Škotska tvrtka Orbital Marine Power (prije su se zvali Scotrenewables) proizvodi turbine za proizvodnju električne energije iz morske plime.

S radom na ovoj inovativnoj tehnologiji počeli su još 2002. godine, a nedavno su prezentirali Orbital O2, do sada najsnažniju turbinu plime snage čak 2 MW.

Riječ je o plovećem postrojenju koje na prvi pogled nalikuje podmornici, ali sa svake strane ima jednu hidrauličnu platformu s velikim zakretnim propelerima, čiji se listovi sklapaju tijekom tegljenja.

Međutim, kada se platforme urone u more, propeleri promjera 10 metara se okreću snagom plime i tako proizvode struju koja se kabelom provodi na kopno.

O2 je napravio TEXO Fabrication iz Aberdeena, a Osprey Shipping ju je iz Dundeeja doteglio na mjesto službenih testiranja. Pritom se pokazalo kako plutajuće postrojenje dužine 74 metra i težine 680 tona radi besprijekorno.

Kada dobije sve dozvole za rad, O2 će uskoro biti povezana s centrom European Marine Energy na otočju Orkney.

Škoti ističu kako su napravili jeftino rješenje čije održavanje nije ni teško ni skupo, a O2 će strujom opskrbljivati 2000 kućanstava i tako smanjiti emisiju oko 2200 tona CO2 u atmosferu svake godine.

Vrijedi spomenuti kako je škotska tvrtka Simec Atlantis Energy početkom godine uspješno postavila turbinu morske plime AR500 kod japanskog otoka Naru, ali ona proizvodi samo 500 kW struje.

Škotska tvrtka Orbital Marine Power (prije su se zvali Scotrenewables) proizvodi turbine za proizvodnju električne energije iz morske plime.

S radom na ovoj inovativnoj tehnologiji počeli su još 2002. godine, a nedavno su prezentirali Orbital O2, do sada najsnažniju turbinu plime snage čak 2 MW.

Riječ je o plovećem postrojenju koje na prvi pogled nalikuje podmornici, ali sa svake strane ima jednu hidrauličnu platformu s velikim zakretnim propelerima, čiji se listovi sklapaju tijekom tegljenja.

Međutim, kada se platforme urone u more, propeleri promjera 10 metara se okreću snagom plime i tako proizvode struju koja se kabelom provodi na kopno.

O2 je napravio TEXO Fabrication iz Aberdeena, a Osprey Shipping ju je iz Dundeeja doteglio na mjesto službenih testiranja. Pritom se pokazalo kako plutajuće postrojenje dužine 74 metra i težine 680 tona radi besprijekorno.

Kada dobije sve dozvole za rad, O2 će uskoro biti povezana s centrom European Marine Energy na otočju Orkney.

Škoti ističu kako su napravili jeftino rješenje čije održavanje nije ni teško ni skupo, a O2 će strujom opskrbljivati 2000 kućanstava i tako smanjiti emisiju oko 2200 tona CO2 u atmosferu svake godine.

Vrijedi spomenuti kako je škotska tvrtka Simec Atlantis Energy početkom godine uspješno postavila turbinu morske plime AR500 kod japanskog otoka Naru, ali ona proizvodi samo 500 kW struje.

Orbital Marine Power

Škotska tvrtka Orbital Marine Power (prije su se zvali Scotrenewables) proizvodi turbine za proizvodnju električne energije iz morske plime.

S radom na ovoj inovativnoj tehnologiji počeli su još 2002. godine, a nedavno su prezentirali Orbital O2, do sada najsnažniju turbinu plime snage čak 2 MW.

Riječ je o plovećem postrojenju koje na prvi pogled nalikuje podmornici, ali sa svake strane ima jednu hidrauličnu platformu s velikim zakretnim propelerima, čiji se listovi sklapaju tijekom tegljenja.

Međutim, kada se platforme urone u more, propeleri promjera 10 metara se okreću snagom plime i tako proizvode struju koja se kabelom provodi na kopno.

O2 je napravio TEXO Fabrication iz Aberdeena, a Osprey Shipping ju je iz Dundeeja doteglio na mjesto službenih testiranja. Pritom se pokazalo kako plutajuće postrojenje dužine 74 metra i težine 680 tona radi besprijekorno.

Kada dobije sve dozvole za rad, O2 će uskoro biti povezana s centrom European Marine Energy na otočju Orkney.

Škoti ističu kako su napravili jeftino rješenje čije održavanje nije ni teško ni skupo, a O2 će strujom opskrbljivati 2000 kućanstava i tako smanjiti emisiju oko 2200 tona CO2 u atmosferu svake godine.

Vrijedi spomenuti kako je škotska tvrtka Simec Atlantis Energy početkom godine uspješno postavila turbinu morske plime AR500 kod japanskog otoka Naru, ali ona proizvodi samo 500 kW struje.
