Spajanje dviju petlji najčešće se ostvaruje preko Cat‘s paw čvora, koji zapravo i nije pravi čvor te je kao takav pogodan za tzv. slobodne spojeve, odnosno spojeve koji se mogu razvezati lako i bez oštećenja korištenog materijala.

No, kad se treba spojiti kraj strune s petljom, tada se pribjegava raznim trikovima, od kojih većina završava čvorovima koji se s petljom dodiruju u samo jednoj točki, a što je zapravo najlošija opcija.

Naime, iako je petlja temeljno udvojena struna, kod čvorova koji jednostruko vise na petlji neminovno dolazi do mikrooštećenja koja takav spoj čine slabim, spuštajući nosivost cijelog sistema često i preko 50 posto.

Upravo zato u spoju jednostruke i udvojene strune treba koristiti čvorove koji ne stvaraju kritične točke pucanja, te opterećenje raspoređuju optimalno, čuvajući pritom linearnu nosivost strune.

Jedan od takvih čvorova je i Bristol. Kod ovog čvora zahvaljujući omotajima spojne strune ne postoje kritične točke pucanja, dok nosivost nakon vezivanja ostaje vrlo blizu linearnoj nosivosti korištene strune.

Kao i većina ostalih praktičnih čvorova, čvor Bristol jednostavan je i kad se jednom svlada, vezuje se rutinski.

Spajanje dviju petlji najčešće se ostvaruje preko Cat‘s paw čvora, koji zapravo i nije pravi čvor te je kao takav pogodan za tzv. slobodne spojeve, odnosno spojeve koji se mogu razvezati lako i bez oštećenja korištenog materijala.

No, kad se treba spojiti kraj strune s petljom, tada se pribjegava raznim trikovima, od kojih većina završava čvorovima koji se s petljom dodiruju u samo jednoj točki, a što je zapravo najlošija opcija.

Naime, iako je petlja temeljno udvojena struna, kod čvorova koji jednostruko vise na petlji neminovno dolazi do mikrooštećenja koja takav spoj čine slabim, spuštajući nosivost cijelog sistema često i preko 50 posto.

Upravo zato u spoju jednostruke i udvojene strune treba koristiti čvorove koji ne stvaraju kritične točke pucanja, te opterećenje raspoređuju optimalno, čuvajući pritom linearnu nosivost strune.

Jedan od takvih čvorova je i Bristol. Kod ovog čvora zahvaljujući omotajima spojne strune ne postoje kritične točke pucanja, dok nosivost nakon vezivanja ostaje vrlo blizu linearnoj nosivosti korištene strune.

Kao i većina ostalih praktičnih čvorova, čvor Bristol jednostavan je i kad se jednom svlada, vezuje se rutinski.
