velike bioraznolikosti ali i tradicionalno iznimno naseljena područja gdje čovjek izmjenjuje izvorni krajolik nerijetko čineći uvjete ranjivijima nego što početno jesu.

U ovome predavanju predstavit će se primjena LISFLOOD-FP hidrodinamičkog modela u modeliranju složenih poplava na primjeru estuarija rijeke Dovey u Walesu (UK), s posebnim naglaskom na važnost morfologije estuarija modificirajući pri tom njegov izvorni oblik. U prvome dijelu predavanja govorit će se o ocjeni točnosti korištenog modela, uključujući validaciju korištenjem in-situ mjerenja te satelitskih SAR snimaka za odabrani ekstremni poplavni događaj.

Drugi dio predavanja odnosi se na proučavanje utjecaja različitih oblika estuarija, odnosno primijenih strategija obrane na rizik od poplava. Različiti oblici estuarija virtualno su izvedeni iz početnog korištenjem GIS-a, a uključuju strategije obrane poput Hold the line, Advance the line ili Remove the line (i dr.) pristupa, kao i različite varijante pokrova zemljišta. U nastavku rezultati dobiveni na temelju ovih modela uspoređuju se s modelima koji aproksimiraju različito "ponašanje" poplave u vidu varijacija u rubnim uvjeta kao što su trajanje poplavnog događaja i vremenski odmak između vrhunaca riječne i morske komponente.

Rezultati istraživanja ukazuju na iznimnu važnost morfologije estuarija te primijenjene strategije upravljanja u smanjenju (ili povećanju) rizika od poplava, s posebnim naglaskom na nature-based rješenja.

znanostFizička oceanografija: najavljeno predavanje Mirka Barade o riziku i obrani od poplava

Ove srijede na Prirodoslovno-matematičkom fakultetu u Splitu u 13.15 sati Mirko Barada sa School of Ocean Sciences, Bangor University, Wales (UK) održat će predavanje na temu Modeliranje složenih poplava u estuarijima različitih oblika i strategije obrane. Barada je doktorand na posljednjoj godini doktorata na spomenutog sveučilištu u polju fizičke oceanografije.

Estuariji su među najugroženijim područjima našeg planeta kada je riječ o riziku od poplava jer se nalaze na prostoru kontakta (i konflikta) fluvijalnih i maritimnih utjecaja. U isto vrijeme to su područja velike bioraznolikosti ali i tradicionalno iznimno naseljena područja gdje čovjek izmjenjuje izvorni krajolik nerijetko čineći uvjete ranjivijima nego što početno jesu.

U ovome predavanju predstavit će se primjena LISFLOOD-FP hidrodinamičkog modela u modeliranju složenih poplava na primjeru estuarija rijeke Dovey u Walesu (UK), s posebnim naglaskom na važnost morfologije estuarija modificirajući pri tom njegov izvorni oblik. U prvome dijelu predavanja govorit će se o ocjeni točnosti korištenog modela, uključujući validaciju korištenjem in-situ mjerenja te satelitskih SAR snimaka za odabrani ekstremni poplavni događaj.

Drugi dio predavanja odnosi se na proučavanje utjecaja različitih oblika estuarija, odnosno primijenih strategija obrane na rizik od poplava. Različiti oblici estuarija virtualno su izvedeni iz početnog korištenjem GIS-a, a uključuju strategije obrane poput Hold the line, Advance the line ili Remove the line (i dr.) pristupa, kao i različite varijante pokrova zemljišta. U nastavku rezultati dobiveni na temelju ovih modela uspoređuju se s modelima koji aproksimiraju različito "ponašanje" poplave u vidu varijacija u rubnim uvjeta kao što su trajanje poplavnog događaja i vremenski odmak između vrhunaca riječne i morske komponente.
