Kad jednom smrkne, drugom svane. Tako bi se otprilike mogla objasniti situacija u kojoj su se našli grčki brodari nakon što je Vladimir Putin pokrenuo potpunu invaziju na Ukrajinu.

Naime, većina zapadnih brodarskih kompanija prestala je prevoziti rusku naftu nakon što je Zapad sankcionirao uvoz ruske sirove nafte. Grčki brodovlasnici jedni su od rijetkih koji su nastavili poslovati s Rusijom te su u posljednjih godinu dana gotovo udvostručili broj pristajanja u ruskim lukama.

Na čelu tog lukrativnog biznisa nalazi se George Economou, 70-godišnji grčki tajkun, kojeg nazivaju "zločestim dečkom" morskog brodarstva. Kako piše The Wall Street Journal, Economouova tvrtka TMS Tankers prevezla je desetke milijuna barela ruske sirove nafte i naftnih derivata od početka ruske invazije na Ukrajinu. To je učinilo TMS drugim najvećim igračem u trgovini ruskom naftom, odmah iza najveće ruske brodarske tvrtke Sovcomflot.

Sedam grčkih brodarskih kompanija, uključujući TMS, nalazi se među 10 najvećih morskih prijevoznika ruske nafte.

Antikorupcijska skupina Global Witness navodi kako su Economouovi tankeri napravili više od 200 putovanja iz ruskih luka od 24. veljače prošle godine. To je unosan posao, koji donosi između 4 i 5 milijuna dolara za svako 60-dnevno putovanje od Baltičkog mora do Indije i natrag.

Mnogi brodovi TMS-a u ruskim vodama osigurani su od nesreća kod norveškog osiguravatelja Garda, što sugerira da prevoze naftu čija je cijena ispod gornje granice cijena nafte koju je postavila grupa sedam najrazvijenijih industrijskih zemalja G7. Kako bi mogao biti osiguran, TMS mora Gardu dostaviti dokumente koji pokazuju da nafta na njegovim tankerima ne krši sankcije, prema njegovom najboljem saznanju.

Lukoil, druga najveća naftna kompanija u Rusiji (iza Rosnefta) veliki je klijent TMS-a. Prema podacima Global Witnessa, tankeri TMS-a odveze Lukoilovu sirovu naftu i naftne derivate u Indiju, Maleziju, Saudijsku Arabiju i rafineriju koju ruska tvrtka posjeduje u Bugarskoj.

Ova putovanja jačaju oslabljeni ruski proračun, pomažu u održavanju globalnih cijena nafte i akumuliraju novac za jednu od najmoćnijih grčkih industrija. Ta su putovanja također učinili Economoua metom kritika u Ukrajini.

"Svi razumiju što je pogrešno, a što ispravno. Šaljete krvavi novac Putinovom režimu koji čini ratne zločine protiv Ukrajinaca", rekao je Oleg Ustenko, ekonomski savjetnik predsjednika Volodimira Zelenskog.

Ukrajinski pritisak na grčke dužnosnike

Ukrajina je vršila pritisak na grčke dužnosnike i tvrtke da prestanu prevoziti rusku naftu, ali bez učinka. Dužnosnici grčke vlade rekli su da se zemlja pridržava sankcija, ali ne može učiniti mnogo da zaustavi trgovinu naftom u međunarodnim vodama.

Problem za Kijev je što SAD želi da ruska nafta teče, kako bi globalne cijene ostale niske. Washington je uveo posebno izuzeće od sankcije kako bi ruska nafta mogla putovati zapadnim brodovima sve dok pošiljke ne donesu neočekivanu dobit Kremlju. Brodovlasnici, koji iznajmljuju tankere trgovcima umjesto da sami kupuju i prodaju naftu, moraju imati dokumente svojih klijenata, koji pokazuju da cijena nafte na brodu ne premašuje gornju granicu koju je postavila G7.

Grčki tankeri su samo u ožujku ostvarili 42 posto svih pristajanja u pet ruskih luka na Baltičkom i Crnom moru. Prije rata njihov je udio bio oko trećine.

Unosno trgovanje ruskom naftom ipak sa sobom nosi određene rizike. Grčki brodari su sada u strahu da bi cijena ruske izvozne nafte marke Urals mogla porasti i da bi se moglo dogoditi da će se trgovati iznad granice koju je postavila G7. Ako se to dogodi, Grci bi se suočili s pritiskom da se povuku iz ruske trgovine naftom.

Kad jednom smrkne, drugom svane. Tako bi se otprilike mogla objasniti situacija u kojoj su se našli grčki brodari nakon što je Vladimir Putin pokrenuo potpunu invaziju na Ukrajinu.

Naime, većina zapadnih brodarskih kompanija prestala je prevoziti rusku naftu nakon što je Zapad sankcionirao uvoz ruske sirove nafte. Grčki brodovlasnici jedni su od rijetkih koji su nastavili poslovati s Rusijom te su u posljednjih godinu dana gotovo udvostručili broj pristajanja u ruskim lukama.

Na čelu tog lukrativnog biznisa nalazi se George Economou, 70-godišnji grčki tajkun, kojeg nazivaju "zločestim dečkom" morskog brodarstva. Kako piše The Wall Street Journal, Economouova tvrtka TMS Tankers prevezla je desetke milijuna barela ruske sirove nafte i naftnih derivata od početka ruske invazije na Ukrajinu. To je učinilo TMS drugim najvećim igračem u trgovini ruskom naftom, odmah iza najveće ruske brodarske tvrtke Sovcomflot.

Sedam grčkih brodarskih kompanija, uključujući TMS, nalazi se među 10 najvećih morskih prijevoznika ruske nafte.

Antikorupcijska skupina Global Witness navodi kako su Economouovi tankeri napravili više od 200 putovanja iz ruskih luka od 24. veljače prošle godine. To je unosan posao, koji donosi između 4 i 5 milijuna dolara za svako 60-dnevno putovanje od Baltičkog mora do Indije i natrag.

Mnogi brodovi TMS-a u ruskim vodama osigurani su od nesreća kod norveškog osiguravatelja Garda, što sugerira da prevoze naftu čija je cijena ispod gornje granice cijena nafte koju je postavila grupa sedam najrazvijenijih industrijskih zemalja G7. Kako bi mogao biti osiguran, TMS mora Gardu dostaviti dokumente koji pokazuju da nafta na njegovim tankerima ne krši sankcije, prema njegovom najboljem saznanju.

Lukoil, druga najveća naftna kompanija u Rusiji (iza Rosnefta) veliki je klijent TMS-a. Prema podacima Global Witnessa, tankeri TMS-a odveze Lukoilovu sirovu naftu i naftne derivate u Indiju, Maleziju, Saudijsku Arabiju i rafineriju koju ruska tvrtka posjeduje u Bugarskoj.

Ova putovanja jačaju oslabljeni ruski proračun, pomažu u održavanju globalnih cijena nafte i akumuliraju novac za jednu od najmoćnijih grčkih industrija. Ta su putovanja također učinili Economoua metom kritika u Ukrajini.

"Svi razumiju što je pogrešno, a što ispravno. Šaljete krvavi novac Putinovom režimu koji čini ratne zločine protiv Ukrajinaca", rekao je Oleg Ustenko, ekonomski savjetnik predsjednika Volodimira Zelenskog.

Ukrajinski pritisak na grčke dužnosnike

Ukrajina je vršila pritisak na grčke dužnosnike i tvrtke da prestanu prevoziti rusku naftu, ali bez učinka. Dužnosnici grčke vlade rekli su da se zemlja pridržava sankcija, ali ne može učiniti mnogo da zaustavi trgovinu naftom u međunarodnim vodama.

Problem za Kijev je što SAD želi da ruska nafta teče, kako bi globalne cijene ostale niske. Washington je uveo posebno izuzeće od sankcije kako bi ruska nafta mogla putovati zapadnim brodovima sve dok pošiljke ne donesu neočekivanu dobit Kremlju. Brodovlasnici, koji iznajmljuju tankere trgovcima umjesto da sami kupuju i prodaju naftu, moraju imati dokumente svojih klijenata, koji pokazuju da cijena nafte na brodu ne premašuje gornju granicu koju je postavila G7.

Grčki tankeri su samo u ožujku ostvarili 42 posto svih pristajanja u pet ruskih luka na Baltičkom i Crnom moru. Prije rata njihov je udio bio oko trećine.

Unosno trgovanje ruskom naftom ipak sa sobom nosi određene rizike. Grčki brodari su sada u strahu da bi cijena ruske izvozne nafte marke Urals mogla porasti i da bi se moglo dogoditi da će se trgovati iznad granice koju je postavila G7. Ako se to dogodi, Grci bi se suočili s pritiskom da se povuku iz ruske trgovine naftom.
